You awaken on a dark, gloomy platform in the middle of a black sea. You notice the sky is also a sickly greenish color.

"Aw, my new champion," you turn to see a blackish hole in front of you, with dark tentacles, and multiple eyes. "What is it that you have seeked from me?" it talks to you in a loud, booming, but calm voice. You get down on one knee.

"My master, Hermaeus Mora, Daedric Prince of Knowledge, as you know, I am a vampire. I seek a way to be immune to the effects of the sun, without the destructive use of Auriel's Bow. Name your price, and I will do my best to accomplish it." You feel a tentacle lift you chin up.

"My champion, do not fret, for my price will be...easy to obtain. In the ruins known as Dead Man's Respite, there is an...artifact. This artifact is not of this world, and I have no...information on it's contents."

"I understand, my lord," you say as you lower your head again, "I will obtain it for you and, should I fail, I will find another object of equal, if not greater, importance." You notice a bright light in front of you. You reach towards it, and in your right hand you see a black vial, looking a lot like the white phial you obtain a few months ago.

"This vial will...negate your vampiric weakness to the sun for 12 hours, and it will refill every 10 hours. Take it, and do not...disappoint me like my last champion." You yelp as a tentacle slaps you into the black water.

You jolt up from your room in the Bannered Mare, with a look of both fear, but relief. You then feel worried. 'Was it just a dream?' You then feel something in your hand. You lift it up, and your eyes widen at what you see. There, in your hand, was the Black Vial, given to you by your lord/master, Mora. You then get a slight burning sensation on the left side of your face, and notice that the sun is up. Your face then gets serious as you pop the cork of the Vial off. You chug down the Vial in one go. The outer edges of your eyes glow black for a moment, then return to normal. You then notice that the burning feeling is gone.

"Well," you say as you stand up from your bed, "time to get this party started."

Author's Note

I added this chapter in to clarify as to how Colva would be able to beat the sun, without using Auriel's Bow. It also was to tell you that Colva does represent one of the Daedra's. In the next chapter, we'll REALLY meet Colva's team, and Colva's rival.
