Prologue: Tea Time with Twilight

This is story is basically Katniss Root’s diary, read aloud by Twilight, written by Spike, the entire Convo recorded.
Prologue: Tea Time with Twilight
Lightning crashed in the distance. Clouds were gathered in the sky, so closely bunched together that it was as if they were worried about
an opening in the sky being a problem. Torrents of rain came crashing down on the window panes of every house in Ponyville. The smell of
burning filled the library where Twilight was visiting for late night studying, and she went down to investigate. Suddenly, a flash a of bright
lightning filled the room. A burst of light hit the top shelf of the library and exploded, and the world went black.
“ Twilight, TWILIGHT!” A muffled voice yelled.
“Huh… what?”
Twilight opened her eyes to see Spike bending over her. Sunlight was streaming into the room. The storm must be over, she thought.
The first thing she noticed is that that she’s on the floor. The second thing she noticed was that the entire library was trashed.
“Spike, what happened?” Twilight asked.
“I don’t know! I was sleeping and then I heard an explosion! I rushed down and you were passed out on the floor and all the books were
scattered everywhere!”
“ Ugh, it’s going to take forever to clean this up.” Twilight grumbled
“It’s not the cleaning you should be worried about, it’s that.” Spike said shakily pointing to the top shelf of one of the bookshelves. There was a
huge huge burn mark that expanded in ash-colored concentric circles.
“ What is that?” Twilight asked in disbelief.
She flew up to check it out. in the center of the burn mark was… a diary.
“ What is it?” Spike asked.
“It seems to be some kind of… diary.” Twilight said with wonder.
She flipped the first page. It read:
DIARY OF KATNISS ROOT
THOSE WHO READ THIS DIARY WILL BE OPENED TO THE WORLD OF PONEM.
Twilight read the first words:
“When you read this, you’d better be sure you’re ready for some pretty revolting stuff, because this story gets messy.”
“Whoa, we’d better get this to Princess Celestia. Maybe she will know what this is.” Spike said.
“ Yes, Spike, gather all of our friends and take a note. We have some words to transcribe.”
[cue Eye of the Tiger as Twilight drags war paint across her face in black ink]
“Uhh, you sure that’ll wash out?”
“Oh, shut up and go find our friends already, Spike.”

“So… Basically you’re saying that Twilight found this...ahh… touchy-feely book-”
“Diary,” Spike corrected Rainbow Dash.
“Diary…” Rainbow repeated. “ And she wants me and the rest of the gang to come on over to hear her drone on and on about egghead stuff.”
“You’ll get to read the new issues of Daring Do that Twilight gets since she’s a princess.” Spike said slowly.
Dash seemed to ponder this for a while. “Done, I’m coming.”

“Fluttershy, could you come to the library, Twilight needs you for something.”
“Oh… um… okay.”
Spike looked over his shoulder, bewildered.

"Oh, come on, Applejack! We need you now!"
" Nope. Ah'm not comin unless it has somethin ta do with apples."
“ B-but… it does have something to do with apples! In fact it has lot’s to do with apples!”
Applejack looked at him quizzically. “Ya sure, Spike?”
“Mhm! Absolutely!”
“Ya really sure?”
“Definitely.”
They glared at each other for a while longer until Applejack said “Fine, I’ll go tell Mac ah have ta help the princess,” and stormed off.
“Yes!” Spike whispered to himself. “Spike, 2, Applejack, 150. Just 148 to go!”

Spike breathed heavily. “Alright, Spike. You can do this. You. Can. Do. This. Act cool.”
He strolled into Carousel Boutique, where Rarity was working on her latest collection of dresses.
He took a deep breath. “Uh, hi Rarity! So, you see, Twilight found a diary-”
Spike was cut off by Rarity screaming “A DIARY!?” in his face and zipping off like a white arrow.
He sighed. “Hello to you, too.”

Spike walked in to the library. He saw Twilight(who still had ink smeared on her face).
“Oh, hello, Spike! Good job, but where’s Pinkie Pie?”
Spike cocked his head to the side. “Pinkie Pie? I figured she’d-”
“Already be here? Yup!” a shrill voice cut his off.
Spike gestured to her and raised his eyebrows. “See what did I say?”
Twilight nodded. “Okay, girls. Let’s get started.”
And they once more gathered around the table at the Ponyville library.

This is Spike, Princess Twilight Sparkle’s fellow, awesome, 20% cooler than the coolest thing beside Rainbow Dash, epic, trustworthy, humble,
amazing, fabulous, smart, fun, friendly, fantastic, strong, handsome, intelligent, cunning, wise, noble, royal, bright, calm, careful,
charming, adventurous, diligent, energetic, polite, sincere-
“SPIIIIIKE!!!!!!!” Twilight ~~yells~~ shrieks. “Make sure to write in PAST tense, this is an official document for Princess Celestia’s library!”
Ok, ok, ok, fine! I’m moving on!
-sincere assistant and fellow dictator in the royal court of the Kingdom of Friendship.
It was a dark, stormy night when Princess Twilight Sparkle, alone, discovered the-
“Spike, I know it was ‘spooky’, but make it less… horrific!” Twilight shrieked again.
Fine, fine.
On a beautiful, sunny day in the library when Princess Twilight Sparkle and her friends-
“When will we get to the part about the apples? Ya know ah’m only here for the apples!” Applejack complained.
“Soon, dear. Let Spikey Wikey begin the story first,” Rarity purred so perfectly and flawlessly and beautifully and dearly.
“Spike, cut to the chase,” Rainbow Dash said impatiently.
Princess Twilight Sparkle and her friends found an ancient-
“Um, Spike, i-i-it was new, um, sorry I d-d-didn’t mean to say you were wrong or anything justthediarywasImeanlookednew,” Fluttershy
squeaked.
Princess Twilight and her friends found a NEW-looking diary in the top layer of the shelf. In it read the following:
:) :) :) :) SQUEE OMG SPIKE’S PEN HAS A PEGASUS FEATHER ON IT!
“Wha?” Dash sputtered sleepily. “What about a pegasus? Wait-DARING DOO???” She jumped out of her beanbag.
“No, no, no,” I, the humble Spike, said. “Pinkie’s making it up. This feather is a parakeet feather. Couldn’t find another to fit my size…”
“Oh, poor parakeet. Do you think the feather plucking hurt? Do you think it’s sad? I mean, it has to be sad right? It lost one of its feathers! Oh
gosh oh gosh oh gosh, you shouldn’t have bought the pen!” Fluttershy squeaked again.
“Girls! Continue, Spike,” Twilight ordered.
And in the diary was the following story of horror, violence, and-
TRAGEDY AND ROMANCE!!!!!!! *swoon*
“Rarity! Ah ain’t spending all mah afternoon doing this romantic stuff!” Applejack groaned.
(Spike, the awesome knight of the pen, has the feather pen now. Rarity the darling princess of elegance has returned it to the handsome
prince.)
And in the diary was the following story of horror, violence, revenge, and the magic of friendship through hard times, even if it was, as I
described earlier, horrible, violent, gruesome, hurl-worthy, and--
"SPIIIIIKE!" Twilight yelled.
Ok ok, jeez. I was just saying that this isn't a good bedtime story.

“Ya forgot the apples,” Applejack commented.
And apples. There!
“ADD THE DUN DUN DUN!” Pinkie squealed.

"Don't forget the awesome!" Rainbow said.
"Girls!" Twilight screamed in frustration.
Fine, and the awesome.
"Noooope! You have to say dun dun dun again," Pinkie said.
*sighs* Fine.
