The next day

"Temperature is a bit elevated, but not feverish yet." He placed the stethoscope on her back. "Please cough for me." Kiwi did as instructed. Dr. Stable's methodology might look cold and uncaring to some ponies, but underneath this mask of calculating professionalism lived the soul of a doctor who deeply cared about each of his subjects' well-being. "Lay down, please." Kiwi sat down on the examination table, then laid down on her side, guided by Doctor Stable's touch. He began prodding her stomach, trying to feel any turbulence inside Kiwi's stomach that could be evidence of a typical upset one. Lastly, he put his stethoscope there as well, listening for any unusual noises.
He pulled the stethoscope out of his ears and took a small step back, looking at Kiwi with one eyebrow raised in confusion.
"You seem perfectly fine to me, Kiwi. How long have you been having these bouts of stomach unrest again?"
She lifted herself up a bit to properly face the physician.
"About...two weeks, maybe?"
"Hm. I can't really prescribe you anything if you are not displaying any of the typical symptoms of a stomach flu, for example. Let me give you a magical exam. If that doesn't prove conclusive, we're going to have to take some samples for further analysis and do some scans. Would you be okay with that?"
"Uh, yeah, sure."
"Very well then."

"Doctor! What is wrong with me!"
The sudden impact on his table shook Doctor stable out of his stupor. He shook his head and cleared his throat.
"Nothing is wrong with you, Kiwi. Technically."
"What does that mean?"
"Kiwi, listen to me. There are two questions I must ask you right now. Number one: When were you here for your last renewal of your contraceptive barrier spell?"
"About two months ago. But why...?" Kiwi slumped down off the table, sitting down in one of the chairs in front of it.
"That's what your file says, too. It also says that during your last routine checkup, the barrier was still active."
"W-was?!" Kiwi's irises shrank to tiny picks. She felt lightheaded.
"Yeah, that's what I was getting at. When I just scanned you, the barrier spell was gone. I don't understand it! I cast it myself! I mean, in order to break such a barrier, you'd have to like, get your coltfriend to take an overdose of illegal fertility potions and then rut for hours, taking in liters of ejaculate until the barrier literally shatters under the pressure! What are the odds of that happening?!"

Her heart was racing, sweat forming on her skin as she tried to process what he was implying.
"Ahem." Doctor Stable shook his head before making a note in Kiwi's file. "I guess that confirms that theory then," he mulled to himself. He took a deep breath. "Kiwi, I did feel something different when I scanned you, though, which leads to my second question." He turned his head, opening a drawer with his magic and floating a small package out of to the table. It was a pregnancy test.
Kiwi gasped.
"Would you be so kind to go to the bathroom and do this test? Nurse Redheart can instruct you in its proper use if you don't know what to do. I must confirm my suspicion."
Her head began to feel light and heavy at the same time, as if someone had pumped out all of her blood and replaced it with lead. Her eyes stopped following her orders, swirling around before rolling up in her head. A low groan escaped her throat as she lost any resemblance of balance, falling over out of her chair as she passed out.
