Twilight would admit it. His looks were not the first thing that caught her attention. When she had seen him for the first time in that maze in full color and mobility, Twilight had to hold back a gag.

It was only after he had faked a sickness that Twilight slowly started seeing him in a new light. A pang stabbed her in the heart as she heard his declaration of wanting to find out if they were truly friends. Then he had to get really sick by that worm flower thing sneezing on him. Twilight thought his words over and over that night and decided to begin corresponding with the Draconequus adding a letter to Fluttershy's when the gentle pony sent hers.

Discord's replies to her letters were not as bad as she had thought they would be. Though some of the letters were bigger or smaller than the others and last time she got a singing letter in rhyme Twilight found herself being amused instead of irritated. His letters challenged her in deciphering their meaning. Twilight would even send riddles or poems back to get his input and was always surprised at his explanations and meanings that completely differed from her own opinion.

When she had finished writing another letter to Discord, this time ending it with the a heart and her name Twilight gasped. Her mind raced at the implications as she had only ever signed her name without any other endearments. Looking at the letter Discord had sent her, Twilights eyes softened and a small smile crept on her lips. Well he had definitely grown on her that's for sure. Twilight decided to add an invitation to tea in her letter after she re-wrote it since she didn't want him getting the wrong idea with the heart. Even though it was wrong of her to admit it, Twilight assumed seeing Discord's appearance would stop any lovey dovey feelings she was developing.

Discord appeared in the library in a grand display of rainbow smoke, marshmallows, and gongs. Once all the bells and whistles cleared Twilight got a good look at one of her best friends.

"Why Twilight did you change your coat color? Red is such a boring color my dear, you would look smashing in a multi colored plaid," Discord commented.

Looking at him now after getting to know him through letters, she didn't feel disgust at all. In fact she wanted to know exactly what his fur felt like. If his scales were rough like Spikes or smooth. Watching Discord continue talking on about colors and the ones he favored Twilight admitted that though his looks had at first not attracted him to her....he definitely had appeal.

Wonder of wonders, Twilight had fallen for Discord.
