The door to Sugarcube Corner creaked open and a parade of sweet scents like freshly-baked pastries greeted Silver Star as he entered, wearing his usual flank-baring underside-covering suit and black top hat with a cobalt-blue band around the base. It may have been his birthday today, but come on! He could almost smell the obvious trap. He'd been in Ponyville for about a month now, and part of him still believed that if anypony was going to try anything, they would have done so by now. Then again, what went on in Pinkie's head was a mystery to many ponies. He usually did a pretty good job when it came to understanding her, but he couldn't understand why anypony would want to invite him to a 'Special party'.
"Pinkie Pie?" He called out, loud enough for anypony in the building to hear, and he recieved no answer. Odd. He didn't really think Pinkie was the type for something like this. And if he was, he would have noticed it the first time he scanned her brain. One didn't simply have issues like that without those issues leaving an imprint upon the victim's mind and thought patterns.
"Come upstairs, silly!" Came the happy, excited voice of Pinkie Pie from upstairs.

If she was planning on knocking him out in any way and dragging him to the storeroom beneath the bakery where the interrogation/torture/Changeling-related nonsense would begin, she could have done it sooner. Knocking him out would mean carrying his heavier-than-it-looked body down the stairs, and since those training weights he wore could only be removed by himself or those he trusted dearly - and knocking him out in any way was a good way to make him stop trusting whoever made such a bad move - and because they worked on his current state of mind instead of what it was before getting knocked out, even hearing something suspicious in his sleep could remove that pony from the list of ponies he trusted. Not that his list had anypony on it, but he found it payed to be prepared. And if she planned on using drugged food, like in that spectacularly awful overly-gory 'Horror' story he once had the displeasure of reading, there were two problems with that plan. One, the aforementioned weight factored into things. And two, it took several pints of hard cider to get him even a little tipsy. If he didn't work with it and let himself pass out, It'd take a lot more anaesthetic than could be feasibly hidden within most baked goods before it'd start to dull his mind enough for him to forget he could easily teleport out of there regardless of his mental state. The sound of rustling fabric got his attention and drew him out of his thoughts(the thoughts he hoped would help make his raging erection give up and sulk back into its cage due to overwhelming boredom, not that his stallionhood could ever 'Get bored' when something like that was in front of him) as Pinkie Pie got off the bed and slowly, seductively walked closer and closer to him, her curvy flanks swaying, her big soft fluffy tail slowly twitching from side to side like a cat's.

Still, when he opened his mouth, he couldn't find it within him to speak.
