We are the Zodiacs

I could see it from here, the house we targeted. One of the richer residents. Me and the other rag tag ponies/Pegasus of team Zodiac are one of the best. We are sent in for more difficult or dangerous places to gather supplies. We start heading forward."Caboose," said my brother fire hawk gesturing ahead. Caboose knowing what to do sped to the front. "Got it," he said pulling out his army grade night vision binoculars."House looks still, no movement. I believe there is a dog though." That's my cue."On it," I say. I start galloping and up I go. I can see the dog from here I start to slow and land so soft it doesn't barley here's me. I walk up to him he's a pit bull a beautiful one at that. "Hey buddy it's ok we're not going to hurt anyone," I say rubbing just behind his ear and slowly sing a lullaby. He slowly lays down but he won't wake up now even if a gun went off right beside him. I use to do it with shelter dogs or dogs about to be neutered so the would have to feel the shot. It wares of after about 1 1/2 hours which gives us plenty of time. "Ok let's go," said fire. We Pegasus fly over to make sure no one else is here while the others wait."Ok it's clear," I say. Karmine to the door and picks the lock. We head in checking everything over very carefully with our flashlights to make sure no ones here. We start searching cabinets getting all the food and supplies the other Pegasus fly up stairs to check for more supplies while I haul everything outside. Just as we got everything we could carry out I hear a car pull up. "MOVE!" We pick up everything and fly toward camp. The ponies run for cover. We slow down once we get there landings a bit rough considering camp is in the forest but we manage. Once we get inside everypony starts gathering around. We take all the supplies to commander. "Good work Pegasus, but where is the rest of your team?" He asked. "Someone came home right as we were leaving, we were able to fly away quickly enough but everyone else had to hide," I responded. He nodded his head signaling us to return to our bunks. (I wonder what they could be doing right now) italics I thought as I returned to my bunk I hope there all ok I said to myself right before I fell asleep. I was one of the last ones to wake up, everyone else was eager for food. My stomach growled, I realized I to am eager for food. I head to the "eating quarters" which was just an oversized kitchen we found. Of course my team is the last in line. I am glad to see them all there. Fire hawk as you could probably tell from the beginning is my brother, and the leader of team zodiac he was best fit for the job. Then I front of him was Caboose, although no one knows his real name, is our technology expert. In front of him karmine our lock picker/spy is a sneaky as the come. After him we have our gathers Chem and fem the two Pegasis who gather the supplies after we Check to make sure no ones in the house. Finally always at the front of the line bulk our security if we encounter anyone he Is there to protect us. And then there is me, my name is night hawk I work with animals mostly dogs. We may seem like bad ponies but we're doing what we can to survive the first time we landed on earth we were shot, captured, questioned, and studied. Humans were not kind to us. But we're here now no reason to dawn on the past. "How was you beauty rest sunshine," fire said sarcastically. "Shut up," I reply smiling then punching him playfully. I see what is for breakfast fresh strawberries on top of warm pancakes with syrup and a side of sausage. "Looks delicious," I say. "That's cuz it is," says Caboose already eating before he got to his table. We finished eating and headed back to our bunks. "How much longer do you think we have to live like this?" I ask. "What do you mean?" Fire asked. "Having to take from the humans we used to be kind and innocent, what has this place turned us into," I exclaimed. "Survival is tough here, we do what we have to eventually we will build our own city for more ponies to live. Just imagine," he replied. With that thought in our minds we head out to the training yard. One of my favorite times of the day I get to show that I have other skills than just talking to animals. First we start with hoove to hoove combat, my personal favorite. It's always me vs my big brother. We start circling, he goes for the first hit I dodge and grab his arm and twist him around but he sweeps my legs and I fall but in quickly jump before he has the time to strike. I take advantage of his miss and round house him right in the behind shoving him forward into a barrel roll. "Impressive little sis," he says. We start circling again this time he fakes the first strike and 180 the opposite way and then elbows me in the side of the face and I'm down for the count. "Still not as good as me though," he says. Then we move on to flight combat and weapon sparing. Afterwards we are all exhausted but it's capture the flag time. It's us vs the Alfa squad, the Alfas are brutal but the have not tactics in there strategy. That's why we are going to win. "Remember the plan," fire said. We all got ready. One hit with the gloves we have and the suits we wear will stun you in place. I made my way out around very carefully then I heard it, the screem of one of the Alfas the plan was working. I could hear all the fighting going on in the middle as I made my way as quiet as I could. I barley saw him he was hiding in the bush It was  he wanted me to see me or I wouldn't have seen him. He signals I jump into the bush. "I've spotted only two of them here," he says. "Can we take them out?" I ask. He nods, we move forward very slowly I see them. Fire hawk  counts down ...3 ...2 ...1 we jump out. We take by surprise but I wasn't quick enough he blocked and goes for me but I duck and strike his foot and he's down. We make our way around there start and we see high in a tree I use my training and run up the trunk and jump to the first branch. From there I climb to the flag and slide down the trunk and we make our way back to our base and place it for the win. The bell goes off that means we have won. I hear our team in the distance yelling for joy. Time to head back to the bunks. Everyone's high fiveing and congratulating each other. "A toast for the win team zodiac," fire said "team zodiac," we all said laughing and cheering. The food looked delicious we are about to eat good. We stuffed ourselves and headed to sleep. "Hey, wake up," It was caboose "c'mon I have something I want to show you," he said smiling nervously. I rise slowly I follow him, he leads me outside the fort walls. We arrive at an old shack, we walk in. "What's this," I ask he pulls a lever and a huge sky light opens up with a telescope in the middle of the shack. "Wow," I say. "Go  ahead, take a look," he says. I look into the telescope it's the lunar crater. "This is amazing, how did you find this," I was walking around one night and found this and have bin sneaking supplies out here," he said. He put his arm toward a bed laying right under the telescope as he moved it out of the way. I go and lay down on the bed he comes up beside me and lays down. We lay there for a while talking about the stars and I feel his arm sneak around me. I freeze, I always thought he was an awesome friend but I never thought of him this way. It's extremely nerve racking but... comforting. I decide to lean closer to him, and then I fell asleep. I slowly wake up but immediately know something is wrong I could feel people watching me. That's another power I have. I jump up, then run for the door but a soon as I make it out I felt a shot. I look at we're it hit it was a tranquilizer dart. That was it I was down and out.
