Before You Go

Shining sat down at the fold-out table in front of a modest laptop. The room he was in was just as bland as the technology before him. White, flat walls with small, rectangular windows allowing moon light into the dimly lit room, one door leading in and eventually out. This was the room that all the guys went to in order to get on the internet, since this was the only computer on the whole site. Boot camp had been tough on Shining, it never truly broke his spirit and passion for joining the guard, but it came pretty close. He knew that the sergeants would be merciless, the environment simple, and the lifestyle rigorous; He just never thought it would actually be all that. He'd heard these same words all his life, but just assumed they were exaggerated accounts or jokes poking fun at his dreams. How wrong he was.

The hardest part was being away from Cadance. They say distance makes the heart grow fonder, and Shining's heart was overstuffed with loving affection, yet he had no one to give it to. The only way he could communicate with her was through this laptop using video conferencing, but this was the first time they had time to meet since he left almost a month ago.

Shining opened the laptop and allowed it to slowly but surely start-up. Their meeting was set for 8:30 that night, he looked at the clock. 8:20. Having heard stories about this ancient behemoth of a computer, he knew he had made the right choice coming so early. His anticipation grew as the laptop lazily loaded the home screen, completely unaware of Shining's personal needs. After what felt like an eternity, he was finally able to open the video conference service. He logged in, set his webcam just right, and clicked on his girlfriend's name. After some ringing and delay, Cadance's beautiful face shone through the LCD screen, beaming from ear to ear.

"Hey baby!" Cadance squealed in delight. "Hey honey," Shining replied back, in an unintentionally tired tone, "How's everything at home?"

"Oh, everything's fine. I'm still taking my 'princess lessons' with Celestia, but honestly they're getting tiring! Every day I get home and I just flop onto the bed and instantly fall asleep!" She laughed at the image of her daily routine. Shining had missed that laugh. "But I'm not that interesting, how's the training on your end?"

Shining groaned. "That bad, huh?" Cadance's face became concerned, ready to help her boyfriend. "Well, it's not the worst case scenario, but it's much harder then I expected. I knew going in they were going to try and break our limits, but damn, some days I come back to my cot and loose feeling in my arms and legs after a few moments of rest!" It was Shining's turn to laugh, which was echoed by Cadance but delayed by the internet.

"I also really miss you Cadance." Shining looked into her pixelated eyes as he said this. "It's been tearing me up inside not seeing you everyday. The only thing that keeps me going is the thought of you."

"No need to get dramatic dear, it's just boot camp!" Cadance laughed once again. "Not to say that your problems aren't real, but that was just a little too sappy. There has to be something else keeping you there?"

"I mean, yeah, there's my life long goals and stuff," Shining sarcastically replied, "But honestly, you've been on my mind ever since I left on that train."

"Have I been on your mind, or has our last meeting been there instead?" Cadance's tone quickly transformed to one of sultry knowledge. Shining blushed, knowing all to well that she was right. Their last night together had been something special, and while it wasn't the only way he thought about her, it was the most prevalent. "Well, it's kind of hard not to, and wasn't that the point?"

Cadance's smile became more mischievous. "It was for that, yes, but it was also for something else..." Shining's heart began to race. What could she mean? Then he remembered what they did, not once, but twice. His eyes widened in worry. "You're not pregnant are you?"

Cadance's smile instantly transformed into a shocked gasp. "No! oh, no, no, no! I didn't mean it- I just- Ugh!" Cadance sighed. "No, I'm not pregnant. I'm pretty sure we're not ready for that anyway. I don't have plans on raising kids anytime soon." Shining sighed in relief, thankful that they both were on the same page in terms of starting a family. It wasn't that he didn't eventually want to, right now was just not the best time.

Cadance brought Shining back into reality with her soft voice. "What I was referring to was this." Her hand came into view holding her electronic tablet. "What's that have to do with anything?" "Here, I'll show you."

Cadance moved out of frame for a few seconds. When she returned, she had her tablet open to a video paused and ready to play. She hit the middle triangle and started the video. Only seconds in and Shining knew what it was. He could hear the familiar moans of sex and see the inside of their apartment dimly lit by dozens of scented candles. It was their special night recorded and played right before his eyes.

Cadance could see his jaw hit the table. "I set up dozens of cameras around our apartment, placing them in just the right spots to get the perfect angles. I wanted the perfect sex tape!" The video continued to play as their love-making got louder and hotter. "I spent this entire time editing the best shots into one video, with a few pleasurable breaks in between." Shining shuttered at the thought of his girlfriend pleasuring herself. She finally stopped the video. "Well, do you like?"

"Like? Cadance, I love it. I love you! That was a genius move!" Shining was still in shock that his girlfriend had been that forward thinking, but after some more thought he knew that he should've seen this coming. "One question, how will I get this video, and how I will be able to...uh...fully enjoy it?"

"I am pretty much royalty Shining, I can pull some strings here and there." Cadance winked in a way that she knew drove Shining mad. "I told the higher-ups at your camp to allow you some alone time whenever you needed; no if, ands, or butts. At least, none of their butts. Also, I've e-mailed you the video, so look for the one titled 'Exploration Video'."

"So does that mean we're alone right now?" Shining was hoping for a certain answer, one that would fulfill all his dreams.

"Yes. yes it does."

Shining began to grin in the most devious of ways. "Wanna try something else to remember me by?" Cadance returned the smile with her own sexy one. "I thought you'd never ask."

They both began to strip out of their clothes as Shining realized something, a feeling deep inside himself. "Cadance?" She sat in front of the webcam topless, her bountiful breasts still jiggling from their forceful release, while wearing a thong that made all private areas much less private. "Yes, Shining?" He sat shirtless revealing his toned chest and stomach, the webcam placed high enough to see the bulge poking out of his boxers.

"I just wanted you to know that I love you."

"I love you too baby. Now, let's get down to business..."
