//-------------------------------------------------------// One in a Trillion: Flowers -by UnkleBumbleHeck- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 1: SLAY //-------------------------------------------------------// OIAT Disclaimer One In A Trillion Disclaimer/Advisory chapter Life can often feel like such a blur. Kind of like that saying 'time flies when you're having fun' but to a completely different cadence. If it were easily put to words, then the English dictionary would be doubled in size, thus the detailing of this tale in this particular fashion. Xyra Lovebloom is a character designed out of expirimentation, to see just how far I could push a pony character without breaking the whole pony dynamic. It seems I was able to nearly perfectly achieve the goal I had set forth, to make a sort of character that by design questioned morality and rule. So much so as to even by appearance alone achieve this to some degree. I could have given her some terrible malformation from birth as I have tried in other ventures, but I find that allowing the audience to accompany the character through their turmoil is ultimately more rewarding. This story is a direct parallel to another, in which side characters from this fiction are central characters in the other. My initial intention for this story was to try and merge the sort of underlying logical and moral laws of the real world and the world of MLP: FiM, however I found that in fact they are already near identical. Thus the concern of what is canon and what is headcanon arises, particularly in the pivotal topic of this tale; Magic. In the show, magic is shown to be somewhat inherent in all things, most evidently in Unicorns of course, but also in the other pony races. As for the uses, applications and dynamics of magic, it is left more or less undefined. As of the end of season 4 of the show, we have been shown magic used in combat, magic used in illusion, and in literal teleportation, which would imply there must be some degree of separation in the uses of magic. This this story delves deep into headcanon and potential falsehoods bordering on qualifying as alternate universe, at least in my own opinion. Now, let us address the structure in which I shall be writing this thing. I have already attempted to begin the story at an understandable beginning, or a "Chapter 1" as it were, but the result was less than satisfactory for my own tastes. The reason being I believe, is because I designed the character this story is based upon at a later point in her life, and detailed much of that portion of her life quite thoroughly before bothering with any details of her actual origins. Now, that said, I have completely fleshed out the character as far as backstory and all that, but I still feel that telling this story from her physical beginning would not tell the tale to the greatest extent. So here is my master plan: Star Wars. I will be telling this tale in a sort of backwards reverse, if that makes sense. (It does not.) Meaning, I intend to begin the story as the Star Wars movies were released, beginning at the middle and following that arc to the end of the story before going on and detailing the portion of the story prior. What this requires then in order to work well is for me to basically fill in the gaps, such as a logical date and time system for Equestria, a school system for magic, and other things which should help the story stick together as it is written. In short: This fiction is heavy on the headcanon and the fiction. //-------------------------------------------------------// Prologue //-------------------------------------------------------// Prologue ONE IN A TRILLION A fan-fiction by Anjmus Aetuor-Va Prologue In Equestria, there has always been a strong faith in the goodness of ponies. The Princess, Celestia, has lived for longer than anypony could ever know. Moreover, she has ruled Equestria alone for just as long. There are whole academies devoted to her theories on living, her theories on something called Harmony. One such academy - the one closest to her in fact - which is situated in the Equestrian capitol of Canterlot, is steeped in untold amounts of ancient texts and scrolls. Of course, as one would imagine these age old scripts are locked tightly away. They are from a different time, when Harmony was not so very prevalent in common society. A darker time, a time some say when there were actually two Princesses, and when a being called Discord had whole cults and a practical empire hiding beneath the surface of Equestrian society. These texts, however, are so attractive to the smaller of eyes... Eyes belonging to those whom still retain their innocence, whom wish only to make their Princess happy.    Xyra Lovebloom was born in the year 972 AE, and at a young age discovered she had a natural affinity for magic. She didn't much care for that, though. Why should it matter what her special talent is? What if she wanted to do things her own way? Maybe life is simpler than that, maybe it's more complicated. That is a mystery none have unraveled.
