Scales and Fangs

   One night, a couple of drestrals (Bat pony-dragon hybrid) foals were running around the house.   One was a green colt with blue spikes.  The other was a blue filly with a purple mane.  Suddenly, a purple dragon with green spikes walked in with a blue thestral (bat pony) mare with a grey and white mane with a yellow stars with a black star in the middle as her cutie mark.

"Midnight, Sparks, time for bed", said Spike

"C'mon, Dad.  Were not even tired", said Sparks

"Well, how about I tell you kids a story?", suggested Spike

"YAY", cheered the children

   Midnight and Sparks got ready for bed as Spike walked in.

"What story are you gonna tell us, Daddy?", asked Midnight

"How about Peter Pan?", suggested Spike

"No, we heard that one already", explained Sparks

"How about the story of Princess Kaguya?", suggested Spike

"No thanks", said Midnight

"Snow White?  Cinderella?  Little Red Ridding Hood?", suggested Spike

"No", said the twins in unison

"Then what story do you guys wanna hear?", asked Spike

"We wanna hear a story with romance", said Midnight

"And action", added Sparks

"And suspense", said the twins in unison

"Romance, action, and suspense?", asked Spike

"Yup", replied the twins in unison

"Then how about I tell you kids about how I met your mother?", asked Spike

   The twins thought about it for a moment.

"It does have romance in it", said Midnight

"But how does it have action and suspence?", asked Sparks

"Oh you'll see", said Spike "It all happened about ten years ago…"
