The Princess Tales: Skyla's Adventures

The six fairies flew to the naming ceremony of Princess Cadenza's And Shining Armor's child, Princess Skyla. The party was full of joy for everyone in the Kingdom Of Equestria. Soon, everyone gathered iin the great hall for the gift giving of the fairies.

The fairy Rarity thought, What a hideous baby! "I shall give her the gift of beauty!" Soon, her dark purple main became lighter and gained a streak of yellow, her scrawny legs became plump, and her coat became a lighter shade of pink then before.

Ouch! It hurt to have your body change shape in 10 seconds. Skyla wailed as Cadenza rushed to her side and held her, trying to comfort her.

"Thank you for the wonderful gift," Shining Armor said. A person could get into a lot of trouble for failing to thank a fairy. Cadenza then curtsied in thankfulness too, even though she wanted to wail along with her daughter.

"My turn!" The fairy Twilight Sparkle said as she approched the newborn, who stopped crying and was put back inside the crib. "I the you the gift of intellegance! You will be ten times as smart as anypony in the world!"

Skyla expected this to hurt as much as the last gift did, but she did feel something. Infact, when she looked up from the crib she heard voices. It was her mother! She heard the mother thanking the fairy for a wonderful gift. She said that Skyla (That's me! That's me! would use her intelligance well.

The fairy Fluttershy gave her a loving heart. When Skyla opened her eyes, said "Goo," and blew a wet bubble.

"Sweet!" King Armor said.

"Adorable!" Princess Cadenza cheered.

Did the fairy really think that I wouldn't have a loving heart? Skyla thought to herself.

The fairy Rainbow Dash was stumped. She had no idea what to give the princess. She planned on giving the child inner strength, but that miserable Applejack stole her idea. Minutes passed as the other fairies laughed mentally at her, when she got it! And it was much better then Applejack's, too. "I shall give her..."

The room was silenced as a black and turquiose fairy slowly flew through the door, wearing the smile everyone had a few seconds ago. "Well, well, well. It seems someone failed to invite me to their only daughter's naming ceremony." The fairy chuckled.

"Chrysalis."

"Good to see you too, King Armor."

"We are honored to have you here," Cadenza said. Don't hurt the baby! Go away!

"Pretty nursery." Chrysalis cooed in an extra-sweet voice. "Cuddly stuffed unicorn. Grand doll castle. Beautiful baby." She said, looking into the cradle.

She looks angry, Skyla thought. You didn't have to be a genius to see that.

Rarity couldn't help but smile when she saw her gift to the baby was noticed by Chrysalis, but then went back into a frown as Twilight elbowed her.

"I suppose you have a reason why you didn't invite me to the naming ceremony of your only child?" Chrysalis asked angrily.

"We thought you were.."Shining Armor stopped. He was about to say that they thought she was dead, but made up something else. "We thought you..moved away. We are glad you could have made it."

"Nobody thought that I moved away, but some foolish people thought I was dead. But let me tell you, I am very much alive."

Skyla tried to get up, but her legs were not strong enough. Why couldn't the fairies give me something useful, like the ability to sit up and see what the heck is going on?

Everyone took a step back as Chrysalis continued on. "Perhaps you thought you would have enough gifts with only six fairies. Maybe you thought I couldn't come up with a good gift, like Rainbow Dash here."

But I did come up with a good gift....

"Well.. here is my gift for the child. Kitchy coo." She said as she waved her wand infront of Skyla.

Somepony do something! Stop her! Help! Skyla thought.

"My gift for the cutesy little baby is... that she will get pricked by a spindle and die!!" The room went into gasps as the fairy cast her spell, making a dark green light appear near the crib and vanish.

Princess Cadenza scooped up her baby, holding her tightly against her chest.

"Well, I cannot stay," the evil fairy cackled. "I must fly." And with that, she glided out the window.

When? Skyla wondered.When will I prick myself? When I'm eighty? Or in the next five minutes?

Tears were streaming down King armors face.What good is being king when fairies can do this?

"Your not going to prick yourself with anything. I won't let it happen." Cadenza said to her daughter.

"Um, hello? No one realized I haven't granted my gift yet." Rainbow Dash said as she cleared her throat.

"Can you help us? Can you reverse the spell?" The king pleaded.

"I would love to, but I can't. That would cause a fairy war, and belevie me, you would not want that to happen. I was thinking of making Skyla the bravest princess to ever live."

"So there is nothing we can do?" Cadenza cried.

Seing them like this made Rainbow Dash pity them. After all, it isn't right to punish someone THIS harshly for making a mistake. She then decided she would try to help them.

"Alright, I can't reverse it, but I can change the spell a little..."

"Thank you!" The king cried thankfully."

"Alright let's see, I can't do anything about the spindle, but perhaps... ok here."

"The day when she pricks herself with a spindle, she will not die, but instead.... um.... fall asleep! She will fall asleep for a hundred years and will be awoken with a kiss from a highly eligible prince." Rainbow smiled.

A hundred years? Skyla wailed and spoke with her intelligence.

"Mommy and Daddy are gonna die before I wake up!" and started crying, wishing Fluttershy didn't give her a loving heart.

"She can talk!" Cadenza dropped her mouth open, and almost also dropped Skyla.

If she was going to try and help the kid, she was going to have to do her best.

"Fine. When she pricks herself, she and everyone from the moat on in to the castle will fall asleep along with her, pets too." Rainbow chuckled. "Sweet dreams."
