"oh yes...the prisoner...I almost forgot about her...send her to the dogs..." IceQuill was playing in his room by himself when he heard his mother call for him, he thought it must be dinner time as he walked down the cloud stairs. "IceQuill dear," his mother said with a bit of agitation in her voice, "why did you go into Ponyville?!". "I-I heard s-something c-calling out to m-me m-mom," IceQuill said happily, "it was calling my name to come find it", "Find what exactly?" she questioned him, "I-I'm n-not sure m-mom, I c-couldn't f-find it". His mother seemed rather agitated by this as she walked back into the kitchen, IceQuill felt guilty and walked backed up to his room, but it wasn't agitating his mother that made him feel guilty, it was that he lied that triggered this emotion to stir inside him. He had found what was calling him, for when he bumped into a dark green stallion he felt like he had found something, he felt as if he had found something that would change his life. IceQuill pulled out his bag from under his bag and went through its components. He grabbed his small quill which he had crafted formed from his own wing feather, and a small note book, he then he went to work. This was his talent, of which would never be seen in any other mare or colt, he started to write, and as he wrote his entire essence was in the very writing, and  every single letter he wrote seemed to glow as if spectra was flowing through it. No pony would ever has his same love and passion for writting and this is how young IceQuill found his talent, his cutiemark was a quill writing upon a frozen scroll. IceQuill loved writing more then anything else, even more then the winter's snow, but IceQuill always felt that there was more then just this talent. The small pegasus kept a journal, this journal was filled with stories, poems, and drawings of all kind. IceQuill never let this journal out of his sight for it was easily one of his most valuable possessions. "Master, the Princesses have sent out word to warn ponies of us. What should we do?" "Hmm....so dear Celestia is trying to stop me....watch her carfully" IceQuill walked to the school building in Ponyville. He walked into the building and took his seat in the back of the class and looked around at all his classmates. One of them stood out in particular to him, another young pegasi with a red coat and a black mane. His name was Dez Vochoism, he was one of IceQuill's only friends, they had talked to eachother about all kinds of topics. One topic interested Dez more than anything else, becoming a royal guard. He always wanted to protect other's and stop evil. Little did IceQuill know that they would later cross paths at deadly risk. IceQuill wasn't the best flier, and when the day came to take his flight test, he failed. The instructors said that he couldn't preform well enough and that he is a disgrace  to all pegasi. Upon hearing this IceQuill's parents disowned the young pegasus, orphaning him and sending him out from Cloudsdale to live in Ponyville. IceQuill didn't show any kind of sadness throughout his days, but deep down he felt useless. All that the young pegasus had left was a saddlebag, his journal, an inkwell, and a cowl. IceQuill showed up to school every day acting as though nothing had happened, and everypony believed it, they saw nothing wrong with the grey pegasus in the back of the class drawing a house made out of clouds in his journal. IceQuill sat at his desk writing as usual when the teacher came into the classroom and announced cheerfully "Class today we are going on a field trip," she said happily, "to the Crystal Empire!" IceQuill looked up and upon hearing this he was filled with joy, he had always wanted to see the crystal empire. They all walked to the train and boarded the train, most of the other fillies were laughing and talking, but the small grey pegasus was sitting in his seat watching the land soar past him. When they reached the empire they all walked around looks at shops and buildings, the teacher called all of her students to come gather in the center of the empire, at the crystal heart. They all sat around it as the teacher explained the history of the Crystal Empire. IceQuill wasn't paying attention to her, he was focused on the glowing crystal heart. After talking the teacher ordered all of the fillies to come back to the train, IceQuill sighed and walked back to the train. The teacher was about to count all of the fillies but someone asked to go to the bathroom, so she took them to the bathroom, IceQuill saw his chance and slipped away from the class as they started boarding the train. IceQuill went back to the crystal heart and sat in front of it, his eyes glowed to it. The train started its journey back to Ponyville, the teacher called for a role call of everyone, when she called out for young IceQuill Degrees, there was no answer. The young grey pegasus was drawing the crystal heart in his journal, completely  ignoring the world around him. What he didn't see was the Princess Cadance was sitting right behind him, watching him draw, she tapped his shoulder quitely and when he turned around he was suprised to see the princess behind him. "whats your name little filly?" she asked politely, "M-my name i-is I-IceQuill" he stuttered, "Thats a beautiful drawing you have," she said, "why don't you come up to the castle and we can talk okay?" "Y-yes p-princess!". After the princess had left IceQuill just sat in front of crystal heart, his curiosity growed at the glowing gem. The young pegasus reached his hoof out at the crystal heart, and when he touched it and explosion of power erupted from the heart, sending the filly flying into a pillar from the castle. When he woke up he felt different, he felt like something changed, little did he know that his red mane now had a blue outline, and he eyes had changed from grey to a light blue almost as if they were ice. The filly walked back to the train stop as the train pulled in and his teacher ran out and hugged him, saying how worried she got and asking if he was okay. She didn't mention the physical changes that had happen to him as they went back to Ponyville. IceQuill wasn't stuttering when he spoke anymore, his voice became smooth, no longer quivering. He couldn't explain what had happened even if he tried, but he knew something big had happened. //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 3 - A Frozen Feather //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 3 - A Frozen Feather Frozen Heart Chapter 3 I know not of what I've become, its been a long time since the day I gained my gift. Lately I've come to miss my days with Cenia, I know that I can never change things back to how they were and honestly, I don't want to change things. After discovering what I can now do when charged, I can finally take back what's mine. After IceQuill had touched the crystal heart he was experiencing strange events, the cold no longer effected him, when he would swim the water would slowly begin to freeze around him. He was naturally afraid at first but over time he began to accept what had happened to him. IceQuill continued to go to school and he would do exceptionally well. One night when school had just ended, young IceQuill sat against a lamp post and began to write in his journal, he then looked up to see a smaller pink filly who was laying in the street, feeling sympathy towards her he walked over to her and tapped her shoulder gently. "Excuse me," IceQuill said, "where are your parents?" "I don't have any" she said quitely, "You look cold, lets go find you a warm place to rest" IceQuill said gently to her. The two then looked around Ponyville for her to rest, They then found a red barn, "This should be good". IceQuill led the young filly into the barn and pulled out a blanket of which he had received from a sympathetic traveler and ave it to the young filly to use. "What's your name by the way?" IceQuill asked, "My name is Cenia," she said quietly,"what's your name?" "My name is IceQuill, nice to meet you Cenia," IceQuill said politely, "get some rest you look tired." IceQuill and Cenia grew closer to each other, IceQuill treated her as if she was his little sister, he protected her, he kept her healthy, and in return she would keep him from losing all sense of morality. I've now learned that my old childhood friend, Dez, has finally joined the royal guard. It's a shame really, he could have became an excellent disciple for the guardians, now that I think of it he always was fond of sweet little Cenia. About a year after IceQuill and Cenia first met, IceQuill convinced her to attend school. Cenia was nervous when she first walked in but she stayed close to IceQuill to remind herself that there is no reason to be afraid. IceQuill introduced her to the teacher and she sat her a couple of seats away from him, he kept an eye on her to make sure she was ok, she was happy to meet new friends. She often talked in class and IceQuill kept on writing in his journal, she always wondered what he wrote in there, but he never let anypony even touch, much less look inside his journal. She wondered what secrets he wrote in there. Cenia had grown since they first met, her coat was now a light pink like that of cotton candy, and her mane was just a bit darker shade of pink with one dark strip in her mane. Cenia had looked up to IceQuill, she was fascinated by how calmly he took everything. Little did she know that why she slept IceQuill practiced his new found magic. He turned rivers into ice, he froze tree to the very core, he had become quite fond of this new power he possessed, and he continued to grow in strength and wisdom. Cenia had gone to stay at her friend's house one night, leaving IceQuill alone. He walked around Ponyville, gone on a relaxing flight, he didn't know what else to do. IceQuill decided to go see some of the shops in town, he was hoping to find a gift for Cenia. As he was about  to enter a toy store he heard a scream, IceQuill ran towards the source of the dreadful noise. What he found would change him, for this was when dear young IceQuill's mind began to break. He had found a pony, a unicorn, being torn apart piece by piece by what appeared to be a dog. Blood was along  the wall next to him, organs and what was left of the unicorn were scattered around him. The beast responsible for this turned around to face IceQuill, he wasn't prepared for what he was in front of him. IceQuill watched in horror as the monster stepped closer to him, closer, and soon IceQuill knew all to well what was in front of him. The monster was IceQuill himself. //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 1 - Born To The Snow //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 1 - Born To The Snow Frozen Heart A gentle snow is falling outside of the warm house, a couple is snuggled by the fire keeping each other warm and happy. Little did they know would their lives be changed forever. “Mom” the small filly called out to the light blue mare who was cleaning the dishes, “Yes IceQuill,”, she called out to her young child, “what do you need?” “Can I go play in the snow?” IceQuill asked, “Of course dear”. Few knew of our existence in this world. IceQuill slowly glided down to the world below the city made of clouds. He relished the feel of the wind going over his body and his wings, it was like nothing he has ever felt before, every pegasi knew this feeling. When IceQuill reached the bottom his hooves sunk into the cold snow, he loved the feeling of the cold snow, he loved cold, cold was good. He had said this many times, for it is in his very being that he loves cold, his mother had said to him his eyes are like that of ice, crystalline, bright, and cold. We have been waiting, our master, the Lord of Chaos, has kept us safe and now we must protect the one born on his day to return. IceQuill could always remember playing in the snow, it made him feel happy, but when ever he played with snow in the house his parents always got angry. But for now he was contempt with where he was, but something was making his ear twitch, some kind of noise coming from the town. Being the curious colt he is, he decided to go see what was happening, This was where he learned of his destiny. The dark green stallion walked through town looking left and right as he was searching for what his master had spoken of earlier. He had no idea what it was he was suppose to find but he would know what it was when he saw it, he searched the town for hours looking, searching for this important object of which he was tasked to find. “It can’t be this hard to find some bloody artifact” he muttered to himself, as he turned around a corner and a little colt ran into him, he had a light grey cot and a red mane the was outlined with a blue hue, “Sorry mister,” the colt said apologetically, “he walked around the dark green stallion and carried on. He knew not what the artifact was, but he knew who it was.
