What have i gotten myself into?
Camille parked her car in the parking lot of her new job, the sign hanging over the establishment to promote business and in Camille's case fear. It wasn't the creepy looking AI's, or the long hours that started from 12:00pm to 6:00am-she was usually up that late in her workshop, downing kegs of coffee to stay awake-she could handle all nighters. No it was the small feelings of sadness and nostalgia in her head that kept her from going inside the dammed place. It was the fact that her niece Michelle and nephew John had been two of the eight children who had gone missing in there. Even after the suspect had been arrested for kidnapping them, the children were gone, without a trace. Camille's sister-in-law was still grieving for Michelle and John, Camille had comforted her and searched the long woods behind the establishment, calling out there names, waiting to see them running toward her. But she had found nothing. The small bit of nostalgia inside her remembered going there when she was little, and how Fluttershy was always her favorite, at least until. . . that day.
Before getting out of her car, she checked her phone to see the time, it was four thirty, she had a lot of time until her shift started, but the manager had asked if she could come in earlier so he could explain what her job was about, meet the robots, see the robots "in action" as he had put it, and get used to her workspace. Along with her phone she also had her backpack, filled with things to keep her, or kids entertained, along with some food and drinks in case she was hungry or thirsty. Along with her camera, that included over fifty video diaries. Before she entered the restaurant she took a deep breath, and then pushed the door open with one hand. Before she had even taken five steps, she bumped into someone, causing her hat that read Cammie's Mechanics on it down into her eyes, causing her to see nothing but the dark blue stitches that ran along the bill inside the cap.
"Oh god, I'm so sorry, I didn't see y-."
Camille cut herself off as she stared at who, or more specifically what she had bumped into. It was Pinkie pie, one of the animatronics, and a second favorite out of the other robots in here. Being 5'9, Camille felt short around pinkie, who was around 6'8, although her curly pink mane might have given her the extra ten inches. Pinkie turned her large pink body toward her, and smiled at her.
"Hi I'm pinkie! Welcome to Twily's pizza place! Wanna be friends, do you like to sing, oh oh do you like to have fun!"
The robot would have gone on and on talking if Camille didn't interrupt her.
"I'm Camille, I'm the new night guard, the manager asked me to come her during the day to talk to him."
Pinkie gave a loud gasp "your new here, oh my gosh I have to show you around then!"
Pinkie then grabbed Camille's hand and pulled her through the establishment, talking so fast that Camille couldn't keep up with her. She tried to tell pinkie to slow down, but the robotic earth pony couldn't hear a word she said over her own loud talking. The only plus side in being forcefully pulled around the restaurant was that she was able to get a good look at everything and what was happening. The only time she had managed to stop was when she saw a large curtain over Fluttershy's garden, a place where fluttershy would play with small animals and kids could come up and play with them. Camille dug her heels into the floor and managed to stop. She reached her hand toward an employee who was cleaning up a mess near the curtain.
"Excuse me could you tell me why fluttershy's garden is out of order" she asked the employee, indicating with her hand toward a small sign in front of the curtain.
The employee explained that ever since the bite of '97 fluttershy never came out and wouldn't.
As Camille was again pulled away by pinkie pie she couldn't help but wonder what the hell the bite of '97 was, she was there during the bite of '87. Since she was to far away to ask what the bite was, she decided to ask the robot, who was currently pulling her along while explaining the entire history of how there "fantastic" pizza was made, if it knew anything about her niece and nephew.
"Hey pinkie," Camille said feeling a spark of donut that the animatronic would know anything.
"Yes!?" Pinkie said excitedly, hoping for a question on the wonderful place that she called her home.
"Have you ever seen these two kids here at night? They're my niece and nephew, they're two of the eight children who had gone missing here." Camille said showing a photograph of said niece and nephew on a trip to a water park the entire family had gone on.
Pinkie stopped talking immediately and reached out and took the photo from Camille's hand and stared at it. Camille thought that, if the animatronic was an actual person, it would be close to crying. Pinkie stared somberly at the picture for a good three minutes before handing it back to Camille.
"I'm sorry for your loss." the robot said, with what seemed like sadness in her usual peppy voice.
Before Camille could question pinkie further on the matter, the manager walked toward them with a wide smile on his face.
"Camille, it's wonderful to see ya again! Pinkie, why don't you get back to the stage before the kids get rowdy." he said, though the last part sounded more like a command.
"Y-yes sir, I better go see rarity and those kiddies!" pinkie said, although Camille thought she had heard her stutter, and she had a look of fear in her animatronic eyes of hers.
now Camille, your just being silly Camille thought to herself as she turned toward the manager.
But before she could get a word in the manager took the photo from her outstretched hand and said "Who are those adorable kids? Are they yours?" he asked, although Camille could see a bit of fear and remembrance take hold in the older man's eyes.
"Actually they're my niece and nephew, I was asking pinkie if she had ever seen them here during the night. They're were two of the kids who disappeared in your establishment." she said, her voice full of confidence and defiance. The manager returned the photo to her, and tilted his head back up and stared at her, his stare full of hatred and scorn, making Camille feel as if he was about to rape her.
This continued for several seconds until one of the other employees came over to them and informed them that it was time for closing. The manager instantly changed his demeanor into the happy-go-eff-yourself smile and wave, but before walking down the hallway, he leaned over to her and whispered in her ear
"Have a pleasant night Camille."
