First Contact
Twilight invents a portal spell, and it takes her a little farther than she had intended. She finds herself not in a distant part of Equestria, but in a different world entirely.
Twilight Sparkle attempts to create new magic, a lasting portal from Ponyville to Canterlot, because trains are slow and teleportation is difficult. However, something goes wrong and she rips open the fabric of spacetime to find a different world on the other side. A world of order without harmony, one where the laws of nature enforce themselves with no Princesses to guide them. A world without magic and severely lacking in friendship.
