Dash's Day Off

Flying thru the cold night air as Luna's moon lit up the skies above, Rainbow Dash felt a cold chill rise up her spine, not just from the sensation of the air but also the fear of how late she would be.

Earth time compared to Equestrian time was about a three hour difference, and she'd been caught up with Pinky's party for about an hour catching up with her friends even though she told herself she'd only be there for about 10 minutes.

Her saddlebag blowing in the wind, Rainbow Dash flew with haste to the edge of the Everfree forest, where there usually warn't too many royal guard patrols, especially at this time of night.

She wouldn't just need enough room to pick up the required speed to cross dimensions, but also needed to make sure that no obstacle would get in the way, of which there wasn't across the edge of the tree line.

The secret to this astonishing ability lied in Rainbow Dashes trademark stunt, The Sonic Rainboom, which as she found out, could temporarily merge dimensions together, creating a bridge to a New World. The human World.

Standing on the cold damp grass as leaves blow up around her, Dash took in her surroundings, making sure that nopony was around to witness the interdimensional crossing.

Digging her back hooves into the dirt, Rainbow Dash lowered her four hooves in front of her,
Dash’s face then took on a determined look as she cleared all her thoughts to focus her mind on the task at hoof.

"Okay Rainbow Dash, it's time to show this world and all the other universes what you can do, this is why you're here, this is what you were born for!"

She told herself just before all time started to stand still around her, the roots of the very blades of grass slowed to a crawl, tearing from the ground as she took off in a blaze of spectrum colored light, her mane and tail blown straight back as the dashing Pegasus hit Mack two then three reaching mach 4 as the skin on her face quivered and tears shot back out of her eyes, it was just above this speed at the supersonic level, that the Sonic Rainboom could be achieved.

But to cross into the fourth dimension of the earth, she needed to go slightly beyond this speed.

Feeling the familiar sensation of the electricity buzzing around her as the sonic rainboom built up, Rainbow Dash knew she needed to suppress it, not only to not attract attention to her, but also to focus all of her energy into the cross dimensional world jump.

Feeling the fabric of space time itself starting to split, she then focused her mind on the place and destination of where she would appear in the other world, not only visualizing the part of the country she needed to go to, but also with the street looked like, the interior of the house, and the man she loves so dearly who was waiting for her all realized themselves into her mind like a rush of pure adrenaline.

She then felt another static electricity sensation, but this time noticeably colder air that was with it, feeling generous sized snowflakes hit her nose and face. "It's not snowing in Ponyvile, I must be on earth!" She thought.

Rainbow Dash now filled with content with having successfully crossed into our world, she saw in the distance a fiery orange sun that had broken thru the clouds and was just about to set, "It's still early, maybe I'm not that late after all." the Pegasus thought as she flew down through the atmosphere, seeing that she had appeared a few miles above her destination.

Hovering to the ground behind the house, Dash gently flapped her wings, trying not to attract any attention nor kick up any fur chillingly cold snow.

The Pegasus's tail flicked off some snow that had gathered on it while her big violet eyes focused on the center of the colorful spikes of her rainbow hair, blowing up with her lips to get rid of any snow that had gathered on her head.

Trotting through the deep snow, she peered through one of the frost covered square windows on the back door of the home, searching for any movement inside, the warm glow from the fireplace illuminating her cyan fur through the window as the Pegasus gazed.

Reaching a hoof up to knock gently above the silver doorknob, she heard faint footsteps slowly growing louder as a bipedal figure approached consumed in darkness, slowly coming into view as the glow from the fireplace illuminated your features.

When you had noticed who was peering in through the lower window, you raced to the door, unlocking the deadbolt and knob lock with great haste.

As you opened the door a great chill blew through the home, unable to speak due to the sound of the wind, you silently gesture Rainbow Dash to enter, promptly closing the door, soon after getting embraced tightly by the Pegasus, causing you to be pushed back into the door that had just been closed.

The slightly damp snow covered fur of her cyan coat soaked your T-shirt through as she was hugging you, moving her face up slowly to your neck, giving you gentle licks and kisses until she reached your lips merging them with hers, now pressing forcefully and passionately as you return the kiss with just as much gusto. Running your hands through her wet rainbow hair the entire time then running them all down her soft spectral mane.

After what seemed like an eternity frozen in time, Rainbow Dash breaks the kiss, resting her forehead against yours.

"Its so good to see you again Dashie, I missed you so much!."

"I missed you too, um, this is gonna sound really corny but, you're all I've been thinking about these past few weeks about while I was performing with the Wonderbolts."

"Well, you must've read my mind, because you're all I've been thinking about also.

She then just smiled with contentment, gazing at you with those big siris eyes saying.

"I take it back, THAT WAS CORNY..."

"Maybe, but you still liked it"

"Yeah I'll admit I did." She then kissed you on the lips yet again, breaking contact to say.

"Sorry if I'm late, I got caught up at one of Pinkies parties and... “ya know how that pony is.”

"No it's alright, you're not late. "In fact, you're just in time!."

"Oh really, what have you been planning?" Rainbow Dash asked raising an eyebrow with a cavalier look.

"You'll see, but for right now we got to get you warmed up!" You replied. Feeling just how cold Dashies fur had become from the unforgiving blizzard outside.

Just then you hear a buzzer go off from the door adjacent to the living room, remembering that you had a load of sheets with a particularly soft fleece blanket that had been drying.

Rainbow Dash still in your arms you begin walking over to the couch, gently undoing the straps around the saddlebag she'd been wearing, preceding to take it off her back and rest it alongside the couch that you just had laid her on.

Free of the restrictive garment she just lays there, smiling at you contently,
her eyes only Half open, clearly tired from the days events.

"I think I have just the thing to warm you up, I'll be right back, okay? "Kay." she elicits back in the cutest voice you've ever heard.

Returning with a hot and fresh from the dryer navy blue fleece blanket, you approach the couch and drape it over her, causing Dash to vocalize a loud "ughhhh" You then proceed tuck the warm throw blanket in around her, making sure that not one inch is exposed to the cool air of the room,

The Pegasus now snuggled tightly in the soft blanket, you ask.

"So, feel warmer now?"

"Oooh yeah, this is sooo awesome!"

"Well now, don't get too excited under there, I did just wash that blanket after all."

"Oh, very funny... and why exactly was this blanket is in the laundry to begin with? Dash says, feeling around for stains.

"Umm, "no comment"

"That's what I thought, now get over here and sit next to me, "I want to show you something."

"Huh, do you mean something?, or "someTHANG!"

Rainbows then signing and rolling her eyes back says

"Just get over here"

As you approach, Rainbow Dash motions you to look at the dark tan saddlebag by the couch, you then proceed to undo the two snaps on the large pocket on the bag and take out a small cylindrical camera, noticing an HDMI port on the side of the device, you take out a spare HDMI cable you had kept in a cabinet beneath the large flat screen TV and connect the two devices together, returning to a now much warmer and much excited Rainbow Dash, who was anticipating you watching the footage she had captured.

As you sit back down the couch you notice Dash has taken the fleece blanket half off, enabling her to extend a hoof around you while also unfurling a wing to embraced you, further pulling herself closer to your side and resting her head on your shoulder.

Is the footage begins to play you first only see darkness while hearing the muffled sound of what had to be thousands of ponies screaming Wonderbolts! Wonderbolts!

Just then, a blinding light appears as a door opens, a spectrum mane at the bottom of the screen begins to wipe back with force, as Rainbow Dash flies out into the blinding light.
The camera then adjusting to light, you then see on the video, a long row of tall coliseum like stadium seats with a sea if now roaring Wonderbolts fans.

As Rainbow Dash flys down the long sky track, she turns her head to the left and then right, seeing glimpses of Spitfire along with Soarin flying right next to her in perfect sync, the angle of the video then sharply changes into an upwards angle as the three Wonderbolts perform loops and dives that make you feel queasy just watching them on the screen.

This particular Wonderbolt show had been specifically a stunt show, and not a competitive one like others on the tour, featuring more various aerial obstacles and flight endurance tests for the Wonderbolts to show off just how incredibly skilled they were.

You continue to watch the POV video from Dashes perspective as your eyes begin to water, while Rainbow Dash, sitting next to you has a large grin on her face, clearly enjoying your reaction.

The stunt show now over, the video abruptly changes to the muffled sound of electronic music and the fluorescent purple and green lit hallways of the DJ Pon 3 club.

The camera still viewing Rainbow Dashes point of view, you watch as a hoof opens a dark red doorway, revealing multicolored strobe lights flashing intensely as hundreds of ponies move on the large dance floor to a loud EDM beat, then hearing the sound of wings being opened as Rainbow Dash flies over the hundreds of club goers and let's herself be known to the whole nightclub, fastly swooping down to the middle of the raving colts and fillies.

The camera has trouble focusing as it sees the hundreds of enthusiastic faces of the ponies moving to the rhythm of the music, furiously jump cutting between Rainbow Dash dancing, signing autographs, and more dancing, all in a fury of bright flashing colors, after of which the video cuts off, fading to black.
