Alex

Pain. That was the first thing Alex felt when he became conscious. Burning, stinging, incredible, pain.  Though he was not blind and his eyes open, he could not see. Everything was blurry, hazy, and seemed to be moving in slow motion. He could not move a limb nor comprehend what was going on, Who am I? The question was answered immediately, I am Alex. Though he could not understand how he knew but he was certain of that. As certain as he was that he was breathing.

Where am I? Alex wondered ,then as if to answer the world suddenly cleared as if his vision turned to High Definition. It was as if he was near sighted and had put on contacts for the first time. He could see everything perfectly know, his eyes twitched and felt irritated as they adjusted to the high quality vision that had suddenly been enforced on him.

This is hell. That was the first thing that came to Alex, he was in a barren expanse of rusted red rocks that were littered with craters, several rocks stuck out of the ground like torn, rusted, scorched hairs. Bodies littered the floor, some with spears, swords blades and arrows sticking out of them. Other so revolting Alex did not wish to describe their horror in detail, nor describe them at all.

Flames danced on the rocks, it was a truly mesmerizing sight, as if the devil had broken through the crust of hell and had release some of hell into the earth polluting it with the unholy seed of discord and infernal rage. The dancing flames made it seem as if the devil was dancing joyfully at the scene of carnage before him.

"Get down!" A voice yelled snapping Alex out of his stupor, something slammed into him from the behind knocking him towards the floor, he flung his hooves  forward in a pitiful attempt to stop himself from breaking his nose. Surprisingly it worked, kind of.

Instead of landing on his face he had fallen on his gut and scraped his elbow when his front leg slipped under his weight. Alex's elbows stung and his eyes watered, but before he could do anything a wave of heat and flames  rolled over him. The flames, fortunately, didn't touch the unicorn but the heat wave burnt his skin and singed his mane. A griffon turned to Alex, anger and disdain were etched in his coal black eyes.

"A Unicorn," he said coldly, his word were filled with malice, anger, and even disgust. As if he was addressing a horrifyingly, disgusting profound object he had found on the sole of his shoe. Shoe, Alex thought questioning his choice of words, a horse shoe perhaps? But ... it doesn't seem right ...

Alex looked right back at the griffons eyes, glaring. The griffon was ash colored with a light grey coloring on his head , an ugly jagged scar crossed his left eye. The scar was raw red and went over his eyelids, the only thing keeping his eyelids form splitting in two was a thin strip of flesh connecting the right side of his eye to the other.

"What the hell are you doing here scumbag? What, got sick of worshiping that ass of a princess?" The griffon asked him mockingly, "or are you just admiring out superiority?" Alex's face turned red, "or did your precious princess, sent you how to fight to protect your stupid little-"

"Shut up, you stupid pile of bull crap!" Alex snapped, he flung his hooves forward and shoved the scarred griffon hard in the chest. He didn't know who Celestia was, but he could tell that the griffon was trying to insult him, I ain't talking crap form this egoistic piece of bullshit! The winged carnivore stumbled and  fell of his side, the griffon got up from the ground and brushed itself off. Alex and the griffon glared at each other for a while, then the griffon burst out laughed,

"burn me, you got balls kid! Nice to meet ya, names Storm Talon." Alex stared at the griffons outstretched claw, what's up with this guy? Alex couldn't decide whether he liked Storm Talon or not, his personality seemed to change every second. Alex sighed and took Storm Talons outstretched arm.

"Names Alex, "Storm Talon eyes widened in mock surprise and shock,

"Your names Alex? We have a prophecy about a unicorn names Alex that saves our Empire form total annihilation!"  Alex rolled his eyes,

"ha ha," he responded sarcastically, "and here I thought the prophecy would be far-fetched! Oh wait," he said in mock surprise, " it is!" At first he thought he had crossed a line but Storm Talon grinned,

" I repeat you got them balls, kid! And your smarter than most rookies," the he switched to an exaggerated whisper, " 'cause they aren't all that bright." Alex rolled his eyes again,

" Oh hurray! I feel so special!" Storm Talon chuckled, then he removed his left front leg from Alex's shoulders,

"let's go, kid. Maybe you do have what it takes," he added in an under tone, but before Alex could ask him anything Storm Talon took off. Flying at un imaginable speeds he called to Alex, "What are you waiting for greenie? Come on!" Alex stared, he was stunned and a little confused.

"How am I supposed to get there?" Alex called to him, no response. Then Storm Talon  turned around  and after a while Alex could see him clearly. He was headed straight at him and Storm Talon wasn't slowing down, Tell me he's not- next thing  Alex knew he was a hundred feet off the ground and being  tugged hard by bird claws.

"Are you crazy?! Put me down, Slowly!" Alex yelled at Storm Talon who laughed,

"calm down! It's not like I'm gonna drop you or anything!"

"I wouldn't put it past you." Alex mumbled,

"dude, you are the weirdest pony I have ever met! I mean, aren't you guy's supposed to be all obsessed with friendship and daisies and crap like that? And you're standing up to a griffon warrior after he slammed you into the ground!"

"So? Your point is?"

"I repeat, you got balls greenie! More balls then any pony in Canterlot, no, Equestria no, more than any pony in Gaea!"  Storm Talon declared,

"Gaea?"

"Yeah, she's mother earth, you ponies wouldn't know about that. Uh, no offense."

"None taken, but, what do you mean we wouldn't know?" Alex asked confused, Gaea, it rings a bell.

"Well,  diamond dogs, dragons, griffons, even changelings know about her. But you ponies choose to be separated from the rest of use because ... how did sun-butt put it? To eradicate your battle lust and blood thirst, and remove your stain of evil from our world,"  He finished sarcastically and truthfully Alex couldn't blame him, Celestia seemed like a pompous ass.

"Sun - butt?" Alex asked with a flicker of a grin, Storm Talon ( who was scowling heavily thought the story) cracked a small smile.

"Yeah, it's a long story."

"And we have a long way to go, come on tell me!" Alex demanded, Storm Talon sighed and then grinned,

"you know, you seem oddly interested on the story behind why we don't respect your princess and not as offended as people would think." Storm Talon commented, Alex shrugged

"roughly two or three minutes ago I didn't even know I was a pony, so I defiantly don't know Sun-butt." For some reason Storm Talon frowned,

"You don't remember anything at all?" He asked,

"Well-"

"Hold that thought, we're here."
