Chapter 1 - Sure, the Everfree doesn't scare me anyway...
On an day like this, nopony can imagine what can go wrong. The sun was high in the clear blue sky, sending rays of warmth down on the ponyville town. The breeze was gentle enough to lift your mane from your shoulders, but not strong enough to whip the hat from on top of your head and send it cascading down the street. That's why White Shadow chose this day to have an picnic. She smiled as she felt the warm air draft around her body as she hovered an pot of tea in front of her, slowly letting the cold liquids pour into the tea-cup that was sitting on the bright red checkered blanket. She always preferred her tea cold, something about the drink told her it needed to be poured down her throat with ice cubes flowing in it. She put down the pot an levitated the tea-cup and put it to her lips, sipping with caution. Sometimes she doesn't get the mixture quite right. Happy it satisfies her taste buds, she started to drink more heavily as she watched loud group of fillies chase after each other, laughing and cheering.

They eventually ran out of eye-sight, and she took out the rest of her food out, and started to munch on her cupcake, looking at the the lonely red blanket. She always did things alone, she was never an social pony. She wakes up in the morning, goes to her job as working as an waitress, comes home, and reads the rest of the day. She doesn't know why she works as an waitress, she got an horrible pay and depended on tips, and the customers drives her crazy. She was glaring at her cupcake, thinking about how she was going to quit, that's why she didn't notice the pony walking up to her, an smug look on its face.

the pony yelled out loudly, causing white shadow to jump and loss focus of her magic, causing her to drop the cupcake. "What?" she grumbled, staring down at her ruined cupcake.
"I know this is an bit random, but I dare you to walk to the old castle in the Everfree, and then walk back without freaking out!"
White shadow eyes widened in surprise, and then she had an confident smile. If she had only said no, she could save herself an life of misery, quit her job, maybe even finding her some-pony and having foals of her own. But destiny doesn't work that way.
"Sure, the Everfree doesn't scare me anyway"
White Shadow said, rolling her eyes as she packed her things into her saddle bags and then levitated them onto her back. She didn't want to risk the chance of somepony stealing them. The Everfree forest wasn't very far away, the pony followed her as she turned around an corner. Nothing can go wrong today, right?

When the two stopped at the border of the dense, dark forest, the pony turned to smirk at White Shadow. "Good luck" He chuckled out, but White Shadow didn't need it. Without another word, she turned and stepped over the shadow that looms around the forest. An few minutes later, she finds out that she she be afraid of the forest, but only because of the vines. They were everywhere, catching onto her hooves and making her trip, tangling up in her mane, and some places they were so thick she had to blast through them with her magic. Finally, she saw an opening in the forest and stumbled toward it gladly, not wanting to look at another vine again. It was an worn out path, but White Shadow knew there was only one path in the whole forest, and it led to the two sister's castle. She stepped into the path gladly, and started walking down it joyfully, an hop to her step. Awhile later, she stopped to have an snack when she spotted something shimmering off ways the path. Curious, she forgot about her snack and stepped off the path, walking towards the object. It was just an old pot, with strange black and white patterns on it. She started to dig into the the dirt beside the pot with her hooves, Slowly getting the pot un-stuck. When it was free, she levitated it in front of her eyes, looking at the chipped edges. She was just about to put it back down when she felt an pain in her horn, which was strange because that only happens when she has no energy inside her. She tried to drop the pot again, but her spell failed to cut off. The pain in her horn was growing, and she was groaning in pain not before long and was trying to smash the pot against an tree, but it refused to break. Suddenly, the magic aurora turned green and black, and started to bubble. White Shadow recognized with horror what it was. It was dark magic, the magic King Sombra used to rule the Crystal Empire. It was in her now, the stupid pot must of got control of her magic. The pain in her horn was becoming unbearable, and her ears were ringing. She started to scream, fear raging like an wild fire in her body. I'm going to die, i'm going to die... was her thoughts as she stumbled to the ground, curling in a ball as her fear and thoughts continued. I'm going to die, i'm going to die...
And then it all turned to black.
