A ear piercing scream was heard across half of equestria that belonged to a usually very quiet yellow pegasus. Windows shattered and children cried, but non of that mattered to a certain blue pegasus with a rainbow mane. 5 minutes ago Rainbow dash was practicing new tricks to show to her favourite flying team The Wonderbolts. She flew higher than the clouds and looked upon the gloomy looking land.who is in charge of cleaning the skies today she thought. She was beginning to loose her breath from flying to long but she always pushed herself and never stopped for anything. All the clouds now blocked her view of the town and she could barely make out the top of the town hall. Seeing the clouds as a comfy bed she slowly descended on to the soft white pillows. Rainbow lay on the fluffy clouds when suddenly she heard a scream from one of her best friends. Without thinking she jumped up and shot down towards the ground fast enough to break the sound barrier. On her way to the source of the noise Rainbow made not one but four sonic rainbooms, but she didn't care about that she was too busy thinking about the cause of the scream. Rainbow Dash recognised it as Fluttershy's scream but she was NEVER that loud. Did she hurt herself? Did she drop her groceries? Did she accidentally eat someponies cake? Rainbow thought of all the possible causes not even noticing all the ponies she knocked over. She looked up and saw at the end of the street a crowd of ponies surrounding something on the floor. Rainbow Dash started to slowly walk over and pushed into the middle of the group. There on the floor was what was left of a pony. The pony on the floor was a yellow pegasus with a pink mane, but the thing that made the sight disgusting was that each of their limbs were left in angles, their eyes and teeth had been removed and their tail and cutie maks had been literally ripped off their body. The blood was being washed away by the rain and the crowd of ponies one by one dispersed. After everyone left  only 5 ponies remained.  Rainbow looked to each of her friends and saw the same sad look on all their faces, even Pinkie Pie had a sad look on her face. Rainbow didn't have a look of sadness but one of rage Twilight saw this and gestured her to follow her. The walk back to the library was silent as Rainbow followed Twilight through the abandoned streets of ponyville. The library came into view and Twilight used her magic to open the door. Rainbow rushed in and jumped on the first chair available fully prepared to talk to Twilight about what they saw. At the very corner of her eye Rainbow saw Spike hiding on the floor above ready to watch what was happening., but she paid no mind to it. Twilight sat in front of Rainbow and looked to the floor. "What do we do now?" Rainbow Dash asked. "What do you mean?" Twilight asked completely unfazed by the situation. "FOR CELESTIA'S SAKE! What do you mean? What do you mean. One of our friends died do you not care?!" Rainbow screamed. "Maybe being a princess has gotten to your head." She added. "Ponies die everyday you need to understand that this is no exception." Twilight looked out the window. "My duties as a princess have not affected my judgement I just know that what happens happens and you can't change it." Above them Spike gasped she had never talked like this before, not even in Canterlot. "I don't plan on changing it, I plan on stopping it happening again." Twilight looked a little sad hearing this. "Not everything is butterflies and rainbows, Rainbow Dash." And with that she went upstairs. Rainbow sat there alone gor a while thinking what to do. I guess I am paying Apple Jack a visit.she thought. Just as she was entering Apple Jack's farm Rainbow saw a cloaked figure run away from the farmhouse. Thinking that this pony did the same to Apple Jack as to what happened to Fluttershy she chased them as fast as she could. if this pony has murdered two of my friends I will not be held responsible for my actions! Rainbow screamed in her head. From behind the  pony she was chasing she could see the tip of a white unicorn horn and a very smooth, brightly colored mane. What shocked her more was the pony extended to huge white wings ans took off to the sky. Rainbow wasn't far behind them and doubled their speed immediately. The figure turned their concealed head around and gazed at Rainbow Dash then went faster that physically possible into the direction of Canterlot. Rainbow stopped and hovered in mid air for a second. why are you going that way? she thought. Rainbow took off again almost making a fifth sonic rainboom that day. All of a sudden the cloak fell of the pony and landed on Rainbows face sending her to the ground . Rainbow recovered just in time to see a white alicorn fly in a open window of Canterlot castle. Rainbow Dash stormed to the Canterlot throne room ignoring the guards as they shouted at her to stop. Her eyes were fixed on the door at the end of the corridor and almost every guard in the castle was behind her. When she reached the door Rainbow calmly turned around to face the guards. Every guard stopped and looked at her like she was about to say something, but instead she reared her hind legs and bucked the door as hard as she could. "Princess Celestia!" Rainbow Dash screamed. "Oh hello Rainbow Dash,  what do I owe this pleasure?" She calmly asked. "You mean you have no idea about the white alicorn that killed two of my friends?" Rainbow challenged. The guards behind her gasped and slowly backed away through the door. "Two?" She asked "I'm pretty sure a white alicorn killed four of you friends." The last part of her sentence was said with a small laugh. "So it was you!" Rainbow accused. "Well obviously,  there are only four alicorns and they are all in on it." "In on what?" "You ask a lot of questions don't you Rainbow Dash." She chuckled. "Let me tell you a story. One day the bearers of the elements of harmony got more attention than the alicorn princesses, so we decided to kill them." "But Twilight has an element of harmony too." Rainbow Dash interrupted. Celestia sighed. "I was getting to that. Anyway so we had a problem that Princess Twilight had an element of harmony,  so we fixed it by making her destroy the elements." Rainbow looked as if she was about to cry. "I thought we were friends." "It is amazing what ponies do when they are about to die. Let's see what you do." Without warning jumped on Rainbow almost crushing her chest and knocking all the wind out of her. Rainbow Dash scrambled to her hooves and attempted to kick Celestia in the face,  but she felt her body not moving. All of a sudden she was thrown into a wall which clearly cracked leaving a pegasus shape in it. Every bone in her wings were broken and she was coughing up enough blood to feed a vampire. Rainbow stood weakly on all fours ready to put up more of a fight. The Princess strolled over to the slowly dieing Rainbow Dash and whispered into her ear. "Tons of ponies die each day, you are no different." Rainbow glared at a knife floating towards her heart. It stopped just above her heart and traced circles around it, the cold surface of the knife made her shudder. The room grew cold and Rainbow started to shiver uncontrollably untill it all stopped. Rainbow Dash looked at the knife that was now in her body then back to Celestia. The Princess smirked at her. She startted to feel dizzy from the blood loss. "W-why wou-would you d-d-do this." Rainbow struggled to form words. "E-everypony will a-ask que-questions." Princess Celestia opened her mouth to talk but Rainbow couldn't hear anything. Her vision was getting dark as she tried to keep her eyes open but the enevitable happened. She was dead. //-------------------------------------------------------// Epilogue: reunion //-------------------------------------------------------// Epilogue: reunion Rainbow Dash awoke with a sharp gasp. The last thing she remembered was the princess stabbing her and then followed by her dieing. She stood up and looked around,  the floor was made of short grass and the sky was a beautiful light blue. Ahead of her was a blob of colors moving very quickly towards her. Rainbow was paralysed in fear all she could do was watch as it separated into other colors. The colours started to resemble ponies now and each color was the same color as her friends. White, pink, orange and yellow. Rainbow saw that they were indeed her friends and ran towards them. In the center of the field all five ponies joined up in a group hug that almost caused Rainbow to start crying. "What? How is this possible you all died. I died,  I'm pretty sure I died." Rainbow was shocked to see her friends all okay and in front of her. "We did die silly." Pinkie Pie chimed. "W-what." Rainbow stuttered. "Well," Pinkie started taking a huge gasp of air. "We all got killed by somepony and then we woke up here but you or Twilight wasn't here so we were worried but then you appeared and we were happy again. " She said not taking a single breath. "Guys princess Celestia killed us and Twilight joined her so she wouldn't be killed." Rainbow informed. Before anypony could react Princess Luna appeared in front of the group. "Will ponies stop ccomin' out of nowhere it is getting very confusing." Apple Jack said. "Princess Luna are you dead too?" Rarity asked. "No and neither are you." She replied. "Your bodies maybe dead but I put your minds in a constant dream state, so that you may get rest. I must inform you that no other pony knows about this." She turned to leave and looked over her shoulder. "Have fun." She said with a smile and then she was gone. "What do we do now? " Apple Jack asked. "We party! " Pinkie Pie shouted and raced to the town with all her friends following her there. "I guess we'll have to see what the future brings. " Rainbow sighed and with that they were gone, away from the murderous ruler of thier old world and into a new one.
