Octavia awoke and she immediately looked over at her alarm clock. She groaned as she realized that it read 6:30 A.M.; she had woken up one hour earlier than she had planned. Admitting to herself that she would not be getting anymore sleep, she decided to get up and start her daily routine. She walked over to her mirror and immediately noticed her charcoal black mane was a mess. She grabbed her brush and began to work on her mane, and while she was doing this she looked at her eyes. She had often been told that her purple eyes were lovely. She soon finished brushing her mane until it was as perfect as ever, and then walked out into the hallway and over to her roommate's door.

Just before knocking, she saw a note taped to the door.

It read, “Hey Tavi I had to run out! I’ll be back around lunch see ya later! luv, Vinyl”

Octavia frowned slightly, because 1) she hated being called Tavi, and  2) Vinyl never got up before her and wondered what could possibly be important enough to get Vinyl up this early.

Since there was nothing she could do about it until lunch, she decided to go down to the kitchen and make some breakfast.

As she entered the kitchen she noticed that someone had already made something for her to eat. How unusual this was... Next to a stack of waffles was another note.

“Hey Tavi, me again! I thought since you usually wake me up with breakfast that I owed you one so I made some waffles before I left enjoy! luv, Vinyl”

Octavia was surprised, considering this was very unlike Vinyl. She thought to herself, “Well I had better enjoy this while I can. I wonder what Vinyl could possibly be up to…” After Octavia finished her delicious breakfast, she walked over to the TV and tuned it to the weather channel, EquineWeatherDaily. She smiled when she saw who was broadcasting; it was Sunny Days, the newest weather pony in Ponyville.

“And there will be a lovely meteor shower this Sunday night, so all the couples out there had better be ready!”

Sunny Days had obviously just wrapped up the weather, but Octavia smiled and spoke to herself, “A meteor shower? Well that should be very lovely.”

She would have to stay up to see it, since she didn't have any other plans tomorrow night.

“Well how about some practice...” Octavia said to herself.

After a few hours of practicing with her cello, Octavia finished her latest song and was looking forward to playing her masterpiece in front of a large audience, for all to hear. She realized it was almost time for lunch as her clock chimed at noon.

"Well, I guess Vinyl will be home soon. Maybe I'll go make some lunch for the two of us." Octavia said.
