//-------------------------------------------------------// Laguna Scion -by Kyo Wright- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// The Strange Ruin //-------------------------------------------------------// The Strange Ruin Deep in a jungle covered in monsters lays a ruin with many treasures, the only downside is that you'll have to traverse it on your own, that didn't sound any bad to the foolhardy Kyo Kenji, a freelance mercenary for hire, a bit of a daredevil but he gets the job done! The boy in question being a light blue, straightly spiked to shoulder length hair, brown cat ears and beautiful green eyes, a bit of a feminine build with him being scrawny and slim, but looks can be deceiving as he can hold things 5 times his weight with no problems. Kyo is wearing a sage-green long-sleeved cotton shirt with a light blue shirt underneath the cotton shirt, sage green pants and black boots with black socks just surrounding his ankles, on his neck lays a red pendant with a purple cut stone in the middle, amethyst, Kyo's birthstone. On his waist held a sheathe of an Uchigatana blade, on his right hand was of the named blade just resting in his hand in which he dubbed: "Tarumani, The Blade of the Holy One." Kyo doesn't find himself to be holy, he just like naming things, pretty absurdly, but he loved doing it nonetheless, it made his colleagues laugh when he named his pendant "Lucil", the name of his late mother, what assholes. Kyo always worked alone, but he never mocked the idea of working in a team, he just find it (begrudgingly) better in plenty of ways other than the constant loneliness, but he's not totally alone, he's always got monsters to have fun with, "Hyah!" a shout was heard alongside the sound of slicing through tainted flesh. Youtube Video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rlMUOb8kdzM) Monsters varied into multiple dark beings, wolves with dried blood on their claws and teeth, skeletons with blades and shields and surrounding in heavy armour, alongside some insects like beetles and over-sized cockroaches. He was there, fighting monsters in an opening where he had plenty of space to fight his surrounding foes, Kyo sliced through the barrage of enemies with relative ease of his reflex and agility, he jumped through the air and slashes at one of the heavy armour enemies with a vertical slice, the blade went straight through the enemy as it evaporates into dark clouds and fade into the air. Kyo pays his attention to the next barrage of enemies, doing midsection slices and over-uppercuts to the chins of wolves, knocking them unconscious, he didn't like the idea of killing animals, even if they wanted to tear him into shreds, he respected the idea of animals wanting to eat to survive, so did he, while he was an omnivore, he had great delights on fruits and vegetables, and freshly baked bread, but his most treasured food group is seafood, Tuna specifically. Just thinking about food makes the boy hungry, but sadly he lost his backpack while it was stolen by some unknown creature, in fact, that's why he's in this jungle right now, to get his backpack back from inside the ruins and that strange dragon-alien-thing! Whatever it was had some chaotic intentions, but he wasn't able to give up without a fight! "Grah!" he cries out as he slashes through the last of the insects, it was down to him and the final soldier with a giant claymore, this one was the captain of the spooky scary skeleton squad... hehe... Kyo did something really strange that was unexpected by the young boy, he sheathes his blade back into it's scabbard, waiting for the monster to attack, he even lifts his arms up and taunts the skeleton. "Come on, hit me! I'm getting REALLY bored here!" he exclaims, causing the skeleton to speed run at the boy, to which he didn't expect, but he went along with it anyways, he used this momentum as a weapon and puts his hands over the sheath and handle ready to strike! And when the skeleton lifts his blade up, big mistake. "Tsuyan!" he shouts as he appeared behind the skeleton with his blade drawn like he finished a slice. The skeleton froze, but Kyo stood up straight and flips the blade and re-sheathes it. "Way to the Dawn..." he silently mentions as the final click of the blade locks into the sheath, causing the skeleton to fall down in two pieces, destroying the skeleton. "Hmph..." the proud boy scoffs as he looks over the dead and unconscious carcasses of the enemies he pummeled, granted he had a few scratches here and there, but it was nothing to fret about, he could deal with a few cuts and bruises. [The Song Ends Here!] Kyo walks off to continue onto the ruins in shape like a pyramid where it stood in front of him, practically inviting him, speaking to him, telling him to take the treasure and gain some more wealth and settle down with a family somewhere peaceful and have lots of healthy children-- Whoa, where did THAT image come from? Eh, no matter, it's not of big importance, but it's surely concerning... He looks over at the ruin once more to see the same creature that stole his bag just waiting for him, laying in the sun with a glass of chocolate milk in one hand and an umbrella in one, this sort of scene kinda makes a boy confused and somewhat intrigued, he holds his blade's handle with two hands, slowly walking up to the creature to deliver a surprising blow, to which the creature took note, clenching his fist-claw?.. Into a ball and resting his cheek on said claw, obviously looking bored. "You know, that isn't a proper way to greet somepony." said the creature, shocking Kyo with it's masculine voice. "Wh-Whoa! You can talk!? And... Some-pony? Wha--?" replied a very shocked Kyo, the strange creature just laughed. "My, you're surely an interesting one." mocked the unimpressed lizard-goat thing. "I wished for a challenge, not a weakling!" The weird freak of nature mocked as he looked over at the now angry neko boy. "TAKE THAT BACK!" he shouts as he ran and did a vertical jump slash. "Hya!" he shouts, but the impact never came, instead, he was surrounded in a bubble, causing the brave boy into a cowardly one. "Whoa-, h-h-hey! PUT ME DOWN!" The entity laughs as he saw this. "My, for a feline half-breed, you surely hate heights... How disappointing." He clicks his fingers-talons? And in an instance, Kyo's enchanted equipment was taken from his body minus the blade and clothes. "Wh-WHA!?" shouts Kyo, feeling his body was incredibly lighter and his sword heavier, it drops, but he manages to grab it with two hands to properly wield it, but to add salt onto the wounds, this mysterious and malevolent entity chipped and broke the blade, leaving it much shorter and practically useless to the boy. "WHAT ARE YOU?!" the boy shouts in agonizing anger and confusion. "A Draconequus, my dear human." he said with a devilish smirk. "Oh, alright... I'll bite, it's Discord, ruler of chaos!" Kyo couldn't believe his fuzzy cat ears, THE ruler of chaos? A God? An Ethereal Entity?! This cannot be real, this had to be a dream, but sadly he was not in one, in fact, you could say it was a relatively real nightmare. Discord laughed as he threw Kyo into a tree, breaking the bubble and releasing him from the shackles, freeing him from the bubble, but still held in Discord's iron-like grip. "Well, my boy... You're going to have one heck of a party!" both he and Kyo was flown into ruined and dark pyramid, but Discord was sucked in willingly disappearing, but Kyo was thrown to the middle of the room, there was sand on the ground and the air felt dark and chilling, his broken blade still held in his hand, since it was broken and it's enchantments were completely removed, it was lighter and can be held with one hand again, but that left the boy defenseless. Kyo got up and shook the sand out of his hair, patting his head to get the excess sand from his bangs. "Agh.. Things cannot get any worse..." he said to himself silently, but as he looked up, he noticed something was off, there was a painting of discord, a life-like picture with him putting thumbs on his ears and blowing a raspberry at the viewer. "Tasteless, bland and tasteless.." he said as he got up and dusts himself. While doing so, he heard growling coming from behind him, it was extremely unnerving, turning around to see what was causing the growling, he saw three wolves, but not really wolves, they were made of wood, oak wolves? ... Timber wolves? Really?! What a horrible pun... Kyo got ready to defend himself, but he forgot, his blade was destroyed, so it would be tough and since he has no enchantments and no magic, he's in hot water, he's gonna have to rely on his running, Kyo took a sharp left and ran for it, this was proving to be fruitless as the wolves surrounded him in a really quick flash. Kyo realized this was useless and stopped, Kyo turned, looking around him there was 3 wolves that was circling him. This was it, this is how it was gonna end... But, Kyo wasn't likely to give up without a fight, so if he were to die here, he may as well take a few with him. "Alright, mutts, bring it!" he shouts as he leaped and slashed a wolf, like expected it did minimal damage. "Shit..." Kyo cursed softly under his breath as he jumps back, this gave the wolves upper paw as they chomped Kyo from opposite sides, neck, leg and shoulder, warm crimson fluids were trickling down all of the bite wounds, Kyo managed to elbow one of them and fling it off of him, Kyo kicked the other off and threw the other off of his arm. All of them were off, but Kyo was weakened, he collapsed and landed on his knee, his legs were shaking uncontrollably and he was bleeding from his neck, left arm and right leg, it was over, they won. Kyo was almost ready to accept his fate, if he had his blade still in one piece, he'd be able to take them all on, but since it didn't do a thing, he was completely defenseless, a baby kitten in the land of harsh predators. "Well... I... Guess I couldn't... take at least one of em.." he said as one of the wolves jumped and pounced on Kyo and swiped it's claw on his chest and another to his face, knocking him clean out, whether it was actually the blow or the blood loss was left up to debate. All the was heard from his subconscious was a laugh, a loud and mocking laugh that one child or even many can easily have nightmares over... Kyo was finished, he couldn't survive for long, but for some reason, the pain stopped, in fact, all he could feel was the soft grass and earth behind the grass, birds chirping and heavenly beautiful nature... He never felt such smooth and clean grass in such a long time... It was, heavenly... Nostalgic... And even a little frightening... Kyo opened his eyes, the first thing he saw was a setting sun... Or, was it a rising sun? At this point, he couldn't tell, he may have been out of it for days and he would of been none the wiser, he felt the smooth and clean grass underneath him still, and despite his injuries, he can still move. 'Heaven... Or Hell?' Kyo thought as he tried to get up, but as he did, he fell back onto the ground, grunting in agonizing pain, feeling the adrenaline from his blood pumping, he tried again, succeeding this time as he pants heavily, 'Jeez, just getting up is a chore with these injuries.' Kyo thought again as he took in the scenery, a beautiful golden garden with many flowers with a sun-shape, a tree that held apples, a forbidden fruit, but now-a-days you get apples anywhere. 'This has to be Heaven, this place is like a Garden of Eden...' Kyo thought again as he got up, but doing so he heard voices. "It came from over here!" alongside sounds of clanking metal and equipment. 'Oh good, I'm not the only one here.' thought Kyo once more as he waited for the arrival of the gatekeeper, not really, that was a joke. On the horizon was 4-5 dots, getting larger and larger, that's not the strangest part, these guys were on 4 legs! And the closer they came it turns out they were of Equine breeds with armour and spears... Okay, this is getting weird. The closer they got, Kyo could see the shocked faces on each one of them as they came running towards him, it was his instinct to haul ass, but to honest, he thought they had owners, so he waited for more dots over the horizon... That never came, but instead, the armed horses pointed their spears at Kyo. "What are you?! Some kinda ape?!" one of them said, this horse had a white coat, blue-sort of wild mane and tail, he looked important, maybe a captain... But what REALLY stood into attention was. "Y-YOU CAN TALK?!" Kyo shouted, which made them jump. "It talks! It also has a weapon!" one of them said, which made them put the spears near Kyo's throat before he would try anything. Hah, like he would, he would never harm an animal, unless his life was desperately on the line. "Wh-Whoa, uh.. Okay." Kyo simply said as he just puts his hands up to surrender. "DON'T MOVE, APE!" the captain shouts to use intimidation, Kyo flinched a tad, but he froze in place like he asked, the captain looked at one of his men. "Tell Princess Celestia of a strange creature in her garden, tell her it's important.." The one he told saluted and ran off. The captain looked over at Kyo once more. "Okay, monkey, on your feet!" Kyo just looked at all of the armed equines who were looking both afraid and annoyed. "...Right, whatever.." Kyo said as he got up like they asked, standing a tiny bit over the captain's height, an inch at most. "Oh, I see, trying to act big..." Kyo shook his head. "No, I'm just bipedal... You aren't." Kyo quipped back sharply, but the captain proved him wrong by standing on his hind legs and whacking Kyo on the back of his head with the blunt end of his spear to prove a point. "ALRIGHT, ALRIGHT! Agh..." Kyo shouts in agony as he shuts his mouth. With three guards behind Kyo and the captain in front, they were leading him to a big castle, the captain held Kyo's broken blade with his magic, another thing that caught Kyo's attention was that the guards had horns on their heads, unicorns... Kyo caught by unicorns, as if he wasn't ridiculed enough... Kyo didn't mind the 'hospitality' that these fine stallions and possibly a mare were giving to the teenager, but the verbal abuse was a little bit much. "Can we stop with the monkey thing? I'm a human, or a neko if you want to be so super technical about it.." The captain scoffed. "Human, those are myths! You think you're a human, huh?" Kyo couldn't believe he was being scolded by a MYTHICAL creature. "Pfft, and you think you're a unicorn?" he quipped back, the guards growled but the captain gave a mild. "You never seen a unicorn before?" Kyo shook his head. "No, where I'm from they were myths, so if anything, we're on an impasse..." This actually made the forced lead to the castle much more easier with simple conversation, a single bit of words passed to each other, but it was a conversation none-the-less, PROGRESS. The injuries were not easily forgotten as Kyo collapsed on his knees, which made them uneasy and pointed their spears at him again. "Stand up!" Kyo was panting, sweating bullets, he was clearly uneasy what with the injuries and possible infection he got from said injuries. "...C..Can I just... Have one.. break? Please?" The captain forced Kyo up. "No, we're literally here." the captain said as he pointed at the castle gates, despite the look of peace, Kyo was intimidated to all hell. Kyo was lead into the halls as the doors opened, whatever Princess they had better be benevolent or his life is practically over, he may as well keel over now and get it over with, he should of just asked the guard to put a spear through his heart, that would work... The guard forced Kyo onto his knees, while it was a relief he can take a break, he didn't appreciate the forcefulness. "Oof!" he grunts and pants. "C..Can you take it easy, damn.." he said under his breath, looking up, he noticed a huge horse just sitting on the throne, looking Kyo over with a scrutinizing eye, like she never saw a species like Kyo before. The horse had a white fur body with a sun on her butt, a chest plate, or a big pendant, he couldn't tell... Long flowing diluted Pink, Green and Blue mane and tail and purple eyes, big wings and a long horn, despite her nature, she looked motherly and caring, and from the looks of it, her looks grew from patronizing to concern as she noticed the wounds. "What are you?" she asked the voice was smooth and angelic, somewhat... Calming. "A human." Kyo said bluntly and honestly. The princess looked a bit unconvinced. "The last of the humans died years ago, and you're telling me you're one of them?" Though as she said this, she did ponder over this. "Hmm, well, you do look like one, minus those ears..." she then gazed on the ears confused. "They aren't human ears..." Kyo shook his head. "That's cause I'm part feline, or if you want to be truly technical, I'm a neko, a breed of a human but of different traits and characteristics of a feline!" he said proudly despite him being in pain. The princess kept gazing at his ears. "I see.." Kyo smirked as he just simply twitched his cat ears, this caused the princess the blush and 'ahem's' her way out. "So, while not exactly human, you are definitely that of a strange one... How did you get into my garden?" This left Kyo puzzled. "Well, I just appeared there after meeting this weird lizard-goat creature after traveling... I don't remember his name, but he took everything I had minus my blade, left me fending off these wooden wolves and well... Left me there after I lost consciousness, I'm guessing... To be honest, your majesty, your guess is as good as mine." The princess' face had a look from confusion to anger in a split second before returning to a confused state. "Is that so... How peculiar..." Kyo noticed and blinked. 'That... Was pretty scary...' Kyo thought as he then noticed the princess walking from the throne and to Kyo, leaving him to speculate and flinch, closing his eyes and quivering in fear. But nothing came, except radiance, a warm glow coming from her. "You're not harmful... Far from it." Kyo opened his eyes as he noticed a loving and gentle smile on her face. "I am Princess Celestia, ruler of Equestria." Kyo had a shocked look on his face. "Y-You're not gonna hurt me?" Celestia shook her head. "No, of course not, as you're aware, you're too injured to cause any damage... And even if you did, you're not entirely inconspicuous, finding you wouldn't be that hard if you were to commit such deeds as hurting my little ponies." "Ponies." Kyo repeated as he looked down. "Well, my name is Kyo, and in that case, am I free to go?" Celestia's face went from a smile to a sheepish look. "Not quite, you see, since you're a new species of discovery, and most likely the only one... You must stay here for medical examination and questioning." Kyo didn't look so hot when she said that, but she had him at Medical Examination. "Count me in! Where do I sign!" he said happily, but was stopped with a pain in his chest. "Agh.." As he looked over the guards who seemed to back off, he noticed that Celestia was close, a bit too close. "Do not be hasty, save your energy, after the medical, I will have my trusted student and her friends to examine you and your species thoroughly." He didn't like the sound of it, but if it were to gain trust, he had to do it, with no other option, he nods one final time, this graces a smile from Celestia. "I am going to be honest, I would never thought you would co-operate... But I've been wrong, you seem pleasant enough... In fact, you seem very relaxed considering." 'Yeah, well I sure don't FEEL relaxed, lady...' Kyo thought in frustration, but he kept his cool to keep on the good side of things. "Well.." he looks at the guards who were practically sweating bullets, but then Kyo smiled. "Your guards did a magnificent job bringing me here, I can see why they protect you..." he said with a genuine smile and closes his eyes, Celestia was taken back by the sudden compliment of her guards, the guards themselves were just as surprised. "I... See..." she just says outright, blinking in confusion, but smiles. "Please escort Kyo to our medical facilities." The guards nod and Kyo gets up, a bit happy to have rested a bit, and with the request of Celestia to lower the security down to only one guard, and it was only the captain. "I'm surprised you said only positive things back there even when we were harsh on you." Kyo smiled as he waves it off. "Water under the bridge, Captain--" He interrupts. "Shining.." Kyo stopped talking for a sec to sink in this new info. "Shining, huh? Well, you know me..." Kyo said with a soft smile. Shining smiled. "You're not too bad, I guess... Say, what is that weapon you had anyways?" Kyo looked over at Shining. "A memento from a dear friend... But because of that guy, it's broken, and I doubt you guys know anything about Uchigatanas. He couldn't be any more right, Shining kept silent, feeling bad about this. "...Are you good at fighting?" Kyo gave a nod. "I'm awesome at fighting!" he said proudly, but Shining just smirked. "Hah, a scrawny twig like you? No way." Kyo smirked at the playful banter. "I'll show you in a better time... For now, I should focus on healing..." Shining agrees as they made it to the infirmary. "Oh, by the way, my sister and her friends will be studying you, so you better be on your good behaviour for her, or I WILL personally see to it that you'll get harsh treatment..." he said seriously to a shocked Kyo. "Uh, yes sir?" Shining smiled at that. "Very good... Her name is Twilight Sparkle, you'll know who she is once you look at her... And please, no funny business." Kyo looks at Shining with a displeased look. "Whats that supposed to mean?!" Shining laughed and goes into the room with Kyo, meeting the royal medical examiner. "A pleasure to meet you..." she said as she looked directly at them. "I am ze top medic of Canterlot." she said as she pulled on her rubber hoof-glove and snaps it back. Kyo let out a nervous chuckle as this is going to be difficult, annoyingly so...
