Imagine a world, where colorful little ponies spent their days doing nothing but laughing and playing. Imagine the sound of their hooves as they frolicked, the breeze flowing through their manes. They didn't have a care in the world, and neither did anypony at that point. Unfortunately, we are not in that story. The world that we are in is colorless, no sun shines here. There is barley any of us left...I haven't seen a single other pony yet. But, that's because, well, I haven't gone back yet. Pfft. Some Element of Loyalty you are. Abandoning the ponies you cared about the most, for what?  I wish I knew the answer.

I argued with myself for quite awhile, fighting with my own wings as they tried to take off to return home.

"Are you crazy?! Who knows what could be waiting there!" I yelled at them. They seemed to flap in reply.

"You know you want to Rainbow Dash. Come on..one little peek won't hurt, right?" They cooed at me. I groaned, bringing my hoof to my face. I sighed, and let them spread out. They used to shine when in the sun, but now they are matted and dirty. When was the last time I preened? Oh ya! It was the day before....

My thoughts trailed off, and a single tear threatened to slide down my cheek. I would not let it.

"Let's go...before more memories start popping up." I can't believe i'm arguing with my wings! I must be going into freak out mode. I gingerly took a step off the cloud I had been on for several days, and immediately began to drop. I suddenly remembered that I actually had to flap my wings if I wanted to get places. I began pushing upwards, ash and dust made it hard to see.

"Come...on..." I gritted my teeth. My hooves finally touched the edge of the cloud again, and I was panting.

"Whoa, I need a serious work out." I stretched my wings as far as they would go. I shook out my head, dust flaked off of me and made me sneeze. I forced myself to focus. I couldn't keep stalling; I knew I would have to face Ponyville sooner or later. I pulled myself off the cloud once more, this time with a bit more ease, and made my way to Ponyville. I scanned the ground as a flew, like I would do on any other normal day.
