A school day in the life of Vinyl Scratch.
Morning: School Preparation.
Vinyl Scratch suddenly woke up to eardrum ringing dubstep music that blasted from her alarm. She leapt out of her bed and bobbed her head to the beat.
"Awww yeah! Another day, another party!" she yelled.
She kicked away a soda can that was lying by her bed, which landed in the bin.
"SCORE!" she shouted, standing on her hind hooves and flailing her front hooves in the air.
She looked frantically around her room, still dancing to the loud music.
"Where's my calendar again?" she wondered, rubbing her chin with her hoof.
She continued to look around the room, then saw her calendar on the floor. She ran up to it and studied it intently.
"Wednesday? But wasn't yesterday Friday?" she tried to remember the previous night.
Vinyl had been to a large party last night organised by herself. In fact, the night before she had been to a party she set up. And the night before that. In fact, the last few years were filled with a party every night.
"Whatever." she laughing, dragging her alarm downstairs.
Using her unicorn magic, Vinyl opened a cupboard. It was full of CDs, but she rummaged around and found a beat up cereal box which read 'Celesti-Os'.
"Alright! Got some grub!" she sang, holding the box over an empty bowl.
Nothing came out of the box. Vinyl shook it vigorously but still nothing came out. She lifted it with her magic and looked inside to see nothing in there.
"Ah well, guess I'm missing breakfast today." she said.
She opened the cupboard and put the cereal box in its place at the back again and returned to her room.
She opened a neon-blue bag and pulled out books from it with her unicorn magic. The books were in a rough state and looked like they had doodles all over them.
"Right...Wednesday....Wednesday...ah!" she found her timetable for the day on her planner.
She scattered books around the room using magic and found others lying around, put them in her bag and closed it.
"Bag done!" she yelled over her music.
She walked over to her alarm and slammed her hoof on a button which turned off the music. She then searched the mess of her bed and found an uPod (unicornPod) and plugged in the ear buds, switched it to full volume and began to play more music. Then she grabbed a pair of purple shades from her desk, which was covered in clutter and rubbish, and put them over her magenta eyes.
"LET'S SPIN THIS!" she yelled, running out the front door to the train station.
Canterlot High Express: Journey to School
Vinyl Scratch stood at the platform wildly bobbing her head to her music, unable to notice the pony behind her.
"Vinyl?" she asked.
Vinyl didn't hear her.
"Vinyl..." the pony sighed.
She tapped Vinyl's shoulder and the white pony turned around.
"OH! HEY OCTAVIA!" Vinyl yelled, not knowing that nopony else could hear her music.
Octavia gestured with her hoof for Vinyl to turn down the volume.
"WHAT? ON THE GROUND?" Vinyl misunderstood.
Octavia's gestures became more frantic.
"DROP THE BASS? SILLY, THAT ALREADY HAPPENED ON THIS SONG!"
Octavia sighed and took out Vinyl Scratch's earphones. The music boomed out of them as if they were a stereo.
"Sorry, Vinyl, would you mind turning down the volume on your music?" Octavia sighed.
"Aw sure, dude. you coulda just asked!" Vinyl laughed.
Octavia sighed for a third time. The train then arrived and Vinyl ran on before anypony else could board.
"DIBS ON THE SODA!" she yelled, galloping towards the snack cart.
She ran up to the counter and lifted her sunglasses up. The pony behind rolled her eyes.
"Hello, Vinyl Scratch. What'll it be today?" she asked.
"Same as always, Mrs.Cake! Soda!" Vinyl said, licking her lips
"That'll be 2 bits. As always." the blue pony said.
"Aw, man!" Vinyl whined, looking in her school bag, "forgot to bring the money again! Put it on a tab?"
Mrs.Cake sighed, "your tab is now at 54 bits."
"Thanks, Mrs.Cake dude!" Vinyl smiled and trotted off to find Octavia.
She found her a few carriages down in the quiet car. She was quite peacefully resting her eyes until Vinyl slammed her drink down on the table, opened it, loudly gulped it down and let loose a huge belch.
"That was gnarly! Six out of ten, am I right?" she beamed at Octavia.
"Charming," Octavia said, "if you are going to be loud then we might as well move to another carriage."
"Sounds cool!" Vinyl laughed.
First/Second Period: Double History.
Vinyl bashed her head against the desk repeatedly. If there was any lesson she hated the most, it was history. A double of it was bad for her too.
"...and can we explain why this is, Vinyl?" the teacher said, only those words being heard by Vinyl.
"Uh...er..." she stuttered.
"Pssssst...." Trixie whispered, "the answer is four!"
"Four!" Vinyl enthusiastically replied.
The teacher stared at her for a moment as if to say 'what?'.
"So, the pony pioneers discovered the frontier land and built upon it because four?" the teacher sighed.
"Ah," Vinyl shook her head, "should've been listening. Sorry."
She glared at Trixie, who was giggling loudly.
Vinyl then looked next to her to see Octavia sweating and straining with her hoof high in the air making 'mm' sounds to get the teacher's attention.
"Octavia?" the teacher finally asked.
"The pony pioneers discovered the frontier land and built upon it to rebuild the previous down which was destroyed by windigos due to the king's hated which they had earlier dealt with using the strong bonds of the town's locals, however the king did not survive and his successor, Blueblood the Second followed to build and rule over the new town. The windigos were formed when the king heard there was a more powerful unicorn than he in the land and decided to banish this unicorn forever. The unicorn's name was Starswirl the Bearded, who-" the teacher placed her hoof on Octavia's mouth.
"Yes, yes. We understand now. Thank you, Octavia." she sighed.
Vinyl drifted out again and luckily was not asked any other questions for the rest of the lesson.
Third Period: Music
Vinyl was not allowed to have her music classes in the same room as everypony else. She was always making dubstep on the computers at a volume so loud it felt like the music from her headphones was coming through everypony else's. Instead she had a whole soundproof room to her own. Her teacher crept in, levitating earmuffs with his magic.
"Okay, Vinyl, what have you got up to today?" he asked.
Vinyl turned around and smiled widely, then pulled the teacher up to her with her magic and put her hoof around him.
"Alright, music teacher bro! You gotta hear this! It's wicked!" she said in one breath.
The teacher sighed and put on his earmuffs.
Exclusion.
Vinyl Scratch was sent home early for almost bursting her music teacher's eardrums with dubstep music. He was in the hospital and immediately requested she was put on exclusion for the day as punishment. Vinyl slowly walked to her computer and opened up PonyHoof.

A school day in the life of Rainbow Dash.
Morning: School Preparation.
"Alright, what time is it?" she yawned, "woah."
The clock displayed '8:22'. Rainbow Dash had been reading all night and morning and was nearly late to catch the train. She quickly got together her bag and zoomed out the door.
Canterlot High Express: Journey to School
Rainbow Dash managed to board the train just as it was leaving. She quickly found Fluttershy sat at a table on her own.
"Hey, Fluttershy!" Rainbow Dash smiled.
"Oh, hello Rainbow Dash." Fluttershy said.
"Where's everypony else?" Rainbow Dash asked.
"In the other carriages. This is the quiet cart. Octavia and Vinyl Scratch were just here but Vinyl was being too loud and she had to move." Fluttershy whispered.
"Oh right. Well you look a little lonely, so I'll sit with you." Rainbow Dash said.
Periods 1/2: Double Physical Education
Rainbow Dash loved Wednesdays. Her favourite day only because of starting the day with double physical education, but this morning she was not in the mood. She was tired from reading all night. She attempted an obstacle course seven times but failed each time, crashing into a wall or tripping over a hurdle.
"Today not your day, Rainbow Dash?" the teacher asked.
"I was up all night." she sighed.
"At another of Vinyl Scratch's parties?" the teacher returned a sigh.
"No I was uh...just...whatever." Rainbow Dash didn't want to tell her favourite teacher that his most athletic student was READING a CHILD'S book all night.
At least she hadn't lied. A party would've lightened her mood. She knew Vinyl threw one every night but she had been too engrossed in her Daring Do books to attend any.
Period 3: Biology
Nope. Rainbow Dash fell asleep.
Lunch
Rainbow Dash had once again forgotten her lunch in the rush to get to the train station on time.
"Fluttershy...I forgot my lunch again. Mind if I-" Fluttershy sighed and pushed her lunch bag over to Rainbow Dash.
"Thanks." said Rainbow Dash, forcing a smile.
Twilight tutted and shook her head, lowering the phone she held with her magic.
"Vinyl Scratch is throwing another party." she sighed.
Rainbow Dash perked up and brought out her phone. She saw on PonyHoof about Vinyl's party and pressed like, thinking 'I am so there!'.
"I hope nopony is planning to go. Her parties last all night and you get no revision or homework done." Twilight complained.
Everypony shook their heads slowly. Except for Fluttershy and Twilight, they always enjoyed Vinyl's parties.
Period 4: Cooking
By now Rainbow Dash was wide awake and ready to concentrate, but another problem arose from her rushing to school; she forgot the ingredients for her cooking practical. Applejack laughed and trotted up to her.
"It's partner work, sugarcube. I remembered mine. Pony up with me." she smiled.
"Thanks, Applejack!" Rainbow Dash beamed.
The two worked well together and made three apple pies. Two of which were made by Applejack, the one by Rainbow Dash looked a little off shape, but was otherwise perfect. Rainbow Dash got a B-grade; apparently it was a 'tad undercooked'. This teacher, she did not like.
Period 5: English
"Okay class, who has read a good book recently?" the teacher asked.
Rainbow Dash subconsciously shot her hoof up, then quickly back own again, but the teacher had already spotted her.
"Rainbow Dash? Oh, this is a change. Stand in front of the class and explain the story." she smiled.
Rainbow Dash slowly and nervously trotted to the front and looked around. All the popular ponies were there; no way was she going to retell the child's book Daring Do in front of them.
"It was a...comic book...about a pony war in the future. Yeah! And there was this pony who wanders outside of her home and goes on this huge adventure, meets other ponies and...a lot of stuff happens." she made up on the spot.
"Comic books are not proper literature, Rainbow Dash. Sit down." the teacher said seriously.
Home Time
What a short and bad day. Rainbow Dash slumped at her chair in her room and logged onto PonyHoof.

A school day in the life of Fluttershy.
Morning: School Preparation.
Angel Bunny leapt to Fluttershy's bed and repeatedly stamped on her head. She coiled under the covers.
"Just five more minutes, Angel Bunny." she whispered with a yawn.
Angel slapped his face then grabbed a bucket and held it out the window. There was a storming downfall of rain which quickly filled the bucket. He jumped back onto the bed and threw the water onto Fluttershy, causing her to scream loudly.
Exhaling loudly from the shock of the water, Fluttershy crept out of bed and wore the dressing gown she had thrown on the floor.
"Alright Angel. You win, I'm up." she sighed softly.
When she trotted downstairs, she gasped at the sight before her. All the cupboards were open and her own food lay everywhere. She started to sweat and panic.
"Angel! We've been robbed!" she screamed.
Angel shook his head and pointed at his stomach, which then growled loudly. Fluttershy giggled and wiped away the sweat from her forehead.
"Angel, you know I have a super top-secret hiding place for your food. It's not in the kitchen." she petted him gently on the head, not noticing his unamused expression.
Fluttershy quickly darted under the staircase and came back with some carrots before Angel could see where she had gone. She gave them to him and he greedily snatched them and ate them in only a few seconds. Fluttershy giggled again and tidied up the mess of her food all over the floor, then prepared a small salad for herself, but she heard a deep whistle faintly. She almost choked on a leaf and gasped, flying upstairs to her room quickly. She grabbed her bag and shot out the door, then slowly flew back and closed it and darted off again in the intense rain.
"Oh no! Oh no! Ohno ohno ohno! I'm gonna miss the train!" she cried.
Luckily she lived quite close to the station, but just as she arrived the train had almost left the station.
"NO!" she cried.
She then saw a green hoof stick out of an open door and heard a voice.
"Fluttershy, grab on, quickly!"
She galloped up to the platform and managed to hold onto the hoof and with little effort was pulled in. Fluttershy shook herself dry and looked at the pony that had helped her to see that it was Lyra Heartstrings; a pony Fluttershy had not talked to much before.
"Thank you so, so much Lyra!" Fluttershy smiled.
"Any time." said Lyra, returning a smile.
Canterlot High Express: Journey to School
Fluttershy looked behind Lyra to see Bon Bon and Carrot Top giggling quietly.
"What's wrong, girls?" Fluttershy asked.
The two couldn't stop giggling, then Fluttershy looked down and saw she was still wearing her pink frilly dressing gown. She blushed and galloped to the bathroom.
"Fluttershy?" Lyra called, knocking on the door.
"No! Go away! I'm not coming out until we get to school or until your friends stop laughing at me!" she cried.
"I promise, they won't laugh. You should take off your gown." said Lyra.
The door opened slightly and Fluttershy peered through and saw Lyra smiling. She opened the door fully and walked out, smiling back.
"You wanna sit with us? We're just doing the mathematics homework. Hard stuff!" Lyra laughed.
"Oh, that would be great! I've done the homework, I can help you with it." Fluttershy replied.
Period 1: Cooking
Today was theory and it became quite traumatic for Fluttershy. They were investigating the diets of carnivores. After viewing a picture of a bear eating a rabbit, Fluttershy passed out and was quickly taken to the medical room by Octavia, who was not too fond of the images herself.
Period 3: Music
Fluttershy eventually woke up and just in time for music class. She excused her lateness with a note from the nurse which read 'for the third time this week, Fluttershy has fainted during a class.'. The teacher was a substitute since the main teacher was in hospital due to a 'work-related incident'. She sat down in a seat by Rarity.
"Now class, today we are going to start a new project. It will be a group project where you will work in twos." the teacher announced.
Fluttershy and Rarity looked at each other and giggled.
"Singing ponies must pair with instrumental ponies." he said.
The music classes are split into two groups; the singing ponies and the instrumental ponies. What they do is rather self-explanitory. Both Rarity and Fluttershy were singing ponies, they could not go together.
Fluttershy looked around for a partner, but it seemed that everypony was already paired up. Even Rarity got in a group fast. Then at the back she saw Lyra also looking around frantically. Fluttershy waved to her with a smile and she quickly joined her.
"You're an insturmental pony, right, Lyra?" Fluttershy asked.
"Sure am! I play the lyre!" Lyra beamed.
"We should so go in a pair!" Fluttershy smiled.
The two high-hooved and began to plan out a song, which was the simple assignment their teacher had prepared.
Lunch
Fluttershy had to hand in an art project at lunch and despite the appauling weather outside, she was not allowed to enter through the inside corridor because somepony had puked up in there. She was terrified of the outside way because that was where the bad ponies hung out. She entered the path they usually stayed on and avoided all eye-contact she could.
"Hey, hey, hey, Fluttershy!" one of them yelled.
"Eaten any rabbits lately?" another laughed.
"Ignore them, Fluttershy. Ignore them." she whispered to herself.
"Looks like somepony's getting all wet in the rain!" a third mocked.
Fluttershy had to swallow a laugh. These ponies were all idiots. One of them couldn't look at that picture either and they were ALL stood in the rain too. She finally entered the art department and handed in her work. Thankfully, the bullies were gone on her way back.
Fourth Period: Physical Education
If there was any lesson Fluttershy really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really disliked, it was P.E. She was especially dreading this lesson. Fiee-For-All-Pony-Dodgeball. Fluttershy normally hid in the corner, but it seemed that it was the jocks of all ponies who werent playing. They loved to get rough! There were only a few ponies there.
The teacher blew the whistle and ponies galloped around randomly. Needless to say this was a quick lesson for Fluttershy. She was looking around in a sense of overwhelming panic and then saw Shining Armor directly across from her, staring her dead on in the eyes. He lifted a dodgeball with magic. Fluttershy was too scared to move. He then launched it with a ton of magic force, causing everypony standing by its path to be knocked over.
"FLUTTERSHY! LOOK OUT!" Fluttershy heard before sheilding her face with her hooves.
BAM. "ARGH!" Bop..bop..bop...bopbopopopppp.....
The ball hit something, then hit the ground along with whatever it hit. Whoever.
Fluttershy opened her eyes and gasped.
"Lyra!" she cried.
The green pony coughed. Shining Armor quickly ran up to her as everypony else stared.
"Oh my gosh! Lyra! I am so sorry...it's my magic..I just don't know what went wrong!" he said.
"It's fine, dude," Lyra smiled, "Fluttershy, mind taking me to the medical room?"
Fluttershy nodded and lifted Lyra up, one hoof over her shoulder.
Fifth Period: (Lesson missed, spent in medical room)
Fluttershy walked into the medical room and the nurse sighed.
"Fluttershy? This is the second time today. What's happened now?"
"Oh, sorry Nurse Redheart, it's not me. It's Lyra. She was hit hard in P.E." Fluttershy explained.
The rest of the lesson, Fluttershy sat by Lyra's side. She just needed a while to get her breath back as she had been winded by the ball. The two exchanged jokes and opinions on different lessons and students.

A school day in the life of Lyra Heartstrings.
Morning: School Preparation.
As usual, Lyra was up early getting some lyre practise in before she ate breakfast. Her morning was organised and easy. She already had her bag ready and hanging on the doorknob and she was just preparing some cereal then calmly left to catch the train to school.
Canterlot High Express: Journey to School
Lyra quickly found Bon Bon and Carrot Top at the train station, they had very worried expressions on their faces. She covered them with the umbrella she was levitating.
"What's up guys?" she asked.
"Neither of us have done the maths homework. We're doomed." Carrot Top cried.
Lyra's hooves began to shake.
"Oh buck, I didn't do it either." she sighed.
"Maybe we could finish it on the train?" Bon Bon croaked.
"Good idea." Carrot Top nodded.
The train arrived and everypony got on. Lyra was about to close the door to the carriage as the train began to move but she saw somepony flying up to the platform.
"Fluttershy?" she whispered.
She then saw that the train was about to leave the platform completely. She stuck out a hoof.
"Fluttershy, grab on, quickly!" she yelled
The yellow pegasus was just in time to grab her hoof. Lyra managed to pull her up and close the door without any effort. She laughed as Fluttershy shook herself dry. Fluttershy was a pony that Lyra didn't interact with much but the two considered each other as friends.
"Thank you so, so much Lyra!" Fluttershy smiled.
"Any time." said Lyra, returning a smile.
Fluttershy looked behind Lyra to see Bon Bon and Carrot Top giggling quietly.
"What's wrong, girls?" Fluttershy asked.

"Fifth," Lyra said, "just before school ends."
"Ah right. Well let's get this over with." Carrot Top sighed.
Period 1: Biology
"Honestly, that pony has parties EVERY night, is excluded almost EVERY day. I can't imagine what her parents must think of her. Infact..." Twilight Sparkle was having a rant about Vinyl Scratch's lifestyle again.
Nopony was listening; they were all focused on finishing their baking soda volcano before the lesson ended so they had nothing to work on over the weekend.
"Lyra, mind adding the vinegar for a first try?" Carrot Top asked.
"Sure!" Lyra smiled.
The used her magic to pick up the bottle of vinegar and carefully poured it into the basin. It began to foam up and everypony watched in awe; even Twilight had shut up. Lyra was still pouring, but nopony noticed and she had added too much. A hole burst in the side of the basin and foam blasted right in Lyra's face.
"Agh! My eyes!" she yelled.
"Somepony get some water!" Twilight cried.
Raindrops ran to a sink and poured an empty basin with water, then poured it over Lyra. Her vinegar problem was over, but now her mane was like a wet rag. She simply laughed.
"Thanks! Now I smell of vinegar and I'm drenched!" she said, still giggling.
Period 2: Dance
Thank Celestia that Lyra had dance. There were hairdryers in the changing rooms. Nothing much happened that lesson.
Period 3: Music
Lyra was sat at the back as everypone else chattered away to the pony sat next to them. The substitute teacher was about to talk when a tired looking Fluttershy walked in late and handed him a note.

Lyra could see that everypony were looking at each other, but she couldn't see anypony looking at her.

Lyra had just given in an important art project and exited through the side door. She then stopped and watched as some ponies tormented Fluttershy as she walked to and entered the art block. She looked very hurt by their comments despite trying not to show it. Lyra stormed up to the ponies.
"Hey! You guys!" she yelled.
"Oh, look, it's Heartstrings! Hey, hey, did you put those in your bag?" one laughed.
Lyra surpressed a laugh at the pony's idiocy, then wore a serious and angry expression.
"Fluttershy is a sweet and sensetive mare. You should NOT make fun of her like that. How would YOU like it if somepony took the hay out of you because of something you've done? Hey, tubby?" she pointed at a large pony, who jumped slightly. Lyra moved her hoof around to point at other ponies.
"Dumb Bell? Cougherlane? And don't get me started on Flim and Flam and their repeated mechanics which blow up in their face!"
The ponies shriveled back and Lyra pushed herself right into Thunderlane's face.
"You better leave Fluttershy alone, otherwise it could get bad for you. P.E is next, right? Messy, too. We don't want that, DO WE?"
Thunderlane gulped, nodded and ran away. The other four ponies quickly followed. Lyra smirked and walked off calmly.
Fourth Period: Physical Education
The teacher announced that the class would be playing 'Free-For-All-Pony-Dodgeball'. Lyra glared at the bullies from lunchtime, warning them to leave Fluttershy alone. Usually they would love to play and hurt other ponies, but Lyra's threat had scared them silly and they decided not to play.
Lyra dodged balls impressively, then saw Shining Armor unleash a ball with huge force and Fluttershy at the other end cowering. Lyra couldn't let this happen to a pony as soft as Fluttershy!
"FLUTTERSHY! LOOK OUT!" she yelled, diving infront of Fluttershy and taking the hard impact from the ball on her torso, "ARGH!"
She exhaled loudly as she was winded by the ball.
"Lyra!" Fluttershy cried.
Lyra spluttered and coughed. Shining Armor quickly ran up to her as everypony else stared.
"Oh my gosh! Lyra! I am so sorry...it's my magic..I just don't know what went wrong!" he said.
"It's fine, dude," Lyra smiled, "Fluttershy, mind taking me to the medical room?"
Fluttershy nodded and lifted Lyra up, one hoof over her shoulder.
Fifth Period: (Lesson missed, spent in medical room)
Lyra followed Fluttershy as she heard an amusing conversation. The nurse thought Fluttershy was returning to the medical room.
"Oh, sorry Nurse Redheart, it's not me. It's Lyra. She was hit hard in P.E." Fluttershy explained.
