True Feelings
Load Full StoryRainbow Dash’s POV:
I-I can’t believe I’m actually going to do this today. I have no chance of things going as planned. I’m going to be rejected and I just know it. Why am I such an IDIOT? Why can’t I just keep my feelings to myself? Pinkamena Diane Pie, please don’t hate me.
I left town saying that I had to visit family that wasn’t in the state, and I saw Pinkie’s face when she realized I wouldn’t be there with her on her birthday. And the worst part about it was I wasn’t seeing family. I had to lie to her.
I closed my eyes and inhaled the already cold air, trying to calm myself down somewhat so I don’t look terrible when I see her again. After a whole month of being away from her. I ran my fingers through my short, rainbow dyed hair and sighed heavily. I felt like I was going to throw up. I raised a fist and knocked on the door to Pinkie Pie’s house, looking down at the ground directly after.
Pinkie Pie’s POV:
The day Dash told me she wouldn’t be here for my birthday broke my heart. The smile I gave her was completely forced and fake. I didn’t want her to feel bad about something that she couldn’t control. “Oh, that’s ok Dashie! I promise I’ll save you some cake!” After that I hugged her and went back inside my house, totally shattering right there and then. I broke out in a fit of sobs laid down on my bed where I stayed for a while.
It’s my birthday today. Yay! Not really...it isn’t the same without my Rainbow Dash next to me. But I decided that I couldn’t let one silly thing ruin my whole entire day, so I dressed in my poofiest and pinkest dress, with sparkles around the breast part. I looked in the mirror and adjusted the way my springy pink hair hung over my shoulders. Much better. That’s when I heard the knock.
I giggled and ran downstairs, swinging to door open to invite the guest in. But when I saw the figure standing there my smile dropped. Rainbow Dash.
Rainbow Dash’s POV:
My hands were shoved deep into the pocket of my skinny jeans and my jersey hung loosely on my thin figure. When the door opened I looked up. “H-Hey…” I gave Pinkie a nervous smile. “I-I am so sorry-” I wasn’t able to finish my sentence. The pink haired female pulled me into a tight hug and I responded by wrapping my arms around her. “I missed you so much!” I thought I heard her crying, and she might have been but it could have just been my imagination. “I missed you, too, Pinks.” She released me and I took a small step back, admiring what she was wearing. “I haven’t seen that dress ever, is it new?” She nodded and giggled. “Yep! Rarity made it special for me for my birthday! Isn’t it so cute and fun!” I let out a low chuckle and nodded. “It fits your personality perfectly.” She practically pulled me inside and I followed her in, noticing the trail of pink and silver glitter on the floor. We both caught up with each other and I decided that it was the right time to do this. No one else was here yet, it was perfect.
Pinkie Pie’s POV:
“Hey, I um...need to tell you something important…” I raised my eyebrow in slight confusion. “Yeah what is it, Dash? You can tell me anything.” I held my breath, it panicked me a bit. She said it was important. What if she was going to tell me she didn’t want to be my friend anymore? Or that she was moving? Or...I feel even worse...She got a boyfriend… “
“You know how I said I was going out of town to see family? Well, that is half true. I did go out of town but not to see family or anyone...I just...I just had to have some time to myself to think about things...And I’m glad I did. Because for once, I think I might have made the right choice. Pinkamena Diane Pie...every since the day we both met at the coffee shop...I felt something between us. Something that was strong and unexplainable. I thought I was just going crazy at first, but then I realized it. I-I think I-I…” She took a deep breath. “I think I love you…”
Rainbow Dash’s POV:
I stood up and looked down and Pinkie, sighing heavily. “S-sorry...I just felt like it was important you knew.” Then it happened. She stood up and grabbed my chin gently, mashing her lips up against mine. My eyes widened but then closed, gently kissing her back. Once she broke the kiss, I opened my eyes and gave her my classic crooked smile, my hands laid gently on her waist. “I love you, Dashie.” “I love you, too, Pinkie.”
Pinkie Pie's POV:
I can't believe it. This years birthday has been the best one yet. We told our friends, Rarity, Applejack, Twilight, and Fluttershy about Dashie and I, and they all seemed happy for us. But I couldn't help but notice how Fluttershy glared at me when we announced it. I hope she isn't jealous or something silly like that, because that would stink. Oh! And to get to more of the happy side, Dashie got me a cute heart necklace, Applejack offered to lend me more ingridients for baking sweets. Rarity's gift to me was the dress which I still love, and Fluttershy gave me an adorable pet alligator that I named Gummy. And Twilight gave me a few of her baking books that she said she would never use. But I would have been happy with no gifts, just the thought of all of my best friends spending my birthday with me was enough to please me and make me happy. Although I need to thank my Dashie, for surprising me with the best gift ever. I truly love you. <3
