"God DAMN it, Rob." Cameron cursed violently under his breath, as he stared up at the thick canopy above him. He had no clue where he was, how he got there (besides physics breaking wall of light and dumbass friend), and more importantly, how he survived that huge fall. Cameron knew for a fact that he had broken bones, the pain was pretty clear. Years of kickboxing sort of etched the pain into your brain, and then associated it with different injuries. This definitely felt like a broken rib or two, and maybe even a broken leg. The sounds of birds chirping and various other animals going about their business filled his ears, and thus the boy assumed he probably wasn't in Kansas anymore. Though, he never lived in Kansas in the first place... Whatever.
The moments of peace set Cameron's mind into one of extreme calm, and he reflected on his experiences. It always happened when he was alone, and somewhere oddly comfortable. In Year Seven, Rob Gerand crashed into his life and boy, did that shake things up. From a quiet and almost timid boy, Cameron grew into an outspoken and strong teen, one who was selfless as opposed to selfish and always considered the other perspective in things. Yep, he was a pretty decent human being. Though, he supposed he'd have to be. Especially when dealing with his good friend's bipolar tendencies. Sometimes Rob could be a calm and collected, and usually, he was. It made him a funny and enjoyable guy to be around. Though other times, like someone had flicked a switch in his head, Mr. Gerand became a short-lived, angry teenager that would pretty much lash out at anything that moved of even had the slightest contribution to his irritation.
Cameron's eye twitched. That guy could be a massive goon sometimes. He delved further into his memories.
The two had fought many times. Physically, they were matched. Mentally, Cameron's movements were methodical and planned, thanks to those years of kickboxing, again. On the other side of the coin, Rob's movements were violent, erratic and damn unpredictable. It made the fights long, painful and downright annoying. Though, Cameron supposed that nobody else at that school could've stopped him otherwise. When Rob got like that, there was no reasoning.
This was also the reason why the two lacked a great deal of friends.
Another eye twitch. Not out of irritation, but one of sadness, melancholy. They had said high school was to be the best time of their lives? Yeah.
What a load of shit.
Cameron was always seen as an opinionated prick, and Rob was seen as a violent twat. Simply put, the two were hated for almost all of their time in the same school as each other. It was only until the two had moved apart, that things started to look up for them, ironically. Cameron, with Rob gone, was seen as how he really was, a generally nice and caring guy. With Rob at his new school, Cameron had been told that he was a charismatic and generally okay guy. Still, the little switch as still there though, and there were a few fights he knew he'd gotten into. But after all their troubles, things looked up for the two of them.
Though nobody is perfect, which must be said. Cameron's main issue was over-ambition. He's hype himself all the time, making the end result seem so much more than it actually was. Then there was also Rob's confidence issue. The switcher. People knocked him when he was already low? Violence always ensued. But, hey, he'd never admit that. The veil of fake-confidence is much too thick.
Struck from his calm state of mind, Cameron felt his body go completely rigid. His back arced, and his wrists felt tight. He groaned, whatever was going on, clearly wasn't good. He vision blurred slightly, though he didn't feel tired. A wave of energy ran through his body, and he would shiver, were he not paralysed. Letting out another groan, he attempted to move again. No dice. Whatever was happening, Cameron had lost control of his body.
He felt a headache coming on, and another wave of energy passed through his body. His attention was caught by a faint glow in his vision. After some rearrangement, he realised the glow was coming from his hands and collarbone, as well as his forehead (he thought). A third wave passed through his body, this one more intense than the last two, and the lights on his person brightened.
Then came the pain. The horrible, horrible pain. Cameron heard the distinct sound of bones clicking and cracking, and his body felt like it was being ripped apart. The sensation was overwhelming, so much so that he didn't even react to the now harsh green light. Cameron felt his hands go numb, and his arms burn like that of an ache after exercise. Except, worse. It felt like his body was rearranging itself. The headache grew into a full blown migrane, and the manhood felt like someone decided they were playing baseball with his nads. Needless to say, it hurt like a motherfucker. He screamed, shouted and yelled in agony as the sensation continued to afflict his body.
Cameron rolled onto his front, gritted his teeth and slammed his front right into the ground, hoping to stand up. This proved to be a stupid move, as he fell instantly. Like static shocks now, the pain came in at random bursts. Some worse than the others, some not so bad. Each 'shock' sent an involuntary shake through his body.
After what felt like an eternity, the shocks ceased to affect him, and he felt like a measly twig under a hirer's boot, ready to snap in two at any give point. Whatever light was emanating from him had dissipated, and he lay once again, on his front in the middle of the forest. Though, aside from the whole twig shtick, he felt different. Smaller for one.
Eventually, Cameron's eyesight cleared, and he was greeted by a pale green muzzle in front of his eyes. He shrieked in surprise. He found the contents of his school blazer around him, phone, overdue letters, the lot. Using the phone's reflection whilst it was lying on the floor, Cameron got a look at himself, and instantly regretted it. Staring back at him was a pale green unicorn with burgundy mane, assorted so it fell down his face. The most distressing find was the lack of find. Basically, he found that his dick was gone. Perfect, he thought to himself (Of course, this was an understatment. Were he not in the middle of nowhere, he'd be flipping all kinds of magical horse shit. It's all about appearences). The rounded-point horn protruding from his head was a paper green, much like that of the decorative material one would receive in primary school, or an arts and crafts club. There was a dark green like glow emanating from it, seemingly mysterious and enchanting. He decided to attempt standing again.
Front left leg. Then... The back right? Nope, Cameron face planted. Hind legs, then front legs? Okay, that seemed to work. Walking? Front right, back left, fro- nope. Faceplant again (muzzleplant?). Cameron heard the distinct sound of hooves on the ground, and turned his head up from the ground to see three ponies walking to him. He shuddered. Cameron knew who they were, he just wished it wasn't true. The expected southern accent came to him.
"Boy howdy, are y'all the mare who caused that big ol' green light to shine?" Orange-ish earth pony. Applejack. Beside her was a flying pegasus, yellow in colour with pink mane and tail. Fluttershy. And of course, the white unicorn with a fabulous mane and tail, Rarity. The ex-minister mumbled an expletive under his breath, cursing his friend for dragging him through that light.
Though Cameron was aware of the light the farm pony referred to, he wasn't sure if he did cause it. Maybe there was something else. He opened his mouth to respond, and was surprised to hear his new voice,
"Th-the light? I don't know what you're talking about...?" He winced, the feminine voice wasn't exactly new to him, though it certainly wasn't normal for it to be his own voice. It was smooth, yet young, with a high pitch. "I-I mean, was there a light?" He figured he could play the unknowing card, hopefully it wou- Applejack narrowed her eyes. Shit. Element of Honesty blah, blah. Cameron cursed himself for forgetting.
"Huh, y'all are sure ya don't know about them two lights? If y'all are some kinda evil doer, yer partner will be found by mah friends pretty quick." The earth pony moved closer to the downed unicorn, as his ears perked up. Partner? Did that mean...? Rob?
"Okay, okay. Fine. I think I caused that light to appear? I don't know anything about it though, so please don't pry." Rarity stepped forward and offered a hoof to Cameron, who gladly took it. "I know it's suspicious, but I seriously don't know anything! Honestly!" He threw that last part in there for good measure. Seemingly satisfied with his answer, Applejack opened her eyes and beamed at him.
"Well why din't y'all just say so? Mah names Applejack, that there unicorn who helped yah up is Rarity, and that pegasus up there is Fluttershy." Going in for a hoof shake, Cameron found himself in a very awkward scenario. He needed to think of a name, and fast. Otherwise, the ponies would get suspicious again, and things would get pretty awkward. He chanced a glance at his flanks quickly, just to see if his cutie mark would give any inspiration. Crystal fragments around and teal glass-like rose.
"Uh, my name's, Crystal Rose. Nice to meet cha'."
After a longish and unstable walk through the forest, the newly dubbed Crystal Rose (though still preferring Cameron), had eventually followed the three mares in front of him to the familiar sight of Ponyville. Familiar, because he'd seen it on the show previously. It was pretty strange being there in perso- Er, pony. Applejack had mentioned he would lead the group to the library, where Cameron would wait in complete paranoia. Was there someone else here? Was it Rob...? He could only hope.
Besides, he still had to destroy him for the stunt he pulled in that damn Storage Room.
Cameron considered his objectives, the obvious one was get back home, but before that would be find who sent him here, why he was here, and last and probably least right now, find Rob. The unicorn was interrupted from his thoughts as he walked into a surprisingly solid piece of air. He soon found out that it was actually a massive tree, but whatever, same thing.
"Y'all ok there Crystal? Did ya ferget ta stop walkin'?" The farm pony sniggered the ex-human's folly. To which he responded with an unintelligible mumble of select words. "Anyway, this here is the library, and-" She was interrupted by the opening of the library door.
"Ah! There you girls are! Get in here!" Without anyone at the door, all four ponies were enveloped in purple magic and lobbed into the library. With a yelp, Cameron found himself on his back for the second time that day. "Applejack, Fluttershy, Rarity, those lights were caused by ponies! We found this orange pegasus in the fields!" (Princess) Twilight Sparkle announced her findings to the second group of ponies, before noticing Cameron. "Wait, who's this?"
"That my dear is Crystal Rose. We found the poor thing in the Everfree forest." Rarity responded, picking herself off the ground. They made it look so easy.
"So, she caused the green light?" The alicorn made to inspect the green unicorn, whom, was still splayed on the ground. He looked up at her.
"H-hello." He stuttered, feeling somewhat nervous under all the attention. "Could I by any chance, meet that pegasus?" He had a method for finding out whether or not this pony was Rob or not, so he was gonna test his theory. Twilight smiled and nodded.
"Of course. She's through there. Me and my friends have things to discuss anyway." She pointed a hoof up the stairs. The newly turned unicorn followed Twilight's directions, and ascended the stairs. Upon reaching the top, he was met with what he knew to be the alicorn's bed, and it's occupant was an orange pegasus mare, with shades of blue in her mane, sleeping peacefully. Though Cameron knew better, she was probably unconscious, knowing the agonising transformation the two went through. In any case, it was time to put his theory to test.
Approaching the mare, Cameron lifted a hoof, and gingerly brushed the stray bits of mane from the forehead of the pony. There, on the forehead was a straight scar, just above the eyes. That confirmed it. This mare was Robert Gerand, and Cameron let the sigh of relief free.
He knew about the scar, as Rob had received it when he was merely a three year old. He had told Cameron that his mother had accidently hit him square in the head with a hammer, when she was nailing in decorations. The poor boy had climbed the ladder his mum was on to see what she was doing, and at that moment, she had wrenched the hammer back and...
Well, technically the scar wasn't so much the hammer, as much as it was the young boy repeatedly picking the scab.
As for the theory? Well, it was exactly that. A theory. The reason he thought of it though, was that during their walk through Ponyville, Cameron had noticed the scar on his right foreleg, which would've been his right arm, just on the wrist where the bone was broken in kickboxing, the damn thing literally sticking out of the flesh.
A small smile crept onto the unicorn's face. Using the same hoof he used to brush the mane, he pulled his hoof back just above the peaceful face of the sleeping mare, as if to land a solid punch. Expectedly, he dropped the offending hoof towards the pegasus's head, unexpectedly however, said mare's eyes shot open just in time to roll out of the way. Upon instinct, the orange pony wrapped her forelegs around Cameron's foreleg, and flipped him over the bed. A loud bang ensued.
"Nice to see being a female pony hadn't left an effect on your stupidly fast reflexes." The unicorn, now balancing on his head, shot the mare a crooked grin, which then erupted into a full blown smile at the pegasus' realisation at her new form. A sigh emanated from her mouth.
"God damn it."
