It was dark night in Canterlot.
The night princess, known as Luna, just finished rising the moon to end the day.
Once again for the past 1,000 years, she looked out the window in her bedroom.
She saw those fancy poines going into their expensive homes, ready to sleep and rest for tomorrow.
It made her boil with rage inside everytime she saw that.
She shouldn't bring the night after all if they're just going to sleep through it.
It was pointless.
She sighed and looked at the stars that were against the wall and illuminating her bedroom.
She put them in there with her own magic because everytime she saw them, she felt peace and relaxation.
A single tear ran across her cheek as she thought about how lonely she really was.
She walked towards her big and spaced out restroom and looked at the golden mirror that she had.
Luna stared at her reflection in the mirror.
She stared at her eyes.
Her beautiful blue eyes.
Those eyes of hers wanted to see her "loyal" subjects laughing, playing, and enjoying her night.
Nights that she worked so hard on by putting bright stars and fascinating constellations, just to see smiles on their pretty little faces.
Especially the moon.
Her shiny and brilliant moon.
But what's the point of all of this if they never saw it?
They only slept through it.
Her sister received so much better attention than her.
At the thought of her sister, she felt a pang of jealousy come to her.
Tia Celestia.
The ruler of the sun and the keeper of many hearts.
And her beautiful older sister.
Oh, how she longed to be in her position.
She was adored and worshiped by many ponies, and most of all, they enjoyed the sunny days that she gave them.
The laughed and played in her light, clearly forgetting that they had a night.
Ever since Starswirl the bearded, a dear friend of hers, put her in charge of the sun, Tia was the one who received
attention. She loved making ponies turn their heads just to see her lovely looking self.
She wouldn't get the same treatment because she was in charge of the night, something that wasn't that important to those ponies.
But what did dear Tia do about it?
Did she comfort or love her as a older sister would do?
" YOU DO NOTHING!!!" she roared out and with a punch with her bare hoof, she broke the mirror in front of her.
She backed away from the sharp little pieces and looked at her reflection.
Her face was disoriented and broken down into a bunch of eyes and mouths.
She winced in pain as she saw that she had a big piece of glass stuck deep in her left hoof.
With her good hoof, she slowly took it off and a whole river of red blood beagan to pour out from the wound.
She only stared at the red liquid ooze out and decided to end the messy mess.
With her long tongue she stared licking the juice and enjoying it as she did so.
She finished her dirty job and then stared off in space...
Then she smiled.
A creepy and mad smile that showed a bunch of blood-stained teeth.
Who did her sister think she was?
A weak fool that couldn't help herself?
She chuckled at the silly idea. She certainly was stronger than her.
The pony that had to depend on other ponies to do stuff for her.
She started pacing around the dim lighten restroom and started thinking...
She perked up in excitement as she thought of something....
She now had a brilliant and wonderful plan.
A plan that will make thousands and millions of ponies across Equestria enjoy her night, just like they did with her dumb sister's daylight.
She was not going to let her dear and older sister boss her around anymore.
She's gonna be in charge from this day and foward.
She went back to the broken-down mirror and looked at herself again.
She saw her once large pupils now thin, as those of a cat.
The color of her eyes was now dark blue, not light.
She thought that her eyes were now beautiful and not ugly like before.
Well, in her opinion.
She stared pacing around the room again, now with a different state of mind.
Her eyes and legs started twitching but she didn't mind.
"Oh, dear sister of mine. I am sorry." she said sarcastically while rolling her eyes.
She noticed that her voice was much deeper and royal than her other sorry voice.
And she felt herself grow taller like she went through a growth spurt or something...
But again, she didn't mind.
Truly, she wasn't sorry. In fact, she was happy that she's gonna overthrow her sister and make ponies bow and worship her now that she had an "evil" plan.
Then she started laughing.
Laughing so maniacally, that she made the room shake and make echoes.
For the third time, she went to see her reflection again.
Her coat was darker, so black that it wasn't blue anymore.
She also saw that her mane was more starrier and shinier than before.
And her teeth were as sharp as those of a timberwolf's or a vampire's.
But for the third time this night, she didn't mind one bit.
"Hehe, heh, hehe... dear little ponies" she started saying to nopony in particular" you didn't know who did you all mess with. For I am your ruler now, and that stupid, weak, and pathetic princess of yours shall be gone forever and ever... And the night shall last for all of eternity!!!
She boomed with crazed laughter, because soon it shall be her precious victory.
And there was no more sweet Luna, only vicious Nightmare Moon...
