“Sounds good to me,” Spike said with a chuckle as he let Dash go from his embrace. Ditzy Doo, commonly called Derpy by her friends and acquaintances, waved and smiled to Pinkie Pie as she left Sugar Cube Corner after getting her usual muffins this morning. As she went about her route, she munched on her assorted bag of muffins, provided by Pinkie who always had a knack for picking out the best muffins for her any given day. Wanting to let the flavor linger, she held off eating any of the others for the time being and went about her work. About a quarter of the way through her usual route, Derpy pulled another muffin out of her bag, noting that this one was a rich golden brown with a heady smelling top crusted with several different grains. This was a seven grain muffin flavored with cinnamon, clove and honey.
This one was one of her top favorites, although it came with a slightly embarrassing side effect later on in the day due to the huge amount of fiber in it. She didn't mind it so much because she knew it was good for her and always chided herself that she needed more fiber in her diet in any case, so with a little smile, she took a huge bite out of it. As she chewed, the smoky, slightly nutty flavor of fresh grains and spices danced across her tongue before making its way down her throat. That muffin didn't last half as long as the first one and left her filled up enough without her feeling stuffy that she decided to save the rest of her muffins for later.
After stowing her treats for later, she hurried on her way, when she should have taken her time. She delivered the wrong packages to five different places (which she eventually corrected), blundered into a bush that ended with her running through the streets as a family of irate squirrels attacked her in retaliation for destroying their home (later calmed down and chastised by Fluttershy who chided them for building their home in a bush when they should have known better in the first place) and sent Golden Harvest's stall careening across the market square into Applejack's when she stumbled into it (which was an accident waiting to happen anyway since Goldie forgot to put stops under the wheels of her stall).
So, all in all, a fairly average day for Derpy with less property damage than usual that partially wasn't even her fault. After she helped get everything sorted out and made her apologies, she reported back to the post office, turned in her messenger bag for the day and made her way back home just after noon. It was the height of summer, so the house was empty when she entered it (her daughter, Dinky having gone off to spend a month with her grandparents up in Vanhoover). With that done, she stood up and brought her panties back up to fit snugly against her delicates before turning around to flush, the murky waters of the bowl quickly vanishing without a single lingering trace as it was replaced by fresh water.
