Celestia's Love Game
Prologue

“What look?” Celestia asked with a grin.
“You have an Idea, and it's a juicy one. They always are.” Luna replied.
“You're not going to hear it, it's my own Idea.” Celestia said.
“Oh come on Tia, you never let me in on them.” Luna pouted.
“Oh hush.” Celestia said with a smile as she levitated parchment and a quill.
“What're you doing?” Luna asked.
“Inviting the Elements over. Even if I wasn't planning something, we never get to see them and they are as much friends as subjects.” Celestia said.
“Oh...um...all of them?” Luna asked shyly.
“Yes, they are your friends too.” Celestia said as she sent the letter.
“Yeah...I guess you're right...will you at least give me a hint?” Luna said, switching the topic mid sentence.
“Oh fine. I've gotten bored, and Hearts and Hooves day is near and none of them have anypony special.” Celestia said and left the room.
the next day, the six friends and Luna were enjoying a party Pinkie had somehow setup without Celestia' knowledge.
'Now...the fun begins! Let the love games begin!' Celestia thought to herself as she studied the six friends. Last night she had gone through all of the friendship reports to get more than just a basic feel for the ponies' preferences.
'Now...let's start with Applejack. She's strong, honest and a hard worker. Good matches would be either Rainbow Dash or Rarity. Both work exceedingly hard, though the scales tip towards Rarity because Applejack is always annoyed at Rainbow Dash's boasting and egotistical behavior. This is flawed, however, by the fact that Rarity and Applejack are quite different, but as of now they are the best pairing.' Celestia thought as she examined the three ponies in question closely.
'Next is Rarity. She's a hard worker and exceedingly generous, though is a bit too immersed into her line of work. Possible matches include Applejack and Fluttershy, though from Twilight's reports she thinks of Fluttershy as a sister now so that leaves the best possible pairing as Applejack.' She continued in her head.
'Then there's Rainbow Dash. Possible pairings could be any of the others except Rarity. Thinking about it, Twilight wouldn't be a good match either. Dash can't sit still for a second. This leaves Pinkie and Applejack. Going on to the next Pony, Pinkie, I can conclude that Dash and Pinkie are best suited towards each other. Both are full of energy, they can keep up with each other and they can easily put up with each other.' she thought, looking over the laughing pink pony hanging from the chandelier.
'Now, that leaves Fluttershy and Twilight. They seem like a good match, but I just don't see it happening. We'll start with Fluttershy. She's kind, very caring, extremely shy and sometimes not up to speed on current events. She worries too much about fitting in with her friends...hey that sounds a lot like...' she thought, looking at Luna as she shyly chatted with the group.
'Oh my Luna, Fluttershy seems a perfect match for you....you could never offend her due to ignorance and she will always care for you...that one will be tricky.' she thought with a smile.
'Now all that leaves is Twilight...I just don't see any of the others with her...let's see...she's smart- exceedingly so- and she cares about all of her friends, no matter how insignificant they think they are. She's a magical genius and wields enough power to vanquish the villains of our time...twice. Hmm...this is a tough one...she would make an excellent leader, it must be why the others look up to her as such.' she continued thinking.
'in their hooves, I would definitely follow her to the ends of Equestria...and in that case' she started in her mind, not able to control her own thoughts. 'I'd be hoping to get paired with her in this sort of Love game.' she finished her thought.
She shook her head at the thought, but her face gained a small tint of red as she thought more of it.
'I...it makes sense...Well Tia, looks like you and Twilight fit together as perfect as any of the others...now the question is, do you want it to fit?' she asked herself.
“What's wrong Twi'?” Applejack asked.
“Oh...um...you notice the Princess looks really deep in thought...she also looks...I dunno...Flustered?” Twilight explained. Applejack looked at the Princess for a good thirty seconds before she turned back to Twilight.
“Ah don' know what yer talkin' about. She does seem a bit Distracted, but I don't see any Deep thought processes 'er whatever...and she sure as hay aint Flustered...” Applejack said.
“Really? Look...she's got her jaw a bit slanted and she's not looking directly at anything. And her Mane is flowing faster than normal, that's the equivalent to a blush for her.” Twilight explained.
“How in the Hay can yuh notice all that? And how does that mean all of that stuff?” Applejack asked, surprised.
“Well, when she's deep in thought her eyes become unfocused but still looks like she's paying attention...her jaw is slanted too, that's when she's REALLY deep in thought...and normally her mane looks like it's in a tiny breeze, but it looks like a windy day now.” Twilight said.
“But exactly how could yuh notice all that? You been starin' at her or somethin'?” Applejack asked. Twilights face went red and she stammered.
“N-no of course not! I just noticed it...I dunno, I guess I just learned to notice these things... can you keep a secret?” Twilight asked.
“Sure Sugar.” Applejack replied.
“Well...I've known for a long, Long time that I've loved Princess Celestia...but it was just like the love of a friend or the love of a mother or something like that.” Twilight said.
“Ah get that. Wait, are yuh sayin' it's startin' to turn into a Different love?” Applejack asked.
“I'm not saying it's starting...it's already happened and I don't know what to do about it...” Twilight said, her ears drooping.
“Well yuh Might wanna keep that to yerself fer the moment, she's comin' over here.” Applejack said and pointed to where Celestia was approaching.
“Excuse me Applejack, if you weren't in the middle of something I'd like to borrow Twilight for a moment?” the Princess asked.
“GO ahead, we just finished what we wus talkin' about.” Applejack said and joined the others.
“What is it princess?” Twilight asked when Celestia took her to where she was sitting earlier.
“I'm going to let you in on a little secret. I got bored just now and decided to play a little mental Matchmaker game with all of you.” Celestia said with a grin.
“Oh really? I do that sometimes too...” Twilight replied.
“Great, out of those six, who do you think goes together the best?” Celestia asked.
“You can't figure it out?” Twilight asked.
“Oh I did already, I just want a little bit of solidity in my assumptions.” Celestia explained.
“Ok then...hm...I'm assuming you already know all of their traits and stuff * nod * so I'll just get right to it...I can see Dash and Pinkie- almost too easily-...AJ and Rarity...hm...Fluttershy...that would leave me and her, but I don't see it...wait a minute, she seems to get along really well with your sister...” Twilight said, thinking for a moment.
“I had come to the same conclusions.” Celestia said.
“Then that would leave me...did you think of a good match for me?” Twilight asked curiously.
“Perhaps...” Celestia said a bit hesitantly.
“I'll figure it out myself then...hm...you wouldn't know anypony from Ponyville besides us six on such a personal level...so that means they're in Canterlot...I was never particularly close to any of my class mates...and I was isolated from your other students...” Twilight began listing off.
“That means...hm...this is a tough one...can you give me a hint?” Twilight lied, she thought of Celestia right away, but didn't know how the Princess would react.
“She's in this room.” Celestia said.
“Really?...but I don't see...anypony...else...wait...” Twilight said. She couldn't believe it, was the Princess saying she had matched her to Celestia as well?
“It seems that you and I are a perfect Fit.” Celestia said with an awkward smile.
“A-apparently...this is all...just a game...right?” Twilight asked.
“It was...I got so into it though I decided I wanted to make it all happen...” Celestia replied, finishing softly.
“Wait...are you saying...you and I?” Twilight started.
“I don't know...perhaps?...no that's not a good answer...I don't even know what to think about this...” Celestia said, rubbing the bridge of her nose.
“Well. um...why don't we try it? I mean it can't hurt. I-if feelings start to grow then they start to grow..if not, it would be a learning experience right?” Twilight suggested.
“That's my Twilight...always trying to make things educational...Alright, but let's start with one of the others while I think of what to do with you.” Celestia said mischievously. 'Oh this will be fun!' she thought as Twilight kind of awkwardly laughed.
“Um...I've read a lot of books about ponies doing stuff like this...we have to uh...create situations where they would think of each other romantically...” Twilight said.
“I was just thinking of a rather devious way to do that...Care to hear?” Celestia said. Twilight nodded.
“I was originally going to make this an overnight, I never get to see any of you, and give you all rooms. But I can say we're a bit short on space and say we only have two rooms presentable.” Celestia said.
“So it'd be three to a room?” Twilight asked, confused.
“No silly, Lu and I are involved in this too. Fluttershy would share with Luna, My sister is too kind to refuse, and you would share my bed. That last part I had already intended, I missed when you were little and did that. But now it's a bit Different.” Celestia said with a grin.
“This seems kinda unfair that you're telling me all of this...If you want to do this leave me outa the planning...” Twilight said after a few moments. In all honesty she wanted to get her friends together, but she couldn't stand to hear everything Celestia had 'planned for her'.
“Fair enough...I'll make the announcement now.” she said and got the others' attention.
“Sorry to interrupt, but it's getting exceedingly late and I invite you all to stay here for the night. Unfortuanately there are only two rooms able to be slept in, so everypony will need to share. I'll be sharing my own bed tonight, Luna you should too...the rooms are a bit cramped.” Celestia said.
