Entry 1: March 14, 2019
Dear Journal,
My name is Peni, but you won't be able to reply, so I don't know why I "told" you. I needed to write in you because my sister got me this. I can't just not use it. Well, I bet you expect me to write my feelings, what happened today, so on and so forth. But I probably won't, or I probably will. Don't "keep your hopes up" because there's a good possibility I won't. Anyways, I've got work today, and my sister, Sweet Notes, is coming over with her son, Everest Jr. I'll see you after work, you strange book.
Your new "author",
Penned Hearts
"Peni, I'm here! I couldn't bring Junior, he got sick, and Everest is watching over him. Peni?"
A young, light yellow unicorn mare walked into the house, a purse and jacket in her saddlebags. A small picnic basket levitated beside her, the deep orange magic holding it up. "Are you here? If you are, I'm sorry I didn't knock, I used my set of keys." She set a key ring in a small ceramic bowl next to the door. The mare walked through the house, occasionally shouting her younger sisters name. When the mare walked into the living room, she noticed Peni's desk. A small book lay open, the page date telling of last Friday.

Dear Junie,
I've gotten the same letters for the past few days. All of them say the same thing. "I will find you, and once I do, my revenge will have been EXACTED." I don't know what it means, but-
The entry stopped there. Another word was started, but ended in a small scribble of ink, running down the page and lightening, as though the quill had run out of ink. Under the cover of the book, a corner stuck out, catching the mare's attention. She pulled it out, rather than lifting the edge of the book. The ink had dried, luckily, so the words didn't smudge. It was what had been written that caused the mare to crush the paper into a ball.
I have your sister. If you ever want to see her again, Sweet Notes, I suggest you come and find me. -You'll never guess who
Day 1: Peni's Perspective
It's been 12 days since I got the silly book. A simple black booklet, filled with 100 thin pages of college-ruled paper. The front came with stickers, and the entire thing came with a little, magic lock, a crystalline sky-blue balloon holding it magically shut. The only way to open it was to be myself. The element of Laughter.
I began to write the 12th entry of the book, which I'd for some reason come to calling 'Junie', short for 'Journal'.

Dear Junie,
I've gotten the same letters for the past few days. All of them say the same thing. "I will find you, and once I do, my revenge will have been EXACTED." I don't know what it means, but-
A rag presses against my mouth and nose, held by a deep brown wing. My first instinct: hold my breath. I'd taken several emergency classes in the case scenario of being kidnapped, robbed, or stalked. Two legs of a different color wrap themselves around my back legs, while the owner of the deep brown wing grabs my torso, pinning my front legs to my sides. My lungs burning, I knew my only two choices: lose consciousness due to the drug, or due to complete lack of oxygen. I chose the drug, since it would take no time at all. Almost instantly, my body relaxes, and my eyes close.
I wake slowly, my body aching and feeling... bare. My hoof moves slowly to my stomach, a clothing-less abdomen but a cloth-wrapped thigh. I press gently into the wrapping, and feel a stinging pain. I breath inwardly, hissing almost like a cat. I let my hoof fall to my side, and-
Splash
My eyes jump open, the whisper of a hoof falling into water bringing me back to reality. A bright light I assume to be the sun hovers above me. I then realize it CAN'T be the sun, it's far too wide. Slowly, and incredibly stiffly, I sit up, sitting almost like Lyra Heartstrings. What I see is NOTHING I could've ever expected.
The huge face of Sweet Notes 'sperm donor' of a biological father, Mr. McCart.
And it wasn't just huge as in close, it was ENORMOUS! As if he had been enlarged, or I had been shrunk. I assumed the latter, seeing as I was sitting in a sort of aquarium as though I were a turtle.
"Wake-y, wake-y, little filly. How do you like your new home?" Mr. McCart asked me, his voice booming and muffled at the same time. "You'll be the main attraction in my house until your pathetic older sister arrives to get you."
"'Pathetic'? Ha! Doubt you really know what that means. You know, most people who have a mental illness are unable to accept it. But in your case, I repeat this one word: PATHETIC," I called out to him. His face contorted in a slight rage, but the huge smile he had plastered on stayed. McCart knocked heavily on the glass of the aquarium, and the sound reverberated off every wall, making it feel like my ear drums would burst. Covering my ears, I fell onto my stomach and lay there, seeming small and weak.
"You, little miss Peni Hearts," McCart said, "are subject to any and all torture I bring upon your frail little body. The simple ransom of your life is enough to make your sister burst through my front door at any moment of any day. And until she does, you'll be here, sitting in this aquarium." He stalked off, and before he left the room, he said, "Oh, and just so you know, the aquarium is enchanted to make you look like a turtle when a pony isn't paying enough attention."
I sat down, now having time to think without that gargantuan asshole staring at me. Sweet Notes would NEVER notice I was in here! You don't expect a pony to be shrank down and stuffed into an enchanted aquarium like I was. Damn, I thought, I'm so fucked right now...
