Chapters Twilight just jumped through the portal back into her world. In her rainbow power kingdom, everything felt like home, but, little did she know something was off. Twilight trotted to bed, leaving the mirror out in the open. There was a yellow glow coming off of a unicorns horn. It wasn't from Sunset Shimmer, who still remained in the human world. But, this unicorn was someone different, for she knew Twilight quite well.... She had a mirror that led to another universe where everything was upside-down. This unicorn trotted into the palace, for it had no guards, fortunately, for this unicorn only.. the mirror she had was a replication of the human world mirror, although it was very different. The unicorn heard hoof steps and teleported out of the room. Though, it was just her own hoof steps. The sun rose over ponyville bringing out the sparkle in the castle.
-2 weeks later-
The book with a celestial symbol was beeping.
Spike went out with Opalescence for a pet grooming appointment, and Twilight activated the mirror. She waved goodbye to her ponyville pals, and trotted in. When she got to the other side, something felt.....off.
She tried to use her magic, but, nothing. She looked atop her forehead, she was just..a pegasus.....? She tried to go back, but, it wouldn't work. She started to panic, she couldn't get back and left her friends on the other side. She was in a castle, much like hers, only, orange. Then she saw a throne, with apples on it, and the LAST pony she would expect to be a princess, was sitting there, alicorn and all.
"Applejack?!" Twilight said. Applejack was startled than a sigh of relief, a small breath, and a smile later, she was back to normal.
"There y'all are! Ah wasn't expecting y'all this early , looks like your back from Baltimare early."
Twilight sweating "Um, heh, right."
Soon walked in..Rainbow Dash..? With a horn??? Glowing a moderate cerise, like her eyes. Levitating Daring do and the Griffon's goblet.
She said "Pardons Princess Applejack."
Applejack cut in "Of honesty."
Rainbow rolled her eyes and continued her words "Pinkie Pie is wishing to speak with you, now if you'll excuse me, I must get back to working on magic spells."
While Rainbow walked away, Twilight caught a glimpse of her cutie mark, a tri-coloured lightning bolt, check, cloud..not check. Her usual cloud was replaced with a bright white star. Twilight shrugged it off,
Must be normal for this..this..world..."
A hot pink unicorn then jumped up gracefully holding her head high wearing a purple dress with black lace trimming with her hair done nicely and a purple feather in her hair. The same dress she wore during you gotta share, you gotta care. She walked in, using her pink magic to lift up some new designs, mainly pink, with some reference to feathers or candy, or anything pink. After the happy unicorn, the one with a cutie mark of a dress with balloons and diamonds, pinkie, left, a pegasus with a curled , purple mane and similar tail,walked in, with 3 diamonds with white wings attached to them. She flew quickly to Princess Applejack leaving a thin line of purple like her mane. She slowly said she needed permission to try out for the fashionbolts, aerial relay team dedicated to flying and fashion. As this was her favourite aerial relay, she asked the princess.
"Of course y'all can try out ferr that team o' yers, just make sure y'all try yerr hardest."
Rarity than bowed thanking the princess for her permission
"Thank you, Princess Applejack of Honesty." Rarity said bowing and walking backwards while doing so. Twilight walked forward to Applejack.
"Uh, Princess Applejack, do you, need anything done?"
Applejack looked confused.
Twilight stepped up "Well,um, sure. If I'm here to do work, that's what I will do." Applejack looked confused, yet, happy.
"Well, there is one thing y'all can do ferr me." Applejack said. Using her moderate sap green magic aura, she handed a package and a note onto her back.
Twilight thought 'huh, usually I'm the one handing off packages, and usually if I were to deliever them I would use my magic, this world doesn't give me my horn, I guess I'll have to rough it'
Twilight luckily had alot of flying practice. She grabbed the package in her hooves, and started to fly off.
Twilight was about to take off when Applejack cut in "Whoa whoa whoa, hold your horseshoes little girl." "Ah haven't even told y'all where you are going!"
Twilight chuckled and nodded her head in understanding.
"This package is very important, and it needs to get to Manehattan ASAP, Ah need y'all back here tomorrow at 4:00 pm."
"Now go!"
Twilight still had the package hanging in her hooves. She stretched a little, than took off, leaving a pink and purple trail, with white sparkles. She glanced over to the sight of Manehattan and dived down reading the address of the house she was supposed to deliver. She couldn't believe who was at the door.
"C-Ce-Celest-Celestia?" .
And there was Celestia. No flowing hair. Just pink and still. Like a rock. She was younger than she was before, around Twilight's age. A little older. Her hair was done in a fancy, Canterlot hair-do. But, there was something off about this Celestia. No wings, no horn. Earth pony Celestia stood before her. She delivered the package while looking at pictures. There was a unicorn Luna in the picture. Before Twilight knew it, the door shut. She was shocked by the sound, than quickly recovered. She flew back to Ponyville where the bright orange castle was. She landed in front and opened the door. Applejack nearly yelled.
"Well good riddins' it's just you Twi!" "Gave me quite the jump there!"
Applejack said with a relieved and jumpy tone. Twilight appoligized then asked
"Do you know who Celestia, Luna, and Cadence are?"
Applejack looked puzzled. "Why do y'all wanna know
Twilight shot up "Just wondering!"
Applejack thought this a little weird, but she knew the answer, so, she answered. "Celestia is a pink-mained earth-pony mare who lives in Manehattan. Luna is her younger unicorn sister who lives in Baltimare. and Cadence is a filly pegasus who's family moved to the crystal empire."
Twilight seeped in all this information, then she coughed up another question.
"Who is in Cadence's family?"
Applejack found it a bit weird that Twilight was asking all these questions, as the Twilight in this world usually knew the answers. Then again, Applejack just rolled with it.
"Well, she has her older sister, Scootaloo, her mother, Cheerilee, and her father, Night Light."
Twilight snapped as she heard the name. It was HER father. Twilight nodded her head in understandment and flew swiftly off.
Applejack went to see the other princesses. She entered the castle by quickly flying there and used her magic to open the door. In the castle room were the other 3 princesses. Princess Ditzy Doo, Princess Vinyl Scratch, and Princess Lyra. They were talking about big, important stuff that Applejack didn't understand, so she left. Doing so, she noticed Duchess Octavia Melody (pegasus) , Princess's Vinyl's girlfriend, Duchess Amethyst Star (Earth-pony), the royal chef, Sweetie Drops (Unicorn) (Bon-Bon), and the royal sky cleaners, Flitter and Cloudchaser. (still pegasi like in Regular Equestria). Applejack saw this as all normal. So she flew away. It was late anyway, she needed to get to bed. Applejack flew from Canterlot to Ponyville, as Princess Lyra rose the moon above Equestria, and as Princess Ditzy lowered her sun. Applejack finally settled on her front doorstep and opened the lock using a key. She entered her bedroom and fell asleep. Behind the sleeping Applejack, a candle glistened in the hallway.
Twilight was holding a candle on a dish in her mouth. She made sure Applejack was asleep before she crept around. After Applejack left to briefly visit Canterlot, she saw a book about genealogy. Twilight made her way to the library by flying so she didn't make the noise of hoofsteps, but there was still the noise of flapping wings and her gliding through the air. She saw the library and made a sharp left turn. She found a scroll on genealogy, and began to read it. She wanted to find out who was in her family in this world, she feared if she asked Princess Applejack, it would seem quite stupid and Applejack might find out that she was a different Twilight. She pulled out a scroll from the pile, and kept saying 1 word in her mind. Twilight...Twilight..Twilight..
After she went over the first scroll and she didn't find anything, she moved onto the next, then the next, then the next, and the last one. After reviewing the 5 scrolls that were there, she moved onto the giant genealogy book, with about 14 000 + pages. This book was special, because every time a new pony was born, a new chapter was added about their family and life. When the book asked for a name Twilight mumbled "Twilight, Twilight Sparkle." This just may be the most advanced piece of technology in Mequestria. The book couldn't find Twilight Sparkle, but, Twilight wasn't over yet. She flashed back
"There y'all are! Ah wasn't expecting y'all this early , looks like your back from Baltimare early."
"That means, there is ANOTHER TWILIGHT in this world, still in Baltimare." Twilight said excitedly to herself quietly. The purple pegasus got a notebook and a pencil. Then she swiftly flew off to her bedroom, for, now instead of dusk, the stars were shining extremely bright, and the moon was brushing all of Mequestria with it's bright, glistening moonlight.
The people in Canterlot High were now excepting Sunset Shimmer for who she was. Though Sunset, and the rest of the gang, were not that jumpy, except for Pinkie Pie.
"Darling, are you sure Twilight got that message?" Rarity said.
Sunset replied "Yea, after I sent it, her friends sent me a message saying she hopped through the portal."
Rainbow spoke up "So why isn't she here yet?"
Fluttershy spoke "It's been nearly 3 days since we wrote her that letter, I suspect she should have been here by now."
"We all did." Pinkie and Applejack said in unison.
"Well, let's give her another 2 days, then we'll send another message." Sunset Shimmer declared.
Pinkie spoke "But, what about the-"
about to finish her sentence, but was stopped by Sunset putting a finger up to her lips. Pinkie still finished her sentence, though it was mumbled as Sunset still had her finger on her lips. "cwhgfings."
As pinkie finished the sentence, still having sunset place a hand over her mouth. Sunset wanted to change the subject and noticed Soarin drinking a mango smoothie in the same cafe as them. She saw Rainbow staring at Soarin and saw a small rose tint to her cheeks come out. So, she saw this as a golden opportunity.
"So.." She began. "Rainbow's got a crush!" The rest of the gang besides Rainbow were laghing.
"W-what, n-no I-I d-don't-t!" Rainbow stuttered.
"Then why are you blushing, darling?" Rarity asked.
"Because, I'm, I'm.." She sighed, not knowing what to say next, her friends would find it a lie. "I have a crush on Soarin."
Rainbow gave up, and spilled the truth.
"Well then, why don't you go and give him this apple pie I made, you take the credit." Applejack said.
"Thanks AJ." Rainbow said, taking the pie. She walked over to Soarin where she sat down on the table. The rest of the gang couldn't hear what they were saying, but they could see the actions. Rainbow Dash presented the pie, Soarin tried some, finished his bite, hugged Rainbow, Rainbow blushed, and Soarin kissed her on the cheek. She even blushed more. Sunset excused herself from the group to get another donut.
"Phew, they forgot all about it."
*Back In Equestria*
"That gal's been gone a looong time now, ain't ya think girls?" said Applejack.
The rest of the mane 6 nodded their heads in agreement.
Pinkie started speaking but was interrupted. "Maybe we should-". But was interrupted as the message book was glowing on the yellow carpet with a white sparkle on it. Rarity used her magic to open the book. In there, was a message from the human world. It read
'Dear Princess Twilight~ Did you leave yet? cause you aren't here. ~Your Friend~Sunset Shimmer~'
"So, Twilight isn't there?" Rarity said "But she went through the portal, we SAW her go through the portal!" Rarity continued.
Rainbow Dash cut in "So, where DID she go?"
Author's Note
Before anyone complains about spelling mistakes, Mequestria is the name of this alternate universe, ok!
Twilight flew at the fasted pace she could toward the spa. She had booked an appointment to change her mane and tail colour and style, and her fur colour. That way, when she approached the Twilight from this world, she wouldn't question her looking exactly the same.
After her spa appointment she got some paint, baby bluish white like her new fur, and painted so she was a blank flank. She then got some make-up paint from the store, covering up her flank with a dress so no one would question her as an adult being a blank flank. When she got to her newly built home, she lay down the paints, and painted something on her flank, she pulled away, and looked in the mirror. Her cutie mark was 2 quills, crossing over each other, making a heart.
"That should work." Twilight said with confidence.
"Now to fly on over to Baltimare!"
As Twilight flew through heavy weather toward Baltimare, a thought occurred to her.
"What are my friends doing?" she thought aloud.
Meanwhile back in Equestria..
"Whaddya reckon Twilight's dealin with now y'all?" Applejack said.
"Well, she's probably not being awesome, that's MY job." Said a Rainbow maned mare.
"Rainbow, darling, can you STOP with all this bragging!" said a white unicorn.
"Well it's not my fault I'm TOTALLY AWESOME!" Rainbow dash said. "Not that many people have a rainbow mane, and, to say, I'M the only pony in EQUESTRIA, possibly, the ENTIRE WORLD, who can do a sonic rainboom, if that's not worth the praise, then I don't know what is!" Rainbow yelled.
"Rainbow Dash! Do ya mind bein a lil' bit quieter, are y'all trying to tell this to Canterlot or us!" said the country mare, rolling her eyes.
The celestial book started flashing. The only 2 ponies to know this at first were Pinkie and Fluttershy.
"Uhh.." Fluttershy started, with Pinkie finishing her sentence.
"Guys lookie lookie! The book is glowing!" Pinkie yelled.
"Really y'all, I swear, Canterlot can hear ya both!" Applejack said, pointing her hooves to Pinkie and Rainbow. "Wait, the book is glowin?" Applejack calmly said.
The 5 friends opened the book to read a message from the human world.
"Applejack, darling, may I read the message?" Rarity said. She got a simple nod from Applejack. Rarity began speaking.
"Dear Princess Twilight. When are you coming to the human world? The changelings.. wait CHANGELINGS?!" Rarity said than fainted.
"What?! How did the changelings get to the human world?!" Rainbow yelled out.
"Ah don't know y'all, but they are certainly there now..." Applejack said.
"Well we gotta go after them!" Rainbow Dash yelled, but was stopped after Applejack grabbed and pulled on her tail.
"We can't, Twilight already went through and it would make things pretty confusing if Canterlot high suddenly had 2 of all of us."
"So HOW do we help Applejack?! You got a better idea."
"Well, no I don't Rainbow Dash but i know your idea isn't good either."
"STOP!!!!!!!!!" Fluttershy yelled out. Fluttershy usually didn't yell so when she did, ponies knew it was serious. "WE can't go through the portal, but you know who could? Spike!"
Every pony nodded their heads in agreement and understandment.
"We should be able to get Spike out of the appointment darlings, but what about Opalescence?" Rarity asked.
"She'll be fine, I can care to her." Fluttershy said calmly.
"Ooh look, there's Baltimare!" Twilight said swooping down towards the place.
Twilight scanned high, and she scanned low, looking for a purple pegasus with a blue mane and pink highlights. She scanned over the news press and saw the one.
"Ok, I'm going down!"

Twilight knocked on the door of the other Twilight's house. The mare opened the door.
"Hello, can I help you?" The other Twilight said.
"Yes you can. My name is Twili..Writer Quill."
"Alright Writer Quill, I am gonna call you Quill, what do you want?"
"I just wanna know who is in your family."
"Well, I have my mom, Twilight Velvet, which is also a pegasus, my sister and track star, Fluttershy, who is an earth pony who gets it from my father, Comet Tail."
"Ok, well, thank you. Twilight."
"No problem Quill."
"Huh? I mean thank you."
"Ok..."
Twilight closed the door and the original Twilight flew away. She flew to the castle and went to the mirror. Still flat.
"I wonder when it will open."
Twilight still sat by the mirror.
In Equestria
Spike was walking back to Twilight's castle. He had just finished with Opalescence.Even though he meant for it to be a day, it was a lot longer. Once he walked into the throne room, all the ponies were panicking.
"Hey guys, what's going on?" Spike asked.
"SPIKE!" They all yelled in unison attacking him with a hug.
"Twilight's locked in the other world! She went to help these 'humans', but we got a message from them saying she hadn't arrived. Can you help us?" Rainbow asked.
Spike examined the mirror and saw that the book was missing. He looked carefully at the mirror, instead of a pony, it was 8 bent arrows in the shape of a circle chasing each other.
"That's because she didn't." Spike said.
"Huh?" They all asked in unison.
"This isn't the mirror to the human world, it looks like a mirror to a chaotic world."
"Oh." They all said again. Spike spoke again.
"Give me that book."
Rarity used her magic to levitate it to him. He climbed up a bunch of books, and placed the book on it's correct spot. The mirror almost instantly opened up.
Twilight was leaning against the mirror when suddenly she fell through. She was back in Equestria, her homeland, she was an alicorn, and everything was back to normal. She hugged all her friends.
"What happened back there?" Rainbow asked.
"Oh you won't believe it."
"Tell us!" Rarity said.
Pinkie Pie felt like she was gonna explode when everyone turned their attention to her.
"You went to this alternate world and you were a pegasus pony there and Fluttershy was like this REALLY REALLY famous track star who was your sister and Applejack was this alicorn princess and Rarity, Rarity wanted to join this aerial relay team called the Fashionbolts and Rainbow Dash was a unicorn who worked with Applejack and I was a snooty unicorn who loved fashion and Derpy Lyra and Vinyl were like princesses there and everything was twisted around!
Everyone started at Pinkie Pie like she spat out random words then back at Twilight who had her jaw wide open and her eyes filled with shock.
"I forgot, never question Pinkie Pie." Twilight said.
Everyone turned their attention to the glowing book. Twilight opened it.
"Dear Twilight, again, we are worried about you, but the changelings-wait CHANGELINGS- are gone." Twilight said. "Huh, that's..ok.."
Everypony laughed.
"So Twilight," Spike said. "If that isn't the human mirror, who took it?"
"I DID!"
Everyone turned their attention to a turquoise unicorn with light blue and white hair.
"I took it to finish a study." She said. "About humans. That's right Lyra Heartstrings is BAAAD!"
Everyone laughed. Lyra gave Twilight back the mirror. As they didn't want anyone to end up in the twisted place, they destroyed it.
"And they all lived..cheesy endings. I'll forget that part." said a purple pegasus with green and blue hair and a cutie mark of 2 brushes making a heart shape out of black and white paint with a music note in between.
"Wow Harmonic," Twilight said. "Interesting story."
Everyone laughed.
