When the Ponies Cry

Rainbow Dash screamed as the knife was almost to her head. The knife was raised in the air upon her face, she was too scared to dodge nor move. The dark shadow appeared and was Pinkie Pie with a butcher knife on her hoof.

“Rainbow Dash I found the knife to get Gena out of the big metals!” Pinkie Pie said with her perky voice.

“You know what? I better go back home, because it’s getting late. We should get Gena out of there tomorrow. See ya, Pinkie.” Rainbow Dash flied home to get some rest and took the newspaper with her to get more information about the murder of the Summer Sun Celebration another day…

Rainbow Dash was felt still after reading the article multiple times back home, but fell asleep after midnight, and woke up late for school, felt confused of what happened in the festival today.

“Hey, Rainbow Dash. What’s going on in your mind, lately?” Applejack said to her.

“You know about the Summer Sun Celebration right?” Rainbow Dash said placing her newspaper in her saddle.

"You don't know about the Summer Sun Celebration traditional in Ponyville? It's traditional for the ponies of Ponyville to place the apples onto the lake and respect for our past relatives. This year Twilight is in charge of breaking the bamboo to let the tradition begin." Applejack said.

"Yeah, it's going to be better than ever!" Twilight said to her.

A mare took a picture of a small dragon, with a flash of light and tried to make a right angle for the picture.

"Excuse me, but didn't you asked before you take a picture of that baby dragon?" Rainbow Dash asked the mysterious mare.

"You saying that I can't take a pictures without asking first?" The mare questions the cyan pegasus.

"No, not at all. Just asking" the pegasus said.

"Oh, alright then. My name is Photo Finish, I see that you hang out with friends more often than I do." She tilts her head looking at the other five ponies, leaving a sweatdrop upon Rainbow Dash's face.

"I guess I should go somewhere before the Summer Sun Celebration begins in a few hours. I'll see you then." Photo Finish then picked up her camera in her saddle and left.

On the time of the Summer Sun Celebration, the time just began.

"All right, ponies! The battle of the Summer Sun Celebration Race begins now!" Applejack said as the five ponies walked to the nearest food stand for a race.

2 hours later the winner was announced that Pinkie Pie won the race as Twilight later walked to the barn to break the bamboo for the Apple drift tradition to begin.

Bang! Bang! Smack!

Twilight finished breaking the rare bamboo and the apple drift began.

Ponies and fillies placed their apples onto the stream at the Everfree Forest to pay respect as Rainbow Dash sat still upon the edge of the stream and smiled as the apples drift away from the ponies.

"Ah! I almost forgot! I need to help my family at Sweet Apple Acres, sorry y'all. Club's canceled today." Applejack stood up four hooves and trotted back to her farm.

"Rainbow Dash, somepony is waiting for you at the office." The teacher said as she galloped outside to go home.

Rainbow Dash looked outside and saw a colt with a brown mane and tail with an hourglass as a cutie mark. She was nervous but came into the small tent instead.

"Rainbow Dash, I presume?" The colt said to her. "Here, have an apple cider" he gave her a drink and she accepted it.

"So, what do you need to ask me for?" Rainbow Dash said.

"Did you see the mare that looks like this? Photo Finish?" The stallion shows her a picture of Photo Finish.

"Yeah, I saw her before the Summer Sun Celebration. Why'd you ask?" The mare was shaking of anxiousness, still sipping on her apple cider.

"Photo Finish died last night and her body was found near the Everfree Forest, and we thought she slit her neck with her hooves. Other ponies said that it was the curse of the Mare and the Moon." He said looking serious.

Rainbow Dash was shocked that the mare was dead, but who would do such a thing?, she thought.

"I need somepony to investigate who doesn't believe in the curse. Do you believe in it?" He said.

"No, not at all." She said.

"Well, if you need any questions or evidence of it, let me know. The name's Doctor Whooves by the way." He said opening the tent.

"Thank you." Rainbow Dash walked out of the tent and walked back to the schoolhouse.

She then overheard a whisper between Applejack and Twilight, talking something about the Mare and the Moon's curse, and then tried to hear what they are saying.

"I'm scared" Twilight said, shivering with contempt.

"Don't be, sugarcube. Let's promise not to tell anything about that again." Applejack said, as she shivers a bit and patted her hoof on her back.

"Hear what?" Rainbow Dash said, walking into the classroom.

"It's nothing, Rainbow. Don't worry about it." Applejack picks up the cards and places them onto the shelf.

Rainbow Dash trotted home because of the rain all over Ponyville and went inside, until...

She saw Pinkie Pie following her as she walked home and was both silence until Pinkie Pie broke the silence after a minute or two.

“Did you left outside for the schoolhouse like what Miss Cheerilee told you to, of something?” She said, still in her up-in-cheerfully perky voice.

“Uh..yeah. Why’d you ask?” Rainbow Dash was still feared that Pinkie Pie will noticed that something bad will happen.

“Because...you didn't.” Her voice lowered to a serious tone. “I saw you were outside with a pony you don’t know”

Rainbow Dash was shocked and surprised that she knew that and tried to escape from it and fast.

“Look it wasn't what it looks like, Pinkie. I was with Miss Cherilee and-”

“You LIAR!” Pinkie Pie yelled at her with anger. “I saw you with that detective pony about the murder from the Summer Sun Celebration!”

“I gotta go, Pinkie. I’ll see you tomorrow.” Rainbow Dash flies back home, leaving Pinkie Pie behind.

She continues doing her homework, until her mother calls.

"Rainbow Dash! Some pony wrote you a scroll. It's from the main hall." She said trying to give her the scroll.

"The main hall?" Rainbow Dash opened the letter and saw that it was from the detective she talked to back then. The scroll was from the magic from one of his unicorn friends and gave her a message as he writes, she asks. The letter said:

Hello, Rainbow Dash

Did any of your friends discovered the murder?

"Well they said something about not to tell anypony." She exclaimed.

The words changed.

I forgot to tell you that there's a pony was murdered last year and I guess her name was Maud Pie, she died slitting her own body in half with her tail. She was almost the same age as you are.

Rainbow remembered that her seat was the same seat where Maud usually sat, she was still paranoid of what's going on, the knock on her door and didn't even dared to open it. The voice came from her father.

"Rainbow Dash, here's the tea you asked for you and Pinkie Pie." He said to her.

Her eyes were widened. Pinkie Pie? How did she got to her house?, she thought.

"Pinkie Pie?" Rainbow Dash asked.

"Yeah, she told me that your room was on the right side of the house. Are you okay in there?" Her father opened the door seeing her alone instead of Pinkie Pie.

"I need a minute or two." Rainbow Dash places the tea in her desk and talked.

"I'll talk to you later, Whooves." She placed the scroll under her bed and saw her window.

The only thing was on her yard was no other than just Pinkie Pie.
