Starfall stood in front of the fountain in Ponyville Park.
Today he was going to have a dinner with his marefriend and her parents, truth to be told he wasn’t really looking forward to it, but it had to be done.
And so he was waiting for Starburst to come and pick him up, soon somepony did arrive in the park, but it wasn’t his marefriend.
“Good evening Starfall, ready to go?” Cyan colt flinched and slowly turned around until his eyes met gaze of nopony else, but Princess Twilight Sparkle, the mother of his marefriend.
“E-Evening, Princess Twilight.” He mumbled out, his usual cocky attitude was completely destroyed, but it was understandable considering who he was talking to.
“Take it easy Starfall.” Twilight said with a smile “Starburst couldn’t come so she asked me to do it instead, there’s nothing more behind this.”
Although her words were true Starfall still couldn’t relax himself fully, he only nodded in response.
“Well then, shall we get going? Our mansion is more or less twenty minutes away.”
He nodded once more and they started walking together through the streets of Ponyville.
After first few minutes of walking together in an awkward silence, Twilight decided it’s time to try break the ice, she turned towards Starfall who immediately glued his stare to the ground.
“So, how is your therapy going?” She asked and mentally facehoofed herself.
Starfall’s expression flinched “Fine I guess, but it’s not easy to get rid of a trauma.”
Twilight sighed with relief thanking Faust that he finally said something.
She didn’t want to dig any deeper into his problems but she also didn’t know what to talk about, but then an idea popped right into her head.
“Yeah believe me I know, you wouldn’t believe how long it took Starburst to get rid of hers.”
Starfall’s ears perked up as soon as the name of his marefriend was mentioned, he raised his gaze and saw Twilight smiling at him with care.
“Would you like to hear about it?”
He nodded.
“I’m so sorry I can’t stay Twi.” Flash said in hurry through the window of the train as it was leaving the station.
“I know I promised to take care of Star when you’ll be having a meeting with your friends from Ponyville, but…”
“I know, you are needed in Crystal Empire, don’t worry I’ve been having royal duties much longer then you, I know how much of a pain in the flank they can be sometimes.” Twilight shouted hoping that he will hear her through the noise of accelerating train.
Flash did in fact hear her loud and clear, he smiled and waved his hoof, Twilight did the same thing until he finally disappeared from her sight.
She sighed and with a frown on her muzzle she started to leave the train station I said it’s fine, but where will I find somepony to take care of my little Star now?
Well I can’t ask any of my friends who are coming to a meeting, maybe Spike… No he has his own child to take care of, maybe Disco…. No, that was a stupid idea. Twilight tried to figure out any solution during her whole journey, she finally made it back to the Canterlot Castle, but she still had no idea what to do.
With a frown on her muzzle and mess in her thoughts she walked inside and wandered through the great hallways of the Royal castle.
She didn’t pay attention to her surroundings, nor did she think about where she was going, which like always resulted into the loud crush with somepony else.
“Oh I’m sorry, did I hurt you.” Twilight asked while getting herself off the floor.
“Don’t worry Twilight, I lived through worse things.”
Princess of Friendship quickly turned towards her victim who turned out to be her old mentor, one of her fellow princesses and her friend.
“Princess Celestia, I’m so sorry I didn’t look where I was going.”
“I figured that out by now, what’s bothering you?”
Twilight looked at Princess of the Sun with wide eyes “How…”
“Do I know you have a problem? Twilight I know you since you were a small foal, I can see things like that written all over your muzzle.” She said with a caring smile.
Twilight’s cheeks reddened in embarrassment, and finally she noticed something weird about her old mentor “Princess, why aren’t you wearing your regalia today?”
Celestia smiled “I have a day off so I decided to just leave them in my room.”
“You have a day off? I didn’t know you can have those!”
Celestia chuckled “Well things changed when instead of one Princess we have four.”
Twilight smiled “I’m glad, you deserve to have some time for yourself Princess, now excuse me but I have to find a….” Her smile faded, suddenly she found a possible solution to her problem.
“Is something wrong Twilight?” Celestia asked being with a bit of concern in her voice.
“Princess Celestia!” Twilight suddenly shouted.
Said princess moved away a few steps not really expecting such outburst “Y-Yes what is it?”
“I know that you’re always busy, and days like today are a real rarity for you, but I have to ask you for help.”
Celestia nodded “What is it?”
“Could please take care of Starburst while I have a meeting with my friends in Ponvyille?”
Silence fell upon these two like a sudden rain, seconds felt like hours to Twilight who dumbly stared at her old mentor surprised expression.
“You want to me to look after Starburst while you’re out?” Celestia asked.
Twilight frowned and nodded meekly.
“That’s a great idea! I actually was getting a bit bored.” Princess of the Sun said with a wide smile.
Suddenly Twilight’s expression quickly changed into huge smile as she started to jump around and shout “Thankyouthankyouthankyou…”
“You’re welcome.”
“I can’t see where are you going with this.” Starfall said with a bit of his previous nervousness gone.
“Just wait for it, now I wasn’t there for the next part of the story, but Princess Celestia told me everything after I came back.
“Are you sure you’ll be fine?” Twilight asked as she nervously entered the train.
“Of course dear, I’ll make sure nothing bad happens to Starburst, I’ll also make sure that she won’t be bored.”
Princess of friendship nodded, fully believing in her teachers competence, she waved her hoof through the window of the train until she disappeared from Celestia’s sight.
Princess of the Sun nodded to herself and with a smile on her muzzle she took off and flew towards her castle.
Meanwhile a little filly with overgrown wings and orange fur was laying bored on her bed.
Mommy said that somepony special will be looking after me today, I don’t need anypony to take care of me, I’m old enough to be on my own. Starburst thought to herself and started to roll around in her bed.
Starburst only saw Princess Celestia in person once, but it was when Star was just a newborn baby a few years ago, so naturally for her it was like meeting somepony for the first time.
Soon enough she heard a knocking on the door and raised her muzzle, doors slowly opened and Celestia walked into the room with a smile. “Hello there dear Starburst, you probably don’t remember me so let me introduce myself, I am…”
She couldn’t finish her sentence as Starburst started to scream in terror and jumped off her bed, before Princess of the Sun had time to even comprehend what’s going on little filly was already running for her life through the hallways.
Celestia stood there frozen for few seconds before she even realized what have happened, she stared into the hallway and watched the small orange dot running away from her “So that’s how Luna feels.”
“Wait so, she was scared of Princess Celestia?” Starfall asked.
“Well, not really.”
“Then what…”
“You’ll know if you let me finish the story.” She said just as they were passing Sugarcube Corner.
“Sorry, go on.”
Twilight nodded and resumed her storytelling.
Soon enough Celestia started to ran after Starburst, but she was already gone from her sight How can that filly run so fast with such tiny legs.
Princess of the sun decided to change her strategy and ordered her guards to search for Starburst, soon enough whole garrison of Day Guards as well as the staff was looking for the small orange filly.
With so many ponies looking for her, it didn’t took long to find her, soon enough she was found in the royal kitchen by one of the royal guards, but catching her was no small deal.
“Now now little filly, come with I’ll take you to Princess Celestia and…”
“No! It’s scary!”
Guard raised his eyebrow “I assure you child that Princess Celestia is anything but scary, well maybe sometime if she doesn’t get her cake on time… but overall she’s very caring.”
“No! I’m not going.” She said as her eyes started to water.
“Okay, what are you so scared of?”
Starburst flinched “G-g-gho…”
“What’s that?” Guard said and moved closer to her.
Starburst closed her eyes and shouted “Her mane is made of ghosts!”
“Wait a second, you’re telling me, that Starburst was terrified to the point she almost cried, by Princess Celestia’s mane?!” Starfall asked barely holding his laugh.
“Exactly!” Twilight said and chuckled “Guard reported to Celestia what he learned, and since then she had to alter her mane to look normal whenever she was spending time with Starburst.”
“You wouldn’t even believe how long it took us to get Starburst used to Celestia’s mane.”
Starfall laughed out loudly, Twilight couldn’t help but smile seeing him like that.
“Whoops, here we are.” Princess of Friendship said as they stopped in front of her mansion.
Starfalls nervousness came back as he stared at the huge building, he looked over to Twilight who still was smiling with care, he sighed If this dinner won’t go well, at least I learned something very useful today. He thought and smiled mischievously as they started to enter the front gate.
