Prologue : In a place of justice
The crowd bellowed as Red Blaze entered the court. the jury fired disgusted looks like arrows , pinning him down . The only one in the court room who wasn't showing all of their malice and hatred towards him was his lawyer and two members of the crowd. Instead of throwing their hooves around ready to give him a good bruising or slurring insults the two threw those looks at the others . They were subtle though, not yelling and punching the air they were staring and whispering. Somehow he felt they must be part of the revolution, here to pull off some malicious stunt to save him. The three princesses walked forward , all showing their hatred towards him, they stood near the judges podium, something told him they would have a say in his final sentence.
"Order , order in the court!" The judge bellowed, smashing the hammer onto the podium , his eyes fixed on Red.
The crowd fell silent , yet still firing away with the looks. Red gazed around, only two ways in and both of them were guarded by a couple of guards at each side of the door. Four gaping wide windows flooded sunlight into the extravagant courtroom. The entire room was made with mahogany wood, one of the rarest and finest of wood in all of the kingdom. Red gazed at how beautiful the room was and as he was he remembered the streets of Canterlot. A starving family on every street corner, Earth Ponies having to give up their jobs and homes just a less qualified unicorn wanted it. He remembered why he made those speeches , to try to change all of it and obviously it wasn't a shortage of funding if they could build some of the finest buildings in all of the world for a select few.
"Today, Mr Blaze stands for his crimes against our way of life, for causing a hostile force to take to the streets to cause havoc!" The Judge said.
The crowd roared up again and the Princesses scrunched up their faces at him, suppressing him with their snobbish disgust. The two stallions in the crowd stood up and took off their coats and revealed two small and concealed knives, Red barley noticed them as they rested their hooves on them. The guards noticed them out of the crowd, they eyed them down as they began to walk down the aisle between the two seating areas, starring at Blaze the whole time.
"Order! Now Mr Blaze how do you plea?" The judge roared in a malicious tone.
Red looked over to his Lawyer who stared with a confused look. He then looked to the stallions, now standing at the bottom of the seating area, staring out to the judge whilst the guards fixed their eyes upon them. Red built up the courage inside of him to speak up, he had never been shy but the idea that if he says the wrong thing it could end up in his death.
"Not guilty your honour" Red said confidently.
The crowd roared in anger and disagreement, the two stallions nodded. Two of the guards started to approach the couple, snarling looks in their faces. They leaned to the side to their swords and prepared to battle with them, the crowd nearby hardly noticing it. The judge nodded to a stallion seated behind Red and he stood up and grabbed a video player and a tape.
"I have evidence that suggests otherwise, your honour" The Prosecutor said gleefully.
"You have the floor, Prosecution" The judge replied quickly.
He set up the recorder as the two guards began to speak to the stallions, the guards hooves firmly gripping the sword that was about to be swung at them. The Prosecutor nodded to another sitting nearby who placed the tape firmly inside the machine, then two other stallions rolled down a white canvas that the video player projected onto. A slideshow containing pictures of graffiti all over the walls of Canterlot, most of them containing the phrase 'follow the teacher' or 'for the Red way'.
"As you can see here your honur, many of these muriels painted onto the walls of Canterlot by the revolutionary extremists that they seem him as there leader and guided and must have.."
"I object! He didn't say anything about extremism in his speeches and I have an eyewitness!" Red's lawyer furiously interrupted.
"Hmm...You have the floor Defendant..." The judge replied, suspicious of his actions.
"Thank you your honour, I would like to call Amethyst Star to the stand" The lawyer said
A nervous mare stood up from her seat as blood was shed. The confrontation had become violent as one of the stallions lunged his knife into the chest of the guard, blood pouring out onto the fine mahogany flooring. The crowd roared in horror, the nearby seated scrambled to their feet as the lifeless corpse of the guard dropped to the floor. The other didn't have anytime to react, he met the same fate and tumbled to the ground. The other two guards came charging forward but they were stopped in their tracks by three knives thrown towards them, piercing their body. The princesses stepped forward and began to charge their magic until a huge explosion flashed throughout the room. The princesses were knocked to the floor and large groups of extremists walked through the doors and waded their way throughout the panicking crowd. Soon to follow them was a large swarm of Pegasi smashing through the great windows and dive attacked the jury and the prosecution. Red's lawyer was knocked to floor, Red rushed out of the box he was imprisoned in and pulled him from his knees and tried to get him to stand. Two Pegasi flew down to them and offered their hooves to Red and his lawyer, smiling with a sympathetic yet nervous smile. Red would not further associate himself with the extremists, he pushed them away.
"I am not going with you! You're the reason I was at court!"He yelled as he ducked as more Pegasi flew over his head.
"So you'd prefer to get sentenced to death then to escape and join your followers? That's rather strange of you" one of the pegasi said in a confused manner.
"No I am getting out here but not with you and you are not my followers!" He yelled "my followers are peaceful and don't want to fight, that is what my Communism is about!"
"We must make sacrifices for peace to occur, you said it yourself!" The Pegasus replied
"I didn't mean creating a hostile takeover of the government, practical sacrifices!" Red yelled "I'm getting out of here without you!"
Red threw his lawyer onto his back and charged towards the door charred door. Dead bodies of ponies from the crowd surrounded it as did the alive revolutionaries. He kicked his way through them and out into the courtyard where almost every fire fighter was there waiting to stop the blaze. He placed his wounded attorney against one of the columns outside and he approached the crowd of fire fighters, listening to the light chatter with every step he took. All he could make from it that they weren't going to save the revolutionaries and only the civilians and princesses. Red ducked for cover when he saw a team of guards come charging towards the courtroom, spears out on the front. They didn't notice him or his lawyer who where dotted along the sides of the area. He knew this area well, out of Justice Plaza was the Presdium hills which led onto the main road down to the city. I he could get to the Presdium without getting spotted by law enforcement then he would be safe yet vulnerable.
Red was going through the details in his head when he noticed all the fire fighters ducked down and suddenly he was flung towards them as an explosion spread across the Plaza. The fire fighters were ironically engulfed in flames, many of them flung towards like he was. The last thing he saw was the hooves of one princess and a group of firemen until he faded to black.
He thought it was his end. It was only the beginning.
Smoke, smoke and pain. Those were the first things that Red felt when he woke from his temporary death. The smoke still was rising front the top of the building, the bodies still sprawled across the plaza. After enduring and breaking through a wall of pain he finally got up and looked around. The Presdium was looking fine but the main city was deavstated. A thick black behemoth of a smoke cloud rose up from the fires of the city. He could hear explosions and the combat going on and the crackling sound of the fires. He made his way out into the Presdium and gazed upon the hill neighbourhood. It was calm, safe and mostly none of the buildings were on fire which was a key piece of evidence that the darkness that was stricken upon Canterlot was not on the Presdium Hills. He had to get out of the city, the revolution was in full swing and no doubt that the Equestrian Government was out to gut his throat like a fish. He remembered an old contact he had in the Presdium called Soarin, he was ex-Wonderbolt and had helped organised a demonstration for him during the Wonderbolts festival last year. If he still lived in the Presdium he could help if he hadn't joined the revolution.
Suddenly he fell to his knees, his mind was blurring up like some sort of power corrupting his soul. He could hear whispering and children laughing, then silence. The silence was cut by horrific screams and the sounds of fires burning and swords clashing. The whispering cultures louder as he dropped onto his back, like many of the other ponies around him. Suddenly the sounds became a vision, playing out like a video around him. He saw royal guards charging and killing children as they tried to run away from the horrors unfolding before them. He saw the revolutionaries charge forwards at the guards, swords drawn and covered in blood.
Then suddenly broke apart and turned to dust, spiralling around and finally vanishing upon touching the ground. He kept telling himself what he saw wasn't real and that it was just an illusion messing with his head yet he gazed upon the city and thought it wasn't an illusion, but a vision of the future. The fires consuming the city were still roaring, clouding the sky of the area and burning away at the home of millions yet the palace was untouched. 'If the Revolutionaries were causing the havoc then why didn't they attack the palace?' He thought to himself, bringing himself to his hooves and he began on his journey to find Soarin.
