We'll Face Ourselves
Two Heads are Better Than One...Unless you're Twilight
Previous ChapterNext ChapterThe colt standing before Twilight was none other than what her parents had said to be her uncle; pale blue coat, yellow slick hair, cobalt blue eyes. It was hard to believe they were related: other than the fact they were both unicorns. He wore thick black glasses and a suit: he must be in his work uniform.
"Hello, you must be Twilight, right?" The colt asked.
"Uh huh, Twilight Sparkle. Nice to meet you." Twilight nodded in greeting.
"I'm Watch Light. I work at the Ponyville Police Department. I'm also your uncle." The colt said as he shuffled to the right. "Hey, Sparkles, come on out." He looked behind him, and a single tiny head poked out from behind the colt.
"I don't wanna." 'Sparkles' refused to come out.
"Come on, Little Spark, come on out and introduce yourself!" Watch Light urged, pushing the filly out in front of him. The filly called "Little Sparks" shared Watch Light's eye color: colbalt blue. She had bright pink fur and a golden mane that was is two curly low ponytails. Twilight also noticed she was a pegasus. Perhaps a genetic trait from her mother?
".......'lo." Little Spark said in a embarrased squeaky voice. She shyly hid behind Watch Light in a hurry, grasping his hooves. She then forcefully hit Watch Light's hooves with her muzzle before backing out behind him again.
"Erm...she's my daughter. Forgive her shyness." Watch Light sheepishly said, rubbing the back of his neck.
"Little Spark...was it?" Twilight asked kindly, trying to bond with the little filly.
"...uh huh."
"Well, it's nice to meet you, I'm Twilight Sparkle." Twilight Sparkle bended down and smiled warmly.
Little Spark blushed and clutched Watch Light's hooves tighter.
"Anyway, let's go. We can stop at the bakery on the way to my house." Watch Light suggested.
They then began to trot off.
Finally, Twilight reached the bakery. It was a "think pink" bakery with shades of magenta head to toe.
She trotted in the bakery and used her horn to shut the door after Watch Light and his daughter came in.
Watch Light motioned to the cashier. "I'll have the usual, please. Extra for the purple mare Twilight here; she just got here from the city."
The cashier happily nodded. Watch Light trotted with Little Spark towards the bathroom.
"Hey, come over here!" A bubbly voice caught Twilight's attention. It was the cashier.
Twilight reluctantly galloped over. "Er...yes?"
"Are you a high school student?"
"Uh, yes.." Twilight was nervous by the sudden question but she nodded, rubbing the back of her neck.
"Oooh, ooh, it must be hard for you to get used to life like this. It's reeeally quiet. Most people like you end up either spending time with friends or working part time at jobs." The cashier went on, bringing out a plate of donuts.
"I just got here though.....", said Twilight, picking up a pink frosted donut and biting into it, "but I'll get used to it."
"Speaking of," the cashier said, looking around, "we're looking for workers right now. It'd be great if you could help! Give it some thought! We don't really care if you're still in school!" The cashier mare offered her hoof. Twilight shook it, and the cashier walked off, just as Little Spark ran to her.
Suddenly, Twilight felt pain in her head and she grasped her forehead in exhaustion.
"Are you okay? You look a bit sick.." Little Spark sakd, worried.
"....it's probably just the donut. I might not have eaten a fully made one or something." Twilight reassured, but she herself didn't know why she suddenly had a headache.
Watch Light came to Twilight, picked up the donut plate with his horn and motioned to the door. Twilight nodded and they began to head home.
At Watch Light's house, the three of them were at a table, food neatly prepared in front of them.
The phone suddenly rang, and Watch Light suddenly hurried to get it.
"Yes, uh huh, where to? Okay, g'bye.' Watch Light turned to Little Spark. "I have buisness to attend to, Twilight, you take care of Sparkles, okay?" He left with a simple goodbye.
The news announcer's voice picked up on the TV in front of them.
"City council secretary Brave Guard has been set under suspicion and under fire after seeings of an unaccounted relationship with a mare reporter. His wife, Peaceful Ballad, stated she will take up all damages. In response, Starlet Television will stop showing appearances of Flowing Melody, the announcer. Until further notice, there will be no televised appearances of this mare."
Pictures of each pony showed up at each name accordingly.
"This is boring. I'm gonna change the channel." Little Spark pressed a button on the remote control. Happy music sounded and a jingle played.
"As you know, every day at Sugarcube Corner is Customer Appreciation Day! Come over and see for yourself!" It was a commercial.
"Everyday's great at your Sugarcube!" The jingle sounded again, and the announcer sang to it. Little Spark sang along.
"Hey, aren't you going to eat? It'll get cold." Little Spark looked worried.
Twilight said nothing but reluctantly ate her food.
Afterwards, Twilight went upstairs and went on her bed.
I'm spending a whole lot of time here...
I hope it's as fun as it sounds....
Twilight's eyes fluttered closed, and her mind drifted into sleep.
