A phonecall. It was 12:00 and she had just heard the phone ring. She answered. Before it even started she could tell it was pre-recorded. “ Hello, hello? Uh, I wanted to record a message for you to help you get settled in on your first night. Um, I actually worked in that office before you. I'm finishing up my last week now, as a matter of fact. So, I know it can be a bit overwhelming, but I'm here to tell you there's nothing to worry about. Uh, you'll do fine. So, let's just focus on getting you through your first week. Okay? Uh, let's see, first there's an introductory greeting from the company that I'm supposed to read. Uh, it's kind of a legal thing, you know. Um, "Welcome to Pinkie Fazpie's Pizza. A magical place for foals and adults alike, where fantasy and fun come to life. Fazpie Entertainment is not responsible for damage to property or pony. Upon discovering that damage or death has occurred, a missing pony report will be filed within 90 days, or as soon property and premises have been thoroughly cleaned and bleached, and the carpets have been replaced. "Blah blah blah, now that might sound bad, I know, but there's really nothing to worry about. Uh, the animatronic characters here do get a bit quirky at night, but do I blame them? No. If I were forced to sing those same stupid songs for twenty years and I never got a bath? I'd probably be a bit irritable at night too. So, remember, these characters hold a special place in the hearts of foals and we need to show them a little respect, right? Okay. So, just be aware, the characters do tend to wander a bit. Uh, they're left in some kind of free roaming mode at night. Uh...Something about their servos locking up if they get turned off for too long. Uh, they used to be allowed to walk around during the day too. But then there was The Bite of '87. Yeah. I-It's amazing that the pony body can live without the frontal lobe, you know? Uh, now concerning your safety, the only real risk to you as a night watchmare here, if any, is the fact that these characters, uh, if they happen to see you after hours probably won't recognize you as a pony. They'll p-most likely see you as a metal endoskeleton without its costume on. Now since that's against the rules here at Pinkie Fazpie's Pizza, they'll probably try to...forcefully stuff you inside a Pinkie Fazpie suit. Um, now, that wouldn't be so bad if the suits themselves weren't filled with crossbeams, wires, and animatronic devices, especially around the facial area. So, you could imagine how having your head forcefully pressed inside one of those could cause a bit of discomfort...and death. Uh, the only parts of you that would likely see the light of day again would be your eyeballs and teeth when they pop out the front of the mask, heh. Y-Yeah, they don't tell you these things when you sign up. But hey, first day should be a breeze. I'll chat with you tomorrow. Uh, check those cameras, and remember to close the doors only if absolutely necessary. Gotta conserve power. Alright, good night. " "Well, it's 1am so I better get to checking them cameras." Applejack pulled up the tablet with the cameras and checked the show stage. "Heh, this is gonna be a long night for me. I'm sure as heck glad I get to protect y'all though--now wait one minute here, is..." She was at a loss for words when she saw that the characters were animatronic versions of some of her friends. Pinkiepie ran the place, so she then realized that Pinkie was trying to be nice. Rainbowdash was there, and Fluttershy, and Pinkie herself. All in animatronic forms. She then realized when she looked back that Rainbowdash was gone. It was already 2am. The phone stallion said they wandered but Applejack didn't believe him. She checked the other cameras and found Rainbowdash staring up at the camera, eyes fixed on Applejacks, in the backstage area. She cut the camera back to the show stage, where everyone but Rainbowdash was. Then she heard footsteps outside the left hallway and checked outside, seeing that Rainbowdash was in the hallway staring directly at her at the perfect angle to make eye contact. She saw Rainbowdash start walking towards her and Applejack almost jumped back into her office, she landed one hoof on the door button and the door slammed down. Rainbowdash was staring in through the left window when she checked the lights. Rainbow dash said in a distorted, metalic voice, "D-d-don't you w-want to p-play with us, Applej-jack?" Applejack was stunned. How did the animatronic know her name? Then she realized something: she had not seen Rainbowdash Fluttershy or Pinkie, the real versions, since this place opened. She weakly said, "R-r-Rainbowdash?" Rainbowdash responded, "Y-yes Applejack? I-I came here t-to-o collect y-y-y-y-y-y-y-y-" Then Applejack checked her watch, it was 5:57. She was almost free! Then Rainbowdash bowed her head and walked off. "Where are y'all goin'?" Asked Applejack. No response. Then she looked at her watch again. 5:58, 5:59, 6:00! "YEEEHAW!" She screamed. She opened the door and walked off...
In a horrible state, Applejack was looking for a job. The new technology 'electronics' was everywhere and apples could just be processed. They were broke, so Applejack had just finished an interview to get a job as a night watchmare. Not suprisingly, she got the job. She found it in the news, Pinkie Fazpie's Pizzeria hiring, help wanted, blah blah blah. She had 4 hours until she had to leave to get to work, so she sat at home, playing on her IBreeze. She loved Angry Timberwolves. She didn't know why, she just did. Then a notification popped up:Work time. "Oh no, I better be gettin' ready for my first night! She put on her unifrom, grabbed her taser and flashlight, and drove to work in her old-fashioned carriage. She made it there at 11:45 and headed into her office just as the manager was leaving. On the left and right side of her office there were doors leading to long hallways and buttons saying 'Door' and 'Light.' "This ain't so bad now is it?" She thought out loud.
