//-------------------------------------------------------// Honorary Sister -by MahoganyMlp- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 1 //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 1 "Bye mom! Bye dad!" You call. Your parents are just pulling out of the driveway for their weekend-long holiday. Your 7 year old sister Alaina had already been dropped off at a friend's house for the weekend. Your mom waves out her window, "Be good, Adrianna! We'll be home in 2 days!" "I know mom!" You replied, "I will!" And I'm not even gonna mention that you told me that like a million times. With that, they were off. Once your family's blue van disappeared from your sight, you headed back into the house. After locking the door, you go up to your room to draw. Not knowing what to draw, you pick up the phone you'd gotten for your 13th birthday a week ago for inspiration. You scroll through your photo library.  Hmm... I already drew Applejack, Fluttershy and Twilight... I can never do Rarity's hair... That leaves Pinkie and Rainbow Dash. I'm 'Feeling Pinkie Keen' today, maybe I'll draw her. You pick up a pencil and start sketching. Maybe I'll draw her as a human. But I'll still give her a tail. Yeah, that would be cool! In half an hour, you manage to finish the outline of Pinkie. Just as you're about to pick up a colored pencil, there's a thud coming from outside the house. Then a groan. A minute later, the doorbell rings. Because you know you aren't supposed to open the door for strangers, you stand on the top of the stairs and peek down. Through the window beside the door you're surprised to see a young girl- maybe 9 or 10-in sporty attire with RAINBOW HAIR! What the hell? Rainbow Dash is most definitely a cartoon; not real! Although other people can have rainbow hair, you are almost certain this girl's cosplaying RD. Screw the stranger danger rule, you need to figure out what's wrong with that kid; going from door to door cosplaying ponies. "Can I help you?" You open the door. "Uh, yeah. I'm Rainbow Dash and I honestly have no idea where I am." "You are currently at 105 Equestrian Drive, Ottawa, Ontario." "Where the Tataurus is that?" "It's where you are. And what the hell is Tataurus?" is your response, "Unless you mean that hellish-jail near Ponyville that's guarded by that Cerberus thing in My Little Pony?" The so called Rainbow Dash's mouth is agape, "How'd you know that?! I don't even know what I am right now and you know where I live?!" She shakes her head, "And what's My Little Pony? It sounds like something Flutters would call an animal of some kind." "You know what?" You're getting fed up, "Are you really 100% telling the truth? You're really Rainbow Dash? And I can tell you're lying ‘cause I have a stupid little sister who's so friggin good at lying it's scary. It's my job to bust her. I get a dollar per lie. But she doesn't know that." You smirk. "Uh, yeah I am. Who else is this awesome?" She lifts her back a bit. You look at her like she's nuts. 'Rainbow Dash' looks confused. She turns around and looks at her back. She shrieks. SHRIEKS. Like REALLY. EARDRUM. BUSTING LOUD. "God, do you mind? I'm standing right here ya know?" "Where are my wings?" She grabs your shirt, "Tell me, you Celestia-damned creature, where. Are. My. WINGS?!" You smile at her, "Wow, you are one good actress! You even got Ashleigh Ball's voice! And you haven't let one word slip un-ponified!" "ANSWER ME!!!!!" She's completely ignoring your comment. You contemplate on whether or not you should call the police. A 10 year old can't possibly hurt me, right? "Ok, ok sheesh. If you aren't already familiar with the concept," you glare directly at her, "Humans don't have wings." "How the hay do you live without wings? Who manages the weather?" As Rainbow rambles on, you realize something. She isn't lying. The thought strikes you as incredible. How can there be a humanized Rainbow Dash right there at your house? And why does she look like she's 10? "Hey Rainbow Dash," you interrupt her rambling. She looks up at you. "I believe you. I believe you're the real Rainbow Dash." "Was there ever any doubt? No one else can be this awesome!" She grins. "But, what's a 'human'?" Oh, dear god. That talk. You look back down at Dash; her eyes sparkle with curiosity, all of the past anger washed away like the tide and as she waits for your answer, she subconsciously wraps her arms around herself. Only then do you realize it's cold and wet outside from the sudden storm that just passed. "You know what? Come inside, it's pretty cold out there. I'll tell you after." Rainbow obliges, stepping through the open door, "Hey, what's your name anyway? You know who I am but who're you?" "I'm Adrianna Willows. Here, come in and sit down." You lead her to a couch and help her settle down, then run and get a sweater for her. When you return with one of your hoodies, Rainbow's sitting there examining her 'new body'. You toss your sweater at her. "So, you wanna know about humans?" She nods. You ponder on whether you should tell her the-uh-inappropriate, so to speak, stuff or just stick to the basics. Basics should be easy enough to start with. “Ok, so this is your head, and these are arms,” You motion to each body part when mentioned, “Hands, elbows and fingers.” “Head, arms, hands, elbows, fingers.” Dash repeats. “Well, you’re a fast learner.” She smirks, “Heh, just comes to me! You gonna keep going or what?” “Ok, chest, stomach, hip, legs, knees and feet.” You only say a few at a time as not to confuse her. “Chest, stomach, hip, legs, knees, feet. This is easy stuff. Waaay easier than school.” Now it’s your turn to smirk, “That’s because we learn these things waaay before we even start school. And also, these are only the basics.” “How much more is there?” You pull out your laptop and show Rainbow a picture of the human anatomy. “WHAT?!” //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 2 //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 2 "And that's the entire human anatomy!" You finally finish telling Rainbow about human bodies. "Do I really have to remember all of it? It's too confusing. Like seriously, how many types of fingers are there? Come on!" Dash groans. "Well you have to know at least half! Do you want me to go over this again, Rainbow?" "NO! I mean, uh nah, I'm good." She hastily covers her slip. You laugh but there's one question on your mind that's really bugging you: how's Rainbow going to get home? You know that in a bunch of fanfics that you read, Twilight and friends come to get her but this isn't a fic, it's real life! "Rainbow," you begin, "how are you going to get back home? How did you even get here?" She looks cute sitting on your couch pondering that question. Not cute that way but in the way that reminds you of your sister. "I was flying, like SUPER fast, not watching where I was going and I ended up crashing into something. When I opened my eyes, I was sitting on the ground in your front yard in this weirdo body. Then I pressed that funny little button that looks and sounds a bit like a doorbell because I thought pressing it would take me home." "Do you know what you crashed into?", was your immediate reaction. Rainbow shakes her head, "All I know is that it hurt my head REALLY badly. It's still sore right now!" She yawns and touches her temple gingerly. Seeing her yawn, you ask her if she's tired. "Yeah, it's been a pretty strange day today." "You want dinner first, Rainbow?" She nods. You lead her to the kitchen and hand her two muffins for the sake of her pony-diet. She gobbles them up as fast as she can. "Hey Adrianna," she says. "Hmm?" "Could you get me some water?" You look over and see muffin crumbs all over her face. "You'll probably need some!" You head over to the counter and pour her a glass of water, then put the glass in front of her but she just sits there staring at it. "A little help...?" She trails off motioning towards the water. "Right! Hands!" You show Dash how to hold a cup with hands and she mimics your movement. After she finishes off her water, she yawns again. Realizing it's time for bed, you show her upstairs to the guest room. "Eh... You're going to need pyjamas." You rummage around in an old suitcase full of outgrown clothes for some size 10 pjs. Rainbow looks puzzled. "Why do I need pyjamas? We never wore pyjamas back home! On the other hoo-HAND, we never wore anything back home! Except for that one unicorn who's always going on about her 'coiffure' and how nice I'd look if I combed my hair in the morning." "It's just something we do here." You put it simply. "Aha! Perfect!" With a flourish, you pull out a white t-shirt and a red pair of flannel pants. "Here, put these on. But first take off your other clothes." You turn around to see that Rainbow's just sitting on the bed. "What's up? Something wrong?" She shrugs, "Nah, I just miss Ponyville. Y'know, everypony's, well, a pony. I've only been gone not even a day and I'm already thinking these sappy thoughts! UGHHHH!" "Oh you'll be fine. You're a tough filly-girl. You'll survive!" You reassure her. She smiles, "Thanks. Ok, so I just put these on?" "Yeah, but I'm not supposed to be here while your changing, it's a thing we have here." The door closes behind you. Rainbow Dash is in your guest room, sleeping. Or you think she is. While your scrolling through your DeviantArt account, she's really tossing and turning, not able to fall asleep. Thump. Thump. Thump.. You turn, and see Dash coming down the stairs. You raise an eyebrow. "Whatcha doing?" "Adrianna" she starts, "I-I couldn't sleep." Rainbow, stuttering? You look at her in a concerned manner. "You can't tell anyone this but..."She continues. You tilt your head in confusion. "... My mom used to tuck me in before bed. It helps me fall asleep. C-could you do that f-for me? Just until I get back home?" You're surprised. The Rainbow Dash, self-proclaimed fastest flyer in all of Equestria, asking you to tuck her in? Well then. "Omigosh! Is that me?!" She suddenly squeals, pointing at an image on your DeviantArt page. It was of a cyan mare with a rainbow mane smiling at a light blue stallion sporting navy hair. You smile at her, "Yes Rainbow, that's you. It's the first picture I posted on this site." "Who's that?"You could tell she didn't hear a single word that just came out of your mouth, instead focusing on the stallion beside her. "That's Soarin. You know, the Wonderbolt? I used to ship you two. And to be honest, I still do.That means I think you guys should be together." "Ewwwwww!" She complains. "Can we go to bed now? I'm tired." As an answer, you grab her wrist and pull her up the stairs. Once in her room, you tuck her in bed and kiss her forehead. You sit beside her until she falls asleep. You get up and leave, whispering a quiet goodnight.
