Silver Spoon was excited for Diamond Tiara's birthday party in a couple of days. Normally, the party would be planned by Filthy Rich, but unfortunately, he was too busy swimming in a pool of his own money to bother with that.
So, Silver Spoon came up with a much better plan! She was going to plan a party for Diamond Tiara herself! And nopony will be able to stop her!
The problem is that Silver Spoon's special talent is getting things given to her. Because of this, she never had to work a day in her life. So, she comes up with a plan in order to plan a party without having to do any of the actual pesky planning. She decides to enlist Ponyville's residential party pony Pinkie Pie.
She was told the party would cost 5,000 bits, but that won't deter Silver Spoon from making sure this will be Diamond Tiara's best birthday ever!
So, Silver Spoon asks her parents for the money, which they easily give to her. It is her special talent after all. Once she paid Pinkie Pie for her services, they began the planning of Diamond Tiara's birthday party.
On the day before the party, Silver Spoon couldn't control her excitement about the party. They could do fun things like make fun of blank flanks or... well, that's pretty much all they do. After class, Silver Spoon had to leave Diamond Tiara to make sure the party would be perfect for somepony as gracious as its guest of honor. Of course, this would lessen her time bullying the Cutie Mark Crusaders with Diamond Tiara. Oh, well, it will all be worth it once Diamond Tiara expresses her gratitude for the party.
"I love it, Silver Spoon!" said Diamond Tiara.
It appears that Diamond Tiara enjoyed the party that Silver Spoon and Pinkie Pie put together. It had fun party games like Make Fun of the Blank Flank and... well, that was the only party game. But, at least it was a game that could be fun for hours.
Anyway, nothing could possibly ruin this day. In fact, it could only get better. The Cutie Mark Crusaders could appear at any moment for the bullying pleasure or, even better, they could meet Princess Twilight again. However, the sky starts to grow dark. Ponies all over the town start to panic as a shadow looms across Ponyville.
There, right in front of Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon, stood the wicked King Sombra. He laughed maniacally.
"Finally, I've made it into Ponyville, the home of the dragon who defeated me," said King Sombra. He yells out for Spike. "Show yourself, dragon, so I can murder you!"
"Um, excuse me, whoever you are," said Silver Spoon. "I understand that you want to settle some sort of dispute or something, but can you do it somewhere else? My friend is kind of having a birthday party right now."
"You dare talk to me that way, you filly?!" yells King Sombra. "Useless earth ponies like yourselves should be used for labor and nothing more! Now, get out of my way, before I dare waste my magic on you."
King Sombra knocks Silver Spoon out of his way.
"Who is he calling a useless earth pony?" says Diamond Tiara. "My daddy owns Barnyard Bargains and your family... does something. I don't really remember."
"It's not important right now, Diamond," says Silver Spoon. "Look!"
Dark crystals jut out of the ground all over Ponyville as the ponies all panic and scream. However, their screaming is cut short by a strange buzzing sound.
Queen Chrysalis is leading her army of changelings into Ponyville!
"This land is filled with so much love! My changelings and I could feed off of it all!"
"What in the crystals are you doing?" yelled King Sombra.
"My changelings and I are invading Equestria. What in Equestria are you doing?" answered Queen Chrysalis.
"I'm doing the same thing!" said King Sombra. "And I was here first, so you should leave now, and let the professional do his job!"
Suddenly, the dreaded Ahuizotl jumps right in between the feuding villains.
"Mwa ha ha ha ha! Neither one of you has the means necessary to take over Equestria!" Ahuizotl says as he holds up a stone statue in his tail hand. "Watch as I bring about thousands of years of pain and misery for all equines!"
"Yeah," mutters Queen Chrysalis. "Neither one of us has the means necessary to take over Equestria. It's not like I have an army and bad eyeliner over here has any powerful magic."
"Exactly," says King Sombra. "Hey! What do you mean bad eyeliner?"
Ahuizotl ignored Queen Chrysalis's comment as he smashed the stone statue onto the floor, causing a gaping hole to appear there. Out of the hole, the evil Lord Tirek arose from the fiery pits of Tartarus.
"I will steal all the magic in Equestria!" yells Lord Tirek, as he drains magic from unicorns, pegasi, and earth ponies.
"Um, excuse me!" yells Silver Spoon. "I know you want to drain ponies of their magic and all, but my friend and I are having a party and we would appreciate if you guys go somewhere else."
Lord Tirek laughed at this. He lifted both Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon and drained them of their magic as well as their cutie marks.
"Diamond Tiara! We've become blank flanks!"
"This has got to be the worst birthday ever..."
Silver Spoon looked down at the floor, dejected. Meanwhile, Queen Chrysalis's changeling army was attacking King Sombra, Ahuizotl, and Lord Tirek. Unfortunately, they weren't doing much to any of them. Lord Tirek started to drain the magic of the changelings.
"Got... to get... my magic back," says Silver Spoon. She started to close her eyes, but she quickly opened them and saw a vision of our Lord and Savior.
She saw none other than Deathnight Horseshoe himself.
"Deathnight Horseshoe! It's really you! Am I... dead?"
"You are not dead, my child," spoke Deathnight Horseshoe. "I am here to aid you in your quest to defeat Lord Tirek."
"But, how? He stole all of my earth pony magic as well as my cutie mark!"
"I will bestow my words of wisdom onto you, as well as a power that can be used to defeat Lord Tirek," said Deathnight Horseshoe. "After my untimely death at the hooves of King Sombra, I was hit with a sudden realization. Once I realized the ultimate truth, I had achieved nirvana. I have never felt so much peace in my inner soul."
"So, what is this truth?"
"That pony life is suffering, my dear little filly."
"How is that peaceful?"
"And pony suffering comes from an attachment to temporary material wealth."
"That's a bunch of horse apples."
"In order to heal ourselves of this suffering, we must take away our desire for these materials."
Silver Spoon groaned.
"In order to take away our desire for impermanent objects, we must have the right view, right intention, right speech, right action, right livelihood, right effort, right mindfulness, and right concentration."
"Whatever. Can I go now?"
"Sure, I think I've kept you long enough. Here, I shall bestow this power to you. Say the magic words and you are bound to win."
Silver Spoon awoke to find some type of magic flowing within her. She levitated herself in front of Lord Tirek.
"Deus Ex Machina!" she screamed, her magic returning Lord Tirek back to Tartarus, as well as returning everypony's magic.
Unfortunately, Silver Spoon's Deus Ex Machina failed to get rid of any of the other villains. Fortunately, the large amount of changelings injured had caused Queen Chrysalis to retreat. This leaves only King Sombra and Ahuizotl.
Suddenly, Daring Do appears and fights Ahuizotl face to face. However, one of Daring Do's stray ropes knocks away King Sombra's cape, revealing his lack of a cutie mark. Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon's endless taunting had caused King Sombra to flee in shame. And, of course, Daring Do had finally defeated Ahuizotl.
For the rest of the day, Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon celebrated Diamond's birthday.
Deep within the changeling hive, Queen Chrysalis paced back and forth on her second failed attempt to secure Equestria.
"Invading Canterlot didn't work. Invading Ponyville didn't work. Nothing seems to be working!" she grumbled. Suddenly, a bright light appeared above her. She heard a voice calling from the Heavens.
"Who... who are you?"
"It it I, Deathnight Horseshoe."
"Never heard of you."
"That's good," said Deathnight Horseshoe. "This will only work for those who aren't aware."
"What are you talking about?"
"Nothing."
Just then, Deathnight Horseshoe's spirit filled the body of Queen Chrysalis, causing a miraculous reincarnation of Deathnight Horseshoe himself, now as a changeling. In his new changeling body, Deathnight Horseshoe steps away from Queen Chrysalis.
"I have finally returned..."
