Stop Project Draconequus
Captain Francis Drake Hunter sat with his feet on his desk and a tumbler of hundred year old whiskey in his hand. He was going over the recent acquisitions, which he and his crew just “liberated” from a Cabal ship, in his head. It wasn’t one of their most profitable hauls but at least they now had enough supplies to last for a while.
While he was thinking that it was lucky he was able to convince the king that he would be of more use to the kingdom as a privateer than as a soldier, a voice came over his terminal.
“Captain.”
Hunter resumed a normal sitting position and set down his drink.
“Yes? What is Sin?”
“I was going over the data we recovered from that ship’s mainframe and discovered something I think you should see.”
“Okay, send it”
“I think it would be best to see it in the Holo-room.”
“Alright. Might as well call the others as well.”
“Good idea. See you in a few.”
As the captain entered the room, the five already in there turned to face him. These five were among his top crew members and oldest friends. The sixth was the cook, Beppe Basso, who had no use for these meetings because he’d rather focus on keeping the crew fed.
First mate Adalsinda “Sin” Engel spoke first, “Bout time you got here, Drake.”
“I still had half a glass of whiskey when you called.”
Weapons officer Eloni Koa, pu'ali replied, “And your point, Captain? I got called away from a beautiful new rifle.”
“Oi! I have repairs to get back to so can we speed this along?” said David Connolly, the head mechanic.
“Very well. Go ahead and begin Sin.”
“Of course.”
The lights dimmed and a large holographic display appeared in the room’s center.
“As I was going through the files from our recent conquest’s database, I ran across a data file titled ‘Project Draconequus’. In it are detailed plans to locate and release a being that is the embodiment of chaos. The name given this being is Discord. Normally I would dismiss this as normal Cabal mumbo jumbo, however there were coordinates to the planet on which this being is imprisoned.”
Maria Guiar, the navigator, spoke next, “I checked the maps but found nothing there.”
The hologram changed from the data file to the map of the coordinates.
“Drake, do you see what I see?” asked Yemon Kawaguchi, the medical officer.
“I think so. The stars do not appear to be affected by gravity. Everything appears to be circling around a central, but empty, point.”
“The constellations also appear familiar,” said Maria. “Give me a moment.”
After some typing, another star map appeared and was overlaid with the other map.
Maria continued, “See? Matches up almost perfectly.”
“There are some minor differences but for the most part it does.”
Sin asked, “What do you mean Drake?”
“See here on Orion, Virgo, and a few others? There are a few extra stars.”
Sin questioned, “So what sector was the overlay from?”
Maria answered, “Sol sector. Earth.”
“Okay now that’s weird,” remarked Eloni.
Sin continued, “That Cabal ship was supposed to arrive at the coordinates in two days time. If they have not contacted the High Office by the next day another ship will be sent. It will take them about eight days to reach their destination.”
“How long would it take us to get there?” Drake asked.
Maria replied, “Three days.”
“Which gives us a week to either take or destroy what they’re after. Alright set a course.”

Twilight Sparkle was in her library home experimenting with a new spell she had discovered on her latest trip to the Canterlot Archives. After this last incident at her brother’s wedding, she decided to see if there were any spells either detect non-ponies in a set area or warn of impending danger. She found both. The purple unicorn had already mastered the first spell and was now working on the second.
With her horn glowing, Twilight concentrated on weaving the spell. After a few moments she began to get glimpses of what appeared to be a sea-going vessel travelling amongst the stars and bi-pedal creatures wielding strange metal tools that flung tiny metal chunks. Then there were different ones of the same species, wearing long hooded robes. These ones appeared to be worshipping the imprisoned Discord. The final vision was of Discord being unleashed upon the universe.
With a loud yelp Twilight came out of her trance.
“You okay Twilight?”
“I’m fine Spike.” She replied to the green and purple dragon. “I just dozed off for a bit and had a bad dream.”
With a yawn Spike replied, “Alright. Night.”
“Give me a moment; I need you to send a letter to the princess.”
She proceeded to write a letter to Princess Celestia that laid out the details of her visions. She also asked if either princess had any clues as to what they could mean.
“Please send this off.”
With a flash of green flame the letter was on its way.
