The story of Grim Wing

Grim Wing, unbelievably, was once a normal pegasi. He was respected among his fellow peers. Honored, a leader, and above all a genuine friend to everyone; he was there for everyone and everyone was there for him. All this held true until during his flight test when a rouge wind blew him off course breaking his right wing in the progress. Hurtling towards the Everfree forest at high speeds, no one was able to catch him. Search and Rescue teams rummaged through the Everfree forest, but to no avail.

What happened to Grim Wing you may ask? Well, according to legend, he was taken in by a unicorn who practiced magic of unspeakable horror. He healed Grim in exchange that he be one of his test subjects. These experiments caused Grim to transform from a brilliant pegasi to a bloodthirsty mongrel. To quench his thirst for blood, Grim went out to hunt the animals of the forest. One day when the unicorn wasn’t looking, Grim slaughtered the sorcerer and was finally freed of his captor. Since he was free, Grim went on more and more hunts farther and farther away from the formal sorcerer’s house. On his final hunt, he discovered a pegasi with a rainbow mane near a pond. Stunned to finally see another pegasi, he attempted to approach the mare, it was a bad move, he was knocked out in a single swift hoof to the face.

Later, Grim woke up strapped to a hospital bed. All attempts to loosen the straps failed so he waited for somepony to come. Luckly he didn’t have to wait long; a nurse who had a a coat as white as snow came in and scanned over him for a minute then screamed in horror at the sight. Grim was a mess with a gnarled mouth, crazed mane, and bloodstained coat. After the nurse regained her composure, Grim asked in a deep scratchy voice where the one with the rainbow mane may be? The nurse replied saying she was out doing her job as a weather pegasi.

Grim then asked if the nurse may fetch her with a reply of she will once her shift was over. The nurse left after tending to Grim’s wounds which were surprisingly healing fast, and Grim was left to just him and his thoughts. His thoughts drifted to that rainbow maned mare, he thought to himself if this chat goes well he’ll ask to chat again and maybe eventually ask her to a date. For the first time in years, Grim was starting to learn to feel again and to relearn what friendship is.

Waiting was not one of Grim’s best qualities; the rainbow mane was obviously taking her time getting here from her duty. The nurse had left what seemed to be hours ago and had forgotten to ask if he was hungry. The rainbow mane suddenly appeared crashing through the hospital window, nearly scaring the fur right off of Grim. Fear; Grim had forgotten this emotion from the years of being the top predator of the Everfree forest.

Having regained her footing, the rainbow mane asked, “What did you call me here for! I had just gotten off my shift kicking clouds, what could you possibly want you monster?”

Wincing from the power of her words, Grim said, “I called you here so maybe we could chat a little since we never got the chance.” Emotional pain was also something Grim had forgotten too.

“Well if you want to talk, first you should tell me your name so I don’t have to keep calling you monster.”

“How about you tell me your name first rainbow mane,” Suggested Grim.

“My name is Rainbow Dash! I’m the fastest flyer in Equestria, no one has ever beaten me in a race ever and no one will ever.”

“That’s a bold statement from someone who isn’t a wonderbolt.”

“Want me to hit you again or do you want to tell me your name?”

Frightened he couldn’t defend himself, Grim quickly replied, “I’ll tell you my name! I’ll tell you my name! It-Its Grim Wing.” Rainbow Dash smirked and trotted out of the room, closing the door behind her. Grim was left to just himself once again, as he laid there thinking about that Rainbow Dash a smile slowly creeped onto his face, not realizing it, the nurse was now standing in the room looking down at him. "Hello Grim, just gonna unstrap you from the table now, sorry for that." She said cheerfully as she leaned down over him and started undoing the straps one by one.

  "Thanks..Nurse." Grim sat up and hopped off the bed, "The showers are right down the hall, third door on the left". He trotted out the door and into the halls of the ponyville hospital, the showers were exactly where she had told him they would be, he pushed open the door and stepped into one of them, he looked at the nobs confused and shrugged, he reached out and twisted one of them, he was greeted with scolding how water "Aauugh!" Grim screamed and twisted the other one, cooling down the water, "Ah much better".
