Candy Apples Are Not Always Sweet
Prologue That Night
Load Full StoryMy name is Candy Apple. I am part of the enormous branch of ponies that is the apple family. All the apples run successful apple orchards, all except us. My family. We used to run a successful apple orchard. One with enough marvel to rival the most famous apple orchard in Equestria, Sweet Apple Acres. Then everything went wrong. I can still remember the night my life started going downhill. That dam night that ruined my entire bucking life.
I was woken up by the sound of yelling. Yelling was a weird thing in my house because we never had fights. We were what you could call the “perfect family”. I recognized the voice of my father screaming at someone. I wondered who could he be yelling at. At first I thought a robber had broken into our house and that my father had caught him. But then I realized we don't have robbers in equestria. Everypony in Equestria was honest, in fact most ponies wouldn't even think of robbery, they would rather starve to death then steal from somepony. It was then that I heard my mother voice scream back “If you feel that way then why don't you get a divorce”.
“Maybe I will” my father shouted back
With those two sentences I felt like throwing up. I wanted to run as far away as I could but my body wouldn't move. I was riveted to the spot, a look of shock on my face. Just then I realized my sister, Caramel Apple, was right next to me, tears flowing out of her eyes. I tried to comfort her by telling her that our parents will get over it but I was trying to convince myself more then her. Eventually we realized everything would be okay and our parents love each other more then any two ponies in Equestria would get over it so we decided to go back to sleep.
Why did i wake up that day, if i didn't get out of bed, if I didn't go downstairs it would have been so much easier. but I did get out of bed and i did go downstairs. When I did I saw my parents waiting for me. I knew something was wrong as they kept glaring at each other, their eyes full of hatred. I feared the worst as I walked down those steps. My sister was already down there. She must of guessed what our parents were going to say as a tear was rolling down her cheek. My mother stepped forward and said “Candy, Caramel, know that we love you very much but me and your father have decided...” tears rolled down her cheeks as she looked both me and Caramel in the eye it was a look of love and sorrow. She then said the sentence that changed my life forever. “Me and your father have decided to get a divorce”
