Secrets Unlocked
Load Full StoryPrincess Celestia gingerly stepped through the corridors of Canterlot Castle--as to not wake her sister, Princess Luna, from her daytime slumber. Her hooves made a light tapping sound on the polished, refined quartz floor as she stepped through the tower, exiting it with haste, as to reach the archives without being noticed. But for whatever reason? The sun princess was clouded in mystery, as she had refused to eat anything earlier, and her appearance was rather tired-like. She unlocked the doors to the Canterlot Archives, and stepped in, the tapping noise subsiding as she made her way onto the worn carpet. She stared into the hourglass that rested in the middle of the archives, and sighed, stopping but a foot or two away from it. "These memories have been haunting me for far too long, you must stop coming into my mind." She said firmly, her appearance acting against her strong tone. Well then, Celestia, why don't you just replace them with something more favorable? Why don't you just release me? The voice rang through the white alicorn's head. "I've told you already, it is impossible for me to achieve such a task." She replied. "Although, I know somepony who may be up to the challenge..." The voice had said nothing. Celestia stepped back, her horn radiating brightly with a brilliant gold magical aura. "By these memories, I do not any longer want to be haunted by the past..." She chanted, clamping her eyes shut, "So grant to me this form of crystal glass!" Yellow light exploded all around the room, and she was launched backwards, ramming into a wall.
The hourglass was broken in two, the top half on the floor, with sand scattered all about. Somewhere in the rubble of the busted glass, stood a statue of the finest crystal, bearing a strong resemblance to Princess Luna. Celestia slowly stood up, and an orange sphere of light came out of the statues chest, and circled Celestia. The sun princess raised a hoof, smiling lightly, before collapsing on the floor of the archives. The ball of light flew all around her, as if in panic, then instantly flew out of the archives, a small tail of aura trailing behind it.

Hoofsteps of the royal guard echoed through the corridors of the castle, their sound flowing into Princess Luna's bedroom door. The moon princess slowly blinked her eyes open, her magical mane starting to take motion once more. She slowly stood up, stepping out of her circle-shaped bed, and towards a mirror at the wall of her bedroom. Her horn glowed with a dull blue colored aura, the same aura overtaking her hoofslippers, breastplate, and tiara, all of the items flowing towards her, and radiating brightly as the touched her body, fitting into place. She smiled at herself in the mirror, fixing up her makeup and forelock a bit. "It feels so nice to be able to accessorize with a free hoof..." She spoke to her reflection, remembering to the time when she was Nightmare moon
trapped in an unfamiliar form, lost of any free will. She shook the thoughts off, posing a bit in the mirror, admiring herself for a moment, then started to step off to her balcony, laughing lightly as she did so. She used her magic to open the doors, and stepped outside, then sunlight virtually blinding her.
"What? Why in Equestria is the sun still in place!?" She raised a hoof, spreading her wings as she leaped down from her terrace. She thrusted them firmly twice before hitting the ground as to be able to achieve a soft landing. She adjusted her hooving, landing rather roughly, and galloped to the nearest gaurd.
