Navicula
Prologue
Load Full Story“Uhmgm…” I slowly opened my eyes but quickly shut them as I looked into the blinding light of the sun.
“Give me five more minutes…” You half-consciously blurted aloud. To your high dismay, nobody turned the lights out. One inward groan later and you are pulling the covers off of your body to get ready for the morning.
You slapped some clothes on, ruffled your hair with some water, sprayed some cologne on to mask the fact that you are too lazy to take a shower today, and threw a jacket on. Oh yeah. Shoes. Those too.

The cracked and broken pavement shifted under your feet as you strode down the sidewalk and turned into a dark alleyway. The dark hum of the city harmonized with the dim light of the luminescent night lights in the street.
You flipped the tails of my jacket back as I quietly traversed the gloomy atmosphere of New York City. The city itself is fairly new to you, as you have just recently moved here. Your past isn’t quite a lighthearted one, to say the least. You try to put that stuff behind me and look forward to a new day. A tiny smile graced your face as you walked forward.
Your foot suddenly got caught in a crack on the sidewalk, slamming your face down into the air!
Wait.
Air?
Oh my god, am I falling upwards? You glimpsed the edge of a gap in the floor, crackling with electricity and bubbles of exploding purple substance.
Time slowed down as you fell. An unexplainable pain was throbbing in my chest as I slowly fell to my death. My entire being felt like it was being flipped, twisted, turned, pulled, and stretched all at once as I passed through the core of the monstrosity that decided to break every existing law of everything.
