The Equestrian Scrolls: A New Eraby ColvaMoon5ChaptersPrologue: A Jealous SisterChapter 1: A Simple MissionChapter 1.5: The DealPrologue: A Jealous SisterA thousand years ago, two sisters ruled the land known as Equestria. The eldest raised the sun, while the younger sister reigned over the moon. For generations, this had played out. Yet, in the mind of one of the sisters, something sinister was brewing. In a castle, situated within a large forest, a horse with a flowing rainbow mane, and white coat, laid in her bed, tossing and turning. For, on this night, only she would know how close Equis came to destruction. She thinks it's sooo hard, having to make the night sky. She knows NOTHING of hardship. While she lazies about, only having to tend to the moon and stars, we've been the one keeping this kingdom together. It is us that has the eyes of a nation looking at, and all SHE does is laze about, like she was taking an afternoon nap. No, she is too young to truly understand what we are going through. She knows, and she laughs at our hardships. She knows that we barely get anytime to ourselves, because we keep the barbarians at bay. Well, we should be more like Luna. What do you mean? I'm saying that we should just keep the sun up. Just for a little while. We've deserved a rest. Maybe... And, don't you worry your soft head. I'll wake you when our break is over. Yeah, yeah. We could take a break. And we'll get it, right after we tear that little foal of the night's head off. Yea~wait, WHAT?! That's our sister your talking about! She is an obstacle! She is a living being, and I won't let us~no, I won't let YOU harm her. Oh, as if you could stop~ Get out. WHAT? Get out of MY HEAD!!! The dreamscape exploded as two alicorns slide across the ground. On one side stood the white alicorn, with anger and desperation in her eyes. On the other, a red alicorn, with a mane of fire, and bearing the same cutie mark as the white one, lying on the ground, looking beaten up. "What are you?" the white alicorn said, worried. "I'm you, Celestia," the red alicorn replied, trying to get up, but with a smile on her face, "I am the force that, when you are too soft on others, I discipline them. When you think to offer mercy, I'm the force that drives you to not give them mercy. I am the other side of your coin, Celestia. I am Daymare Sun." "I don't care who you are, Daymare, but this is where we part." Celestia then encased Daymare in a glass ball, trapping her. "What are you doing?" Daymare screeched, terror and rage in her dragon eyes. "I will not allow you to harm my sister, or any of my subjects." "Oh, like Luna isn't thinking the same thing. She will betray you, Celly, and, when she does, I'll be there, laughing, AHAHAHA~ "Enough! Goodbye." The white alicorn then engulfed Daymare with a ball of light, and she vanished. A red ball with a sun symbol appeared at the bottom of a mountain, where it remained for centuries. Until, one day, fate changed it's course. An orc, flanked by redguard and a nord, picked up the orb. "Captain," the nord said, "What is it?" "I don't know, Brimguard," the orc replied, "But I have a feeling we, the Dawnguard, may find a use for it." Author's Note Now our story begins. In the next chapter, we'll be meeting the protagonist. Side note, Celestia's nightmare happened before Luna became Nightmare Moon. I felt that, just because Celestia is older and wiser, it doesn't mean that she's isn't corruptible. This 'fight' is my reason why we see here as such. She banished her dark side. I also do not own the picture of Daymare Sun, nor do I know who did it. But I do give credit to the artist of the picture nevertheless. Now, let's start this journey. Chapter 1: A Simple MissionYou are Colva, a proud Nord of Skyrim. You have long, black hair, blood red eyes, and are about 6'5". You defeated the Empire, and liberated Skyrim. You faced down Alduin as the Dragonborn, and won. Not bad from the simple, adventuring orphan you used to be. You entered the Bannered Mare, where a slim Nord greeted you. You asked her if there was any news to give. "Not today, Colva," she said as she washed some of the ales, "But a redguard requested to see you next time you came here." You eyed her curiously. "He's in the room upstairs." You walked upstairs, a steel dagger hidden behind you, in case this wasn't a pleasant guest, and noticed a man sitting next to a round table, wearing Imperial robes. "Ah," You say as you put your dagger away, "been a long time since I saw your face here, Zanguf." "Too long," the redguard said in a very deep, disappointed voice. He then gave a heavy chuckle as you and him gave each other large hugs. You then asked a waiter to bring you two ales as you both took seats at the table. "So," You say as you chug down your pint of ale, "what brings you here, so far from the safety of the Empire, my friend. You know that Imperials aren't welcome in Skyrim now." "I know, but this was important. It concerns the citizens of Skyrim, forbidden arts, and..." Zanguf got closer to you as he whispered to you, "the Dawnguard." That got your attention. Ever since you killed their leader, Isran, the Dawnguard have been disorganized, and rapidly deteriorating. They have been more aggressive, killing anyone they believe to be a vampire, or associated with vampires. What could they be up to now. Zanguf pulled out a map of Skyrim, with red 'X's in several locations. "These are the locations that we have confirmed the Dawnguard attacked. Each time they attacked one of these locations, they took something very unique to the location. I was hoping you might be able to help. They also appear to be attacking in a pattern. By my guess, the next attack will be tomorrow." You look at the map. You don't notice anything out of the ordinary. The places marked hold very little significance. Wait, maybe it's not the place they hit, but, rather, where they hit. You double check to see where each one was, and come to one conclusion. "Dead Man's Respite." You say to Zanguf, who is startled at why you say that place, "That's where the Dawnguard are based at." "How do you know." You give a smirk. "The locations are all in a circle. A poorly drawn circle, but a circle nevertheless. Center all the attacks to one spot, and Dead Man's Respite is located there." Zanguf smirks as he realises your logic. "Always that tactician, weren't you? Now, if we approach from the north, under the cover of night~" You stop him mid sentence. "No." He gives you a confused look. "What do you mean 'No'?" "We'll hit it during the day." You notice the panicked look on his face. "You know that, if we do that, you'll be wea~" "I know!" You said, raising your voice. "But, if they are only attacking during the day, and the next attack is tomorrow, then the place will be lightly defended. We can go in, get all the stuff they took, hid them someplace away from Dead Man's Respite, then come back to finish the job." "But the sun!" Zanguf nearly shouted at you. You understand his concern, yet you can tell that he understands the logic. "Let me handle that," you say a you take another sip, "I think I know of a way we can beat the sun, without using Auriel's Bow." "We?" Zanguf exclaims, giving you a 'Are you serious?' look, "Don't expect me to come. You and I both know that, with my busted arm, I'll be useless." You give him a thousand-mile stare look. "I never said that you'd be going." You stare at Zanguf, who just looks at you, confused. After a moment, his eyes widen in realization. "You mean~" You smirk. "That's right. Contact the Arch-Mage of Winterfold, The Listener of the Brotherhood, The Harbinger of the Companions, and the leader of the Thieves Guild. We're getting the band back together. Author's Note Well, now you know the main protagonist. Next chapter we'll meet up with his team, and the mission will be anything but simple. Chapter 1.5: The DealYou awaken on a dark, gloomy platform in the middle of a black sea. You notice the sky is also a sickly greenish color. "Aw, my new champion," you turn to see a blackish hole in front of you, with dark tentacles, and multiple eyes. "What is it that you have seeked from me?" it talks to you in a loud, booming, but calm voice. You get down on one knee. "My master, Hermaeus Mora, Daedric Prince of Knowledge, as you know, I am a vampire. I seek a way to be immune to the effects of the sun, without the destructive use of Auriel's Bow. Name your price, and I will do my best to accomplish it." You feel a tentacle lift you chin up. "My champion, do not fret, for my price will be...easy to obtain. In the ruins known as Dead Man's Respite, there is an...artifact. This artifact is not of this world, and I have no...information on it's contents." "I understand, my lord," you say as you lower your head again, "I will obtain it for you and, should I fail, I will find another object of equal, if not greater, importance." You notice a bright light in front of you. You reach towards it, and in your right hand you see a black vial, looking a lot like the white phial you obtain a few months ago. "This vial will...negate your vampiric weakness to the sun for 12 hours, and it will refill every 10 hours. Take it, and do not...disappoint me like my last champion." You yelp as a tentacle slaps you into the black water. You jolt up from your room in the Bannered Mare, with a look of both fear, but relief. You then feel worried. 'Was it just a dream?' You then feel something in your hand. You lift it up, and your eyes widen at what you see. There, in your hand, was the Black Vial, given to you by your lord/master, Mora. You then get a slight burning sensation on the left side of your face, and notice that the sun is up. Your face then gets serious as you pop the cork of the Vial off. You chug down the Vial in one go. The outer edges of your eyes glow black for a moment, then return to normal. You then notice that the burning feeling is gone. "Well," you say as you stand up from your bed, "time to get this party started." Author's Note I added this chapter in to clarify as to how Colva would be able to beat the sun, without using Auriel's Bow. It also was to tell you that Colva does represent one of the Daedra's. In the next chapter, we'll REALLY meet Colva's team, and Colva's rival.
