Our Family

The feud started with my mum's great grandma and my dad's great grandpa who from the age of 17 had fallen deeply in love. They couldn't help but spend all of their time together doing all of their favourite things like reading, writing poetry and riding bicycles. One day my dad's great grandpa proposed to mum's great grandma and she accepted with no words but a big kiss and a hug. They spent months planning for the wedding, sorting out all of the little details with the biggest of thoughts. When the big day came everything was going smoothly until someone shouted out that they couldn't marry each other as the man who shouted out loved the bride. This made the groom think that she had feelings for the man and this caused a dispute between each of the two families. None of the generations had let the feud go and carried on the tradition of hating each other.

Even though mum was only little at the time she understood that nobody was willing to like or even meet with one of the members of the other family. She went to the little boy's house everyday and they played for hours on end until one day the boy's mother came over and asked her what her name was, she said Pearl Shimmer. The boy's mother asked if she belonged to the family across the other side of town, she said no even though she was as she knew that if she said yes then there would be trouble.

Years went by and when they got to the age of 17 they realised they were in love.
