I stood in front of The Vinyl Record Company with my hoodie and headphones around my neck, I sighed nervously. I walked in quietly and noticed her stare at me and headphones, she walked up to me and said "So... Are you here to talk to me or buy something?" I stood there for a moment silently "I would like to speak to you." She nodded and helped her final customers, as they left she turned the open sign to say closed. I stood there with my hood covering my eyes and stared at her, she walked towards a staircase and urged me to follow. I walked behind her and stayed quite, we reached a door and she used her magic to open it, as we walked in she said "So... What do you want?" I said "I would like to know if you would help me.... I want to become a DJ like you.... But I need some help learning things..." She gave a confused look and said "Sorry... I don't teach, I just-" I interrupted her "Please.... I want to be like you... I won't take no for an answer." I stomped my hoof and she smirked "I like your passion... Alright, I'll do it. But I got a gig in a minute so today's lesson is to watch and learn." I nodded.
We walked up to a night club called "The B34T" and she said "By the way... Why are you hiding your face?" "I want to keep my identity a secret.... For now...." I responded, she stared at me for a minute and then walked in, I followed but was stopped by the bouncer "You on the list?" Vinyl told him I was with her and he let me in. Vinyl got up on the stage and set her stuff up, she the started up a slow and easy beat, about 30 seconds later it changed to energetic cheerful beat. I sat at the bar and order a drink, a colt then came up to me and shoved me out of my seat. I stood up and moved to a booth, the colt then came over to the booth and said "Who are you? I haven't seen you here before." I stayed quite "Oh. To good to talk to me huh?" I didn't say anything, he growled and punched me. I sat there and didn't say a word, he went for another punch but his hoof froze in mid punch. I saw Vinyl using her magic to stop him, he growled at Vinyl and said "What?! He's a punk!" Vinyl replied "No, he's my protege. Now back off!" She threw him back with her magic and sat down with me "Why didn't you do anything?" "Because I stopped fighting a long time ago.... Don't you have to get back up there?" "No, my friend is filling in for me. She needs the money more anyways."
An hour later the party died down and Vinyl was telling me about her childhood "Yeah... My parents where never that nice to me.... What about yours?" I stayed silent "Oh... I'm sorry... If you don't wanna talk you don't have to...." I sighed "I don't have a family.... I grew up alone and had to protect and teach myself...." I then pulled back my hood a little, revealing a bullet wound "And that's why I stopped fighting..." She stared at me in shock and said "Oh uh... I'm so sorry... I... I didn't know..." I smiled "It's fine...." We sat there for a bit remenesing about our past (Mostly her...) "So... We should probably get going." I nodded and got up, we walked out and she said "Alright.. So you should come by tomorrow at 11 am." I nodded and left with one thought in my mind "What an amazing mare."
I woke up and rolled off of my bed with a yawn, I stretched and looked at the clock realizing it was 10 am I ran to my closet and threw on my hoodie. I then got myself some breakfast and brushed my teeth, I looked at the clock and smiled seeing as it was only 10:20 so I hopped in the shower and started thinking about how today would turn out. I smiled as I thought of Vinyl and how we connected last night, sighing I got out of the shower and checked the clock. I got ready (Again...) and headed out.
