Discord, and Roy's trials
"Thanks Pinkie I have been trying to find someone to turn this into an outfit for me, but Rarity wouldn't touch it, and all the other outfit designers didn't want anything to do with it either." I tell Pinkie as I step out of Sugarcube Corner.
"Well if you need anything else just come on by. Sugarcube Corner is always open for friends." Pinkie says as I make my way down the street back to the edge of Ponyville.
I hang the outfit backup onto the coat hanger as I walk back into my home. I leave it there as I head back outside to open my mailbox to find plenty of orders for advanced tech parts. I forget once more that my front legs are out of commission for about forever since Discord took them to the grave with him so instead of standing straight up as I touch back onto the ground. My face falls into the mailbox as my front legs fall downwards since they are unable to support my entire bodies wait. I flap my wings to get back up off the ground. I use my magic to remove the mailbox from my face, and head over to my forge with all the orders. I bring the costume made out of Discord's skin along so I can wear it to see if it's the right size.
Discord's costume fits just fine, and pinkie also hollowed out his horn so my horn can fit inside the costume, and she also cut some parts off the back for my wings to stick out so I can move freely. I begin my work at the forge making big machines to work in factories, and just as I get the first few pieces of a big project done I head back over to a bench I have been at for a few days working on a weapon that would allow me to shoot small balls of metal.
The design of it was easy but getting it to actually work was the hard part, because I had to figure out how much power I needed to use it, and since gun powder was too dangerous I had to make it run off of unicorn magic.
I put in the finishing touches of this "gun" as I heard some of my customers call it as they came to pick up some parts of the machine they needed. I load the gun with a small plastic case called a mag, and when it's ready to fire. I shoot it at the ground. My magic fizzes wildly, and I shoot one of my front legs instead. I expect to see blood oozing out of the wound, but nothing came out of it except the small metal ball that penetrated my leg. Why did my magic fizz up? Probably just another one of those moments where my magic has trouble doing something, because I have been using it too much.
I put down the gun, and fill up a large pouch full of small metal balls, and mags to put the metal balls in so I can load the gun up multiple times if needed. I get back to work on the rest of the machine my customers needed.
They came just as I finished the rest of it, and the machine was so heavy it took five unicorns to carry it with magic. They pay a hefty price for the machine parts, and leave, and as they leave I feel something seeping into me a dark energy that was way too familiar. A feeling that I thought I had got rid of a long time ago, but I ignored what was supposed to be chaos, and just thought "Oh it's nothing just a bit of magical overload." I thought this, and went on to make another gun, and fill up another pouch full of mags that are filled with small metal balls.
At the end of the day I made a second gun in my spare time, and it was much easier since the design was basically the same as before. Except it was a bit different. I replaced firing power for extremely fast firing. I look at a clock through a window. The hands on the clock read nine-fifty seven pm.
I head back inside ready to turn in for the night until my entire body starts to flow with pain. I fall onto the ground as the pain starts to increase. I am laying, and writhing in pain on the ground with nopony around. I try to flap my wings to get back up, but my wings are paralyzed before I can get more than two flaps out of them. Before I tried to use magic I remember'd once that if I am feeling pain in a certain area of my body that contains most of my magical properties at my magic might explode in my face, and since i'm feeling pain all across my body so much that I can't move I am unable to do a thing except lay there, and to take the pain.
I laid in that same spot the entire night in pain, and somewhere near the evening or basically night during the next day is when I am finally able to get my wings to lift me off the ground. I hover over to the place I usually store Discord's skin costume, but when I try to remove it with magic I feel as if I am trying to rip myself apart. "Why hello Roy. Isn't it nice to hear you again." A voice in my head rings out As I feel another mind brush up against my own.
"Discord! I thought I killed you the last time we met." I speak aloud as if I were talking to myself.
"I was dead until you let all the chaos that was left inside my skin drain into you. So our minds are now bound to each other, and I suppose I have to be nice to you now since we can't separate." Discord's voice rings in my head again.
"No. This can't be happening to me. Not today. I had today scheduled for the iron stallion contest even if it has already passed I still don't want to my mind connected to yours." I say aloud once more.
"Oh too bad. Now you have my skin as a part of you now though. I guess I probably could teach you a few things about the power of chaos, and chaos energy. Couldn't I?" Discord rings out again.
"No you can't, because I am not about to spread chaos all across Equestria for you Discord." I tell him again trying to rip the costume off again with magic.
"I wouldn't do that if I were you, because if you are able to rip it off your whole body will be rendered useless without me. Now shall I teach you?" Discord says once more in my head.
"Fine you got me. I guess we can actually use this chaos energy as you call it to help Equestria." I talk to myself in my forge.
"Ok first things first. Imagine what you want for yourself, and then picture it in your paw, but if it's something sharp imagine the non-sharp part of it in your paw." Discord's voice rings in my head giving me instructions on how to use chaos energy.
"Wait my paw? Didn't I lose my front legs to you when I skinned you?" I ask Discord confused.
"Yes you did, but now that we are bound to each other you have my paws, and you can stand on your two back hooves forever, but you can still walk like a pony if you really want to." Discord says disgusted at the thought of walking like a pony. I lower myself from the air onto the ground, and as I place my front, and back hooves onto the ground I stand easily, but I still wobble a bit, because I haven't used my front legs for anything in a few years.
"I can't believe it. I have my front legs back." I say a bit bewildered at the time of joy of finally being able to walk again.
"Yes Roy now get on your back hooves, and try imaging a katana's hilt in your paw." Discord instructs me once more.
I imagine the hilt of the katana, and just as I imagine the hilt coming into contact with my paw I feel my paw close around something. I look down at my paw to find a long, and sharp katana ready to rip, and tear through flesh. "See you already got the hang of it Roy just remember to never imagine more than 5 things at a time if you don't heed my warning now you could end up hurting yourself." Discord tells me being nice for once.
"This feels weird. I have paws instead of hooves, and you are being nice to me." I say a bit stunned at everything that has happened this night.
"Now I suggest you go to bed. There is a lot of things to discuss tomorrow Roy." Discord instructs. Just as he says that I realize how tired I am from staying on the ground in pain for an entire night, and day. I get up into my bed, and turn out all the lights with magic. "One more thing Roy. You can also use chaos energy to handle more powerful kinds of magic." Discord instructs once more.
"Discord could you be quiet I am trying to sleep I have been in pain for an entire day, and night." I tell him closing my eyes. That entire night I hear nothing come from him except a low hum in the back of my head.
Discord, and Roy's trials
My eyes snap awake that morning, and I feel no control over my body, but I do feel Discord waiting for me to ask about this. "Discord what is going on my entire body is not obeying me." I ask him. I hear him sigh before he starts to speak.
"Roy this should have not happened today, but since it did I will have to explain what is going to happen." Discord says as his voice echoes through my skull. "You have no control over yourself, because you are feeling a chaos overdrive that should not have happened today, and since I apparently messed up my countdown for this, and you are not ready to harness it yet. You must let the chaos flow out of you, but those six mares will be called by Celestia to find the source, and stop it, and if i'm not wrong they will turn you to stone. Unless I get you out of here in time. So just let as much chaos flow out of you until you can take control of your body back from the chaos, but once we see those mares. We will have to do something to stop them from turning you to stone Roy. Got it?" After Discord explained everything to me I could feel the chaos seep out of me, and start transforming the land, and messing things up.
"So........ This is why they will come for me." I tell Discord.
"Yah it's not pretty, but you are gonna have to get use to it, because eventually you will be able to harness, and control when you have an overdrive happen, but right now you are still new to chaos, and have no experience. So I will just pack some of your for a bit of a trip." Discord says as I feel pain in my right side as if something was trying to rip apart from me. Once the pain is gone I stare at this pony that looks like Discord, but the pony is wearing the Discord skin costume I am currently wearing still.
"What the hell. Did you just do Discord." I ask him releasing chaos at a rapid rate.
"I can separate from your body for two hours. I discovered I can do this last night while you were sleeping. Just bare with me here. I will pack up the essentials." Discord picks up my pack, and leaves the room.
I hear the thump of wings, and the pounding of hooves thirty minutes later. Knowing who was coming, and I can tell how many ponies are here, and who they are. When I figured out who was here I began to panic. " SHIT! Discord hurry up. They are already here, and I am starting to get the feeling in my arms back." I hear Discord stumbling through the forge trying to get back as quickly as possible. The moment he reaches me he balls one of his paws into a fist, and hits me on the chest sending a large amount of chaos out of me. I push myself up with a paw, and bird claws.
The door open, and the first pony to peak in is Luna, and the look on her face killed me on the inside. She shut the door, and I could hear the voices outside, because all of them were extremely loud, and panicky. "Roy it's time to get out of here before they try, and turn you to stone." Discord says pushing me off the bed, and into the other room, but once the door opens, and the eight of them walk into the room I turn around to face them.
"Roy we trusted you with this. But I can't believe you would do this to Equestria. Everything is messed up with chaos now, and we were able to trace it back here, and you no longer have the right to call us sisters." Celestia says in a tone that would put most ponies in a life long depression,t but as they nod in agreement the elements of harmony start glowing from the six mares. I step back out of the room as the beam comes towards me.
A clawed hand pulls me back through a portal, and sinks into me. "You can thank me later Roy."Discord whispers into my ear before merging with me.
I slam down onto the cold hard ground, and spit out dirt. "Why does this shit always happen to me. Why the hell can I not have one happy year all to myself." My ranting is stopped with a note floating onto my face, and it read "Welcome. To Equin. " I throw the paper onto the ground in rage, and stomp on it with my hoove. "DAMN IT ALL. MY LIFE WAS PERFECT!" I scream into the air.
"Roy calm down before you attract unwanted attention." Discord echoes in my head.
"WHY THE BUCK SHOULD I LISTEN TO YOU!" Just as I yelled into the open air once more. A patrol of changelings spot me, and fly down towards me.
"We haven't seen an alicorn in a long while, and what kind of cutie mark is that. You also look like some kind of freak." The first changeling leading the group approaches me speaking quite fast, but I do catch a few bits, and pieces of what he says, and when he makes a motion the other changelings started to advance on me.
"Roy be careful. There is seven of them. Check in your pack I think I got one of your weapons in development." Discord's voice echoes through my head once more.
I check my pack, and find both my pistols fully loaded, and ready. The leading changeling kept advancing as I held my ground. "You are such a tough stallion to hold your position, and fight seven changelings. Either your brave or you are just a stallion that doesn't know when he has lost, and should just give up." As he speaks, and keeps advancing I take one of the pistols out, and point it in his direction.
"Maybe I know a few tricks to killing changelings like you, and your buddies over there" I say as I shoot his top left hoove, and as he screams I approach him while the other changelings back away. I have a dagger appear in my clawed hand through chaos, and insert it into the changelings head. "Now.... Does any of you feel lucky enough to fight me?" Right after I say that I make a dome around us so they can't escape. I make the dagger disappear, and I replace it with a double edged halberd.
I approach them while the second in command gives them a pep talk. Just as I get near. They all launch themselves at me, and that's when Discord separated from my body with a sword, and inserted it into the closest changelings stomach. I push all of them back with a shock wave of chaos. Discord, and I slowly make our way towards them menacingly, and just as I look around to see all the blood my bloodlust starts to become active. Discord looks at me a tad bit worried, but looks back towards the changelings to make sure they don't try anything.
When we get close enough I pick them all up off the ground with magic, and a smile of pure bloodlust creeps onto my face. I pressure them in all directions with gravity, and watching them squirm, and writhe in pain filled me with joy. When the first one exploded into a rain of blood Discord merged with me to make sure he doesn't catch any blood on himself. "Roy isn't this a bit overkill?" Discord asks as I ignore him while the rest of the changelings explode into a bloody rain.
"What are you, and where did you come from." The last changeling asked before he exploded just like the rest.
"Roy that was a bit brutal, and why are your eyes completely red. Unless you have some case of bloodlust then I don't get it." Discord says taking in our surroundings.
"Yes I have bloodlust Discord. I am not proud of it, but it keeps me alive at times." I tell him sitting down as the dome breaks apart until there is nothing left of it. "So Discord this is Equin?"
"Yes this is Equin Roy. Equin is the place I use to reside before you killed me. Oh. Dear. Roy your cutie mark has changed those changelings were right about it being weird, but it is a powerful sign." As Discord says this I check my flank to find a picture that means "Prince of Chaos, and Death."
"So this is who I truly am." I ask Discord.
"Well..... I guess since you merged with me you are now my successor as the prince of chaos, but I never knew about the death part. At the least your cutie mark should strike fear in most of your opponents here." Discord says with a happy cheer.
"What do you mean by "opponents" Discord." I ask him as I start to reshape the ground into a bed with chaos.
"Well Roy..... How do I put this.... Uuuum..... Ponies can't die in this dimension. All because of a pony named gears who started to make machines called regeneration stations. Since nopony can die many ponies have committed themselves to killing, and most ponies will just attack you without warning. Another thing. Your cutie mark is basically a sign of strength in this dimension. So a cutie mark like your's should strike fear into the hearts of most, and they should run away, but above all else your goal is to claim the throne of chaotic ruler over this dimension like I did before you killed me, and if i'm not mistaken that pony called Gears probably took the position of chaotic ruler in this dimensions Canterlot. So we are gonna have to get you familiar to chaos overdrives to have any chance." Discord says as I lay in the bed that keeps floating above the ground.
"You know Discord. I was just fine living my life in my forge, but now I am called back to the life of killing, and since we are one I guess I should reclaim the throne for you." I tell Discord as I slowly slip into sleep as the bed sinks into the ground to protect me from killers at night.
"Well Roy just make sure you don't die before we get to a regeneration station, because we need to sign your name up onto one." I grunt in acknowledgement of Discord before I fall asleep, and become trapped by the look in Luna's eyes for the rest of the night.
