A Sonata at Sunset

Sonata sighed happily to herself, as she made her way into the cafeteria. It was her favorite day of the week, Taco Tuesday. And what was even better she and the other sirens were still allowed to attend school! Just as long as they didn't try and take over the world again. As she grabbed her tray and began to go down the line, she was surprised as a certain red and yellow girl came up to her smiling.

"Hey Sonata, what's up?" Sunset Shimmer greeted, grabbing a tray.

She was surprised by the warm hello, but returned the smile given, "Oh, hi Sunset Shimmy!"

"It's Shimmer," She smirked a bit.

Sonata shrugged, "Eh, tamato potahto,"

The former equestrian giggled, making her face turn red.

"So, no hard feelings right?" Sonata asked, clearing out her throat.

"Of course! I think more or less everyone's forgotten about the whole incident," She said, "And besides, you and the other Dazzlings aren't really that bad."

"Yeah, though Aria can be a bit of a meanie," She pouted, though that escaped her face as she saw all the tacos before her. Grinning like a mad man, she began piling her tray with at least half of the tacos they had, with a few sauce packets as well.

Sunset's eyes went wide, "You sure you'll be able to eat all that?" She pointed to the leaning tower of tacos.

"You bet I'm sure!" She stopped a moment to open a packet for a taste, before it all got on the chest of a certain guitar player. And he looked pissed.

Sonata cowered under his glare, smiling nervously, "Ehehe...oopsies?"

Flash growled, "Watch it siren shit," He scowled at her, storming away,

Sunset frowned, "Don't listen to that asshat, he's just bitter cause he doesn't have his princess Twilight anymore," She rolled her eyes.

"Are you sure? He could still be mad at me and the other Dazzlings..." She suggested, "Not everybody can just forget so easily,"

She chuckled, playfully punching her in the shoulder, "You bet I'm sure,"

Sonata cheered up, giggling with Sunset as they walked to their lunch table.

"So, who do you think is a better wonderbolt? Soarin, Fleet-foot or Spitfire?"

Aria rolled her eyes, "Fleet-foot obviously, she's got a flashy way of racing but isn't as overly proud like Spitfire but more cocky than Soarin,"

Rainbow Dash was stunned, "No way! Spitfire is totally the better of the three! She's awesome, fast and cool, just like me," She winked almost seductively at the siren. Her purple face turn pink and she quickly looked away.

"Yeah right Rainbow Crash," She growled, scowling as she looked away.

The guitarist's fast turned red at the nickname, failing at words as she just huffed and crossed her arms. She looked up from the table, seeing Sunset Shimmer and Sonata were still standing with their trays, chatting and giggling like two love sick puppies yipping. She rolled her eyes at this, "Gosh, won't they ask eachother out already?" She groaned out loud.

The others looked in the direction of the oblivious girls.

"They'd make an adorable couple!" Rarity exclaimed.

Fluttershy nodded, "Sonata is a very good pick for Sunset Shimmer..."

"I'm surprised that dolt hasn't asked her yet," The violet siren muttered, pushing her hair out of her vision a bit.

"She's not a dolt, just a bit of a ditzy doo," AJ said.

Adagio rose a brow, "You kidding? Even Ditzy is a smarter girl than her!"

The pink haired girl beside her placed a hand on her shoulder, "Now now Adaigio, you shouldn't pick on Sonata for not being the smartest girl..." Fluttershy said softly.

"But-!" Her face went from pink to red, both embarrassed and frustrated but even a little something else that made her spine tingle.

She received a harsh look, "No buts," She spoke sternly though still was not very threatening.

Adagio stumbled over her words, she eventually just crossed her arms and looked away with a big puppy dog pout on her face.

Pinkie Pie wasn't paying much attention, too busy eating what seemed like a literal ton of the school's pudding. Looking around the chocolaty mound, she grinned, "We should totally try getting them together!" She suggested.

They all looked at her, "You serious Pinkie? You know it never works when people do this match making stuff, do you not remember the catastrophe caused by the cutie mark crusaders after the whole Cheerimac fiasco?" Rarity asked nervously.

"I do I do!" She nodded her head, "But what if instead of setting it up ourselves we 'suggest' they do something romantic for eachother?" She smirked, her eyebrows jumping up and down.

"Pfft, as if that's gonna work," Aria rolled her eyes.

RD nodded, "I gotta agree with grumpy grape here, you're not the best persuader Pink,"

All the others nodded in agreement.

"Ugh, you guys just don't believe in the amazingness of Match Maker Pinkamina Diane Pie!"

"So then I asked the diamond dogs what they got on their test, and guess what they said?"

"What?"

"'We got all D's!'" Sonata giggled at her own joke, which wasn't very good in all honesty but still the joke couldn't have been told any better by anyone else.

Both of them giggled as they made their way to the table, when a leg stuck out from beneath Sonata and Sunset Shimmer, tripping them both. They're food went flying into the air, and they crashed onto the tile very hard with an audible smack. The cyan siren looked up, seeing Flash Sentry and his pals standing over them, smiling mockingly at them.

"Oopsies," He mimicked, getting some giggles from the others.

She growled at their laughter, standing up and kicking them hard in the nuts.

Sonata expected Sunset to already be up on her feet, but she was still on the floor groaning. A gasp escaped her lips and she turned red with rage.

"NO ONE HURTS MY SUNSET SHIMMY LIKE THAT!" She roared, beginning to beat them senselessly. She was blind with pure rage, and it took the Rainbooms and Dazzlings all together to hold her down even just a bit.

"Calm down Sonata!" Aria exclaimed, trying to pull her away from Flash who's blue hair was beginning to turn red with blood and his tan skin purple as he surprisingly bruised easily.

"Come on Sonny girl! Pull yourself together!" AJ bit her lip as she threw her back, making her stumble and fall onto Sunset.

A loud scream filled their ears followed by soft sobs.

Sonata quickly got to her feet and picked her up by the shoulders, not struggling at all with her weight, "Yo Pinkie Pie! Help me would ya?" She frowned.

The eccentric rainboom saluted and bounced over, grabbing Sunset's legs as she began leading the way to the nurse's office. "GIRL DOWN EVERYONE! OUT OF THE WAY OUT OF THE WAY!" She exclaimed as they pushed passed taller boys and girls.

Fluttershy looked ready to cry, "Oh god, I hope Sunset'll be okay..."

Adagio lightly placed a hand on her shoulder, "Hey, relax Flutters, everything will be fine..." A blue grew on her face as she found the girl had began hugging her rather tightly. She returned it gently.

The three toughest of them all however decided to finish was Sonata started; with Rainbow Dash mushing their disks under her cleats, Aria ripping their scalps off of their heads and Applejack breaking every joint they had in their bones. Of course this didn't last long as quickly the three of them, Flash Sentry and his pals were set to the office, glaring at eachother on their way to see Vice Principle Luna.
