Erica walked along the long dirt road toward her home. The twenty year old female was very tired and exhausted from her long day at work. Usually her camera, which was the main part of her job, would be clicking away at the sky or scenery around her. But the rapidly approaching storm stopped her from pursuing her favorite pastime. Looking up from the muddy earth, she could see the roof of her home in the distance, telling her that she had less then half a mile until she could reach the front door of her house. As she quickened her pace, wanting to reach her destination faster, she prepared a mental checklist of what she was going to do the minute, no second she was threw the front door.
Firstly, she was going to strip out of her cold, wet, slightly itchy clothing. Second, she was then going to take a nice hot bath complete with a cup of hot chocolate, good book, and plenty of bubbles, for an hour. Then change into some comfortable jammies and call up her best friend Eric, and ask him if he could come over and help her edit some new video game walkthroughs for her YouTube channel. And lastly, order a pizza and chill out with movies and Tumblr until she passed out like the true gamer and internet addict she was. But before she decide what movie she was going to watch and get started on her checklist for tomorrow, she heard a loud wail, a baby's wail to be more specific. Erica stopped dead in her tracks, and listened, it could have been anything, an animal maybe. But there it was again, louder this time, with a few more voices accompanying it, each louder than the last.
Inside Erica something clicked, it wasn't anger or sadness, it was more of a large overwhelming motherly feeling. it wasn't anything she wasn't used to, she had it all her life and had used it to a large extent, from bandaging boo boo's on the playground to beating bully ass, which actually earned her a best friend Eric. Before she could go wandering down memory lane, more wails jarred her back into ever cruel reality. She quickened her pace again to a run, trying to see through the thick rain. As she blindly tried to reach the sound she tripped, landing face first into mud. Lifting up her head, she caught sight of a large basket in front of her, the wails deafening in her ears. She stumbled onto her knees, whatever energy she had left nearly gone. taking the sheet on top of the basket off she saw seven infants, who looked no more then a few days old.
Although inside she was mentally cursing out the fags who could have done this, while on the outside she had picked up a dark haired baby girl, who had been wailing the loudest and started soothing her until she quieted down, by then the other infants had stopped. Placing the girl back in the basket she quickly took note of the others. the rest of the infants were male, except for the one she had picked up earlier. "It's okay, guys i'm here" she said, trying to comfort them so they wouldn't start crying again. Picking up the basket, she saw that she was only a matter of minutes from her home. Stumbling a little, she managed to get to her door, and spent a minute or two searching her pokets for her keys. As she stumbled into the house, she managed to kick off her shoes, and turn on the light, turning what some would have mistaken for a haunted house, to a modern-ish Victorian. Hurrying to the kitchen she set the basket down on the island and lifted the cover again.
And almost freaked the fuck out when she saw the children.

Erica tried her best not to freak out. But she couldn't help but let her mouth go agape. These kids were strange, and she had seen some weird shit all the time. But this took the cake. The two most surprising facts, number one was that two of them had fucking WINGS, like birds wings, except ones was light blue and the others was canary yellow. The second shocking fact that really pissed her off was that the only thing they were wearing was fucking DIAPERS, and nothing else. Taking a quick glance toward the clock Erica could see that it was only 8:00, she had time to call Eric and ask him to come over, and stay a few days to help her figure out what the fuck to do for the time being. But before she could reach the phone, one of the babies started crying.
"Shit. There always has to be a setback doesn't there."
Erica said, knowing that they were probably hungry, and she didn't have any formula to feed them with. As she walked back to the island she thought about what she was going to do. After picking up the baby, this time the child was male and had wild curly hot pink hair. She nicknamed him bubble to save time, as she cuddled him to her chest she sang him an old song from her childhood

"Come little children", although some found it creepy, she always frond it calming. Alright, now all I have to do is find some formula to feed them an- OH GOD what the FUCK is that on my boob! Jesus, Mary, why me?!? Erica screamed in her head. As she was absorbed in her thoughts she had forgotten about the baby in her arms. And said baby, had managed to squeeze her b cup breast out of her bra and through her shirt, and was now suckling on it. She stared down at the child, chills running down her spine as she felt something come out of her breast. Oh god is that milk coming out of my boob!? Oh God why do you torture me so?! Erica thought to her self as she pulled the child away from her chest and felt milk run down her hand. Sighing and groaning at the same time, she let bubble suck on her nipple again, and walked over to the phone, uninterrupted this time as the others had fallen asleep in the basket.

Eric Jones was taking a nap after a long night at work when the phone rang, disturbing him from an amazing dream of a beautiful, yet familiar girl.
"Fuck, for the love of fucking Jesus what is it?"
he asked himself as he climbed off the couch and stumbled to the phone. "Hello, who is it?" he asked, not even check the caller id.
"Perky Pie! Pick up the phone! I need to talk to you!"
a familiar voice said from the phone. Eric smiled at the old nickname Erica had given him when they had first met.
"Fluttershy, what a surprise, need help with another video?".
"No something bigger, can you come to my house and stay for a few days? Please I really need your help."
she replied. Eric was about to decline when she spoke again, and her tone almost broke his heart, she sounded near tears.
"Please perks, I-i dont know what to do and I need your help. " Eric silently sighed.
"It's okay flutters, don't worry I'll be there by tomorrow, okay, don't cry.".
she thanked him over and over again and said she'd see him soon. And then she just hung up. Eric gathered some clothes and stuff her would need into a bag and tried to figure out what rout to take to be there by morning. It would be easy to drive straight through the night-which was what he was going to do-but Flutters lived in rural P.A. and he was in upstate N.Y.
"Ya know what fuck it, I care about flutters to much and I'm gonna be there by morning"
He said confidence finally showing about the girl he had been crushing on since they'd first met.
Meanwhile, at Erica's
Sighing in relief, Erica put down the phone and looked at the baby in her arms. He had finally stopped suckling on her chest and was now gurgling happily, his clear blue eyes shining.
"Well now that your done how about we go with your siblings and see if there's any note in your basket."
As if he could understand her, he opened his mouth, and promptly spit a big-ass raspberry in her face.
"Oh ha ha very funny, so funny that I forgot to laugh." she replied, wiping her face with a free hand.
When she placed him back in the basket he fell instantly asleep. As she walked toward her room, feeling all of the cracks and bumps of the worn floor, she wondered what she was going to do with these kids. Adopting them could be an answer, she could afford it. Or she could do something else, like put them in foster care, they were incredibly cute and would probably be paired together. That was her plan, until she remembered that two of them had wings. All she had to say to that was SHIT! Well at least she would try to be a good mom. Even though she had no idea what the fuck to do. "Eh, if I don't know it I'll learn." she said shrugging. She then turned and went down the hall toward her room.

Kicking open the old oak door of her bedroom, Erica calm walked in with the basket in her arms, the children inside started to stir from the loud kick. Before she could sit down on the bed, she arranged the pillows around the edges so the babies wouldn't fall onto the floor. But before she even put the basket down on the bed she realized she had to do something that couldn't be put off.
She had to pee, very very badly.
"Note to self, before you leave work, don't be a god damn idiot and drink almost an entire gallon of coffee and soda." she grumbled to herself, as she headed for the bathroom
. . . . .Then stomping back to the bedroom to set the basket down gently on the bed, cursing herself for being such an idiot. As she was washing her hands she heard one of them start to cry, again, though this crying was softer, and sounded scared. Having that motherly feeling click back into place, she quickly turned off the water and raced back toward the bed to see which one was crying like that.
As she reached the bed she realized that the child crying wasn't bubble, like she expecting. He was one of them with wings, except his were canary yellow. As she cradled the light pink haired child to her body, she looked him over to see what was wrong. He wasn't wet, or hungry, his diaper wasn't even full, so why was he crying. Just as she was about to put him down she noticed something shiny under his neck, after a closer look she saw that it was a necklace with some kind of charm on the end of it.the day I meet the son of a bitch who had the audacity to abandon these kids, WILL GET MY FOOT UP THEIR ASS! A necklace on an infant, was this person sane!? she yelled inside her head as she eased the necklace off. The charm turned out to by a butterfly made of jewels and what looked like gold. Hmm, what's this on the back? It looks like a word or a name. she thought to herself as she wiped the smudges on the back of the charm with the edge of her shirt, the baby in her arms calmly staring up at her with dark turquoise eyes.
"Aha! Finally, now what does this say? I think its a name, wait, Butterscotch ?! Who would name there kid that". Erica said to herself, puzzled at the name choice for the baby cuddled in her arms.
But, she couldn't think on his strange name, for the rest of the babies had woken up and were now bawling their eyes out for attention. Without thinking Erica started to sing a song she had always sang to calm her younger sister.

Thank the lord in heaven. she thought as they calmed down. The smile dropped from her face as she thought of her sister. Her eyes began to tear up a little as she remembered how close they had been, until . . . . .
Erica couldn't do it she couldn't bring up or talk about what had happened last year, she could never take back those words that had been said, by both her and her sister. Erica put the child in her arms on the bed and buried her face in her hands, not even trying to silence the sob as it came out her throat. How could Amy do that? Why? I lost Lucy because of our dumb fighting. Erica thought to herself as another sob broke out, this time full of sadness and pain of ones lost. Before she let out a wail, she felt many warm bodies in her lap, in her moment of sadness the idea of seven infants watching her breakdown had slipped her mind.
"It's okay guys" she said to them while wiping her eyes "I just thought of something very sad, and it made me upset, don't worry about me, now lets see if we can get all of you names."
"Mommy? Mama?"
Erica froze, she did not just hear infants, who were no older then a few days old say "Mommy", there was no way. She opened her eyes and slowly turned her head toward them, waiting to hear those words. She found all of them staring at her and saw that they all had various eye colors, the strangest were the rainbow haired boy and the boy with dark blue hair and two streaks of pink and purple, the former having rose colored eyes and the latter a deep purple.
"Mommy? Mama?"
There it was again, and it came from the dark blue haired boy with the streaks and another boy with purple hair. Each had necklaces with different symbols on them, which told her that the person who abandoned them was probably a stoner or hippie.
"Either I'm completely off my rocker, or the two of you are very smart. . . I'm going to assume that your really smart." Erica said, shaking her head softly.
Since all of them were calmed down it was easier to get the necklaces off and find out what their names were. She had to admit, they had the strangest names she had ever seen, and she used to be a mid-wife at the local hospital. The purple haired boy was named Elusive, and had a purple charm on his necklace(All the necklaces were put in the basket so the babies wouldn't choke). The rainbow haired boy was named Rainbow Blitz, and had a lightning bolt shaped charm, although the coloring of said charm was a bold red. Bubble, the pink-haired boy was named Bubble berry, and had a blue balloon charm on his necklace. The dark blue haired boy with the streaks was named Dusk Shine, and had a strange star like symbol on his necklace. The blonde of the group was asleep in an old Stetson by the time she picked him up. His name was Apple jack, and had a shiny orange apple charm on his necklace.
As she picked the baby girl, she stole a quick glance at the clock, and was astounded to see that it was almost ten. How long has it been since I came through the door? she asked herself as the girl in her arms giggled. The purple and green haired baby girl in her arms was named Spines, much to Erica's confusion, until she saw that the babe's hair was very spiky, almost resembling the dragon spines that she had seen in old pictures. Spines necklace was a white and black jewels in the shape of an old fashioned quill and pot of ink.
Yawning, she arranged the babies into a comfortable position in the middle of the bed, it wasn't easy, considering that they were all asleep and the wrong movement or sound would make them start crying. She fell into a very light sleep, listening to the sounds of the babies barely a few inches from her.
Many hours later, outside of Erica's house
Eric pulled into his friend's driving, blinking as the first light of dawn came seeping threw the trucks windows, God was he tired, he hadn't even bothered to try and get some sleep, he drove straight threw the entire night. As he stepped out of his truck and went to the front door, he couldn't help but wonder why Erica would need him to come here so badly. Usually if she needed a video edited they would do it over video chat or she would wait a few days until he was free and could come and see her.
"Well whatever it is it must be important enough that I had to miss out on my nine hours." he said aloud, rubbing the faint, yet dark circles under his eyes as he used the hey Erica gave him and entered Erica's home.
