Princess Celestia and her sister Luna are contacted by an advanced race of sentient beings from the stars. At first they ask for help, after the destruction of their world by means unbeknownst to Celestia and Luna, they offer technology in exchange for the magical aide of Equestria's Unicorns and/or Alicorns, as well as some of the resources from their planet to help with their survival. Luna sees no problem in this, and believes an alliance with this odd race that needs to wear masks on their planet just to breathe would be extremely beneficial to the well being of Equestria. But Celestia can't help but feel that it's all too good to be true, and her dreams which seem like premonitions don't seem to help this either.

The future is uncertain, but all roads lead to the same path. Celestia is certain of this, it's just a matter of preparing for the horrendous things that are to come, if that's even possible.
