Chapter 1 - Bigger on the inside
Rainbow Dash lazed on a low hung cloud and read the latest Daring Do book.
It was better than ever before and she was just getting to the good part when she heard the strangest noise she’d ever heard. It was a metallic thrumming that defied imagination.
‘Weeeoooorp - weeeoooorp’
The next sound was hard to explain, but it was a bit like a muffled jangling sound, then
‘Veeeweeeeoooorp - veeeweeeoooorp - thud - creak’
A blue box appeared in sync with these sounds and out stepped a coughing grey pony wearing a red cylindrical item on his head.
“I wonder why I can’t stand. Maybe I'll just crawl - there we go! Here we are-oh, this isn’t London.”
Rainbow, wondering what in Equestria ‘London’ was - and furthermore how a blue box appears out of nowhere - flew down and landed in front of the grey pony.
The box had a small light on the top, lettering across the top of tall double doors that read ‘Police Public Call Box’, and a sign that read ‘Free for use of Ponies, Pull to open’ (which was funny as the doors had opened inwards) on one.
“Who are you and how did you teleport the box? My friend Twilight can’t teleport boxes that size, and she’s an ALICORN!” She said, hardly noticing the colt was wide eyed, with a mentally large and lopsided grin on his face.
“You’re talking! You’re not supposed to be talking, at least - not in english! And you’ve got WINGS!”
“Well, DUH! Have you been living under a rock your whole life or something?!”
“But - you’re a pony!”
“Yeah, so are you.”
“No I’m - OH MY GOODNESS! Will you take a look at that! Ha!”
The pony looked himself over for the first time. He was an earth pony with black mane and tail. The mane was parted perfectly over the muzzle, just over yellow eyes.
“Well thats interesting! I must have regenerated and by some amazing chance my biology must have locked onto that of this universe!”
“Come again?”
The colt sighed and opened the double doors with a hoof.
The inside was a red and orange chamber with a small stair leading up to a large raised platform which held a six sided table covered in various knobs, buttons, levers and what appeared to be a hoofwriter.
“Bu-wha-?”spluttered Rainbow, struck speechless.
“I know, it’s.”
“85% cooler on the inside. This is just impossible! How in the name of Celestia are you doing it.”
“It's Dimensionally Transcendental” said the pony matter o' factly, “And, um - not ‘bigger’?”
“Uh-huh.”
“Want to take her for a spin? I wouldn't usually let you immediately after meeting you - but since almost every time I meet someone new they end up traveling with me, what's the point in fighting it.”
“It travels?”
“She does. Want to?”
“I just met you! I don’t even know your name!”
“Me? I’m the Doctor!”
“Doctor who?”
“Well, it’s just the Doctor.”

Chapter 2 - The Changelings
Chapter 2: The Changelings
The Doctor closed the door and clopped up to the platform.
“This is the central/primary console room and this large thing in the center is the console.” explained the Doctor, “There’s the flight mode switch and here’s the exterior scanner and navigational mode. That’s the monitor and the space-time throttle, the ‘travel’ lever, and over yonder is a Swuffle reading Shakespeare. Wonder if he’s up to the interesting bit yet. Anywho, the console and all it’s button’s (mostly) controls where and when the TARDIS goes.”
“When?”
“Yes. TARDIS is an acronym. It stands for Time And Relative Dimensions In Space.”
“You’re a Time Travelling pony!”
“Yes, though technically it’s ‘Time-Lord’ or maybe ‘Time-Pony’. Come to think of it, ‘Time-Pony’ has a nice ring to it.” said the Doctor thoughtfully.
“Well - that would explain why your Cutie Mark is an hourglass.”
“Huh? Cutie Mark?!”
“Well yeah! You are a really strange pony, know that?”
“To be fair, I’ve never been a pony before. So what’s a Cutie Mark?”
“It appears usually near the end of your foal years, when you find your special talent. It’s like - if you are a good baker it would appear as a cake or a loaf of bread.”
“Well, that does make sense. Not sure if I get the name though. Wouldn’t it be something like ‘Talent Mark’?”
“Nope, it’s just ‘Cutie Mark’.”
“Huh.”
The Doctor - after immense trial and error - managed to flip the dematerialization lever when Rainbow asked him how the TARDIS worked (not to mention what the heck was on his head!).
“Well - er - what’s your name again?”
“Rainbow Dash.”
The Doctor started laughing so hard he visible shook. He then calmed down and continued.
“Well, it’s a fez (fezzes are cool!). And to answer your first question first I flip the demat- um...travel lever as I just did then I use the monitor to switch universes if I want to, which I don’t. If I don’t want to I select a galaxy, then a solar system, planet, country and city etc.. I then move over to the time forward and backward control and flip it down for back. On the exterior visualizer (the big window next to the door) you’ll see that now we are travelling through a blue tunnel. It’s called the Time Vortex and if we go back in time it will appear blue. If we go forwards in time it will look red. I steer by getting the flight mode on then going over here to the exterior scanner and navigational control (basically, the steering wheel) and pilot it until the monitor over there shows the time I want. I then stop the TARDIS, hit the space-time throttle and flip the travel lever off. We’re here.”
“Doctor, that’s just awesome!”
“I know, isn’t it?”
The TARDIS began to materialize with the familiar metallic thrumming, except - it sounded different. It wasn’t so wheezy, it was a more clean sound, and there was no ‘Veeeweeeeoooorp’ just the solid ‘Weeeeoooorp’.
“Hey Doc, whys the ‘TARDIS’ making a different sound?”
“Well before it was an emergency landing since I was crashing after my rather violent tussle with the daleks (don’t ask). Now it’s just a regular landing.”
“Oh.”
The two trotted out the door and were greeted by black insect like creatures that looked as if someone had put them in a room and shot them with an extremely large gun. That or they were made of black Swiss cheese.
“The Changelings!” yelled Rainbow.
“Yes, wait - how did you know?”
“Um, everyone in Equestria knows. They are attacking the capital city!”
“Oh, right. Well, I’m sorry - but I seem to have brought you into your own past. That's okay if you aren't in the same general vicinity. That can cause nasty things, believe me.”
“No duh, I’m up ther - how did you know that?”
“The metallic taste in the air and the warning light just in the TARDIS door. I’ll just get my Sonic - Oh. Um. OH SOD IT! How exactly do you carry things?!”
“Like this.” she replied, picking up the green tipped ‘Sonic’, “What’s a sonic?”
The Doctor didn’t reply until he finally managed to pick the device up.
“FINALLY! Oh, it’s actually called the Sonic Screwdriver. It can fluctuate any technology and open any door unless the tech is wood or the door is deadlocked. What exactly stopped the Changelings? I mean, there weren’t any around in your time.”
“Princess Cadence and Shining Armor’s combined magic did.”
“MAGIC! Your pullin’ my leg!”
“They’re an alicorn and a unicorn.”
“AN ALICORN!”.
The Doctor looked like a foal that had just received a very large ice - cream.
“Yes,” replied Rainbow, “Cadence is the third of the three ruling alicorns, under Princess Celestia and Luna (the royal sisters). Shining Armor is the head of Celestia’s EUP guard - standing for Earth pony, Unicorn and Pegasus. They were getting married until we found out the real Cadence had been imprisoned and the one at the wedding was really a Changeling.”
“Well - that’s - just - amazing. But I doubt simple magic would have been enough to rid Equestria of an entire invasion fleet. An outside force must have either amplified or even combined with the magic.”
“What?”
“I wouldn’t want to jump to conclusions, but I think that’s me.”

Chapter 3 - Doctor overboard
Chapter 3: Changeling overboard
The duo rushed back into the TARDIS and the Doctor ran a scan of the surrounding area.
“Ah-HA! A Changeling invasion ship Class-A in orbit.”
“What’s that?” inquired Rainbow.
“The spaceship the Changelings arrived in. It gets all the emotion from the people, or in your case, ponies, in a certain area - then converts it into food and power for all the Changelings. We have to get up there, but unfortunately I can’t use the Time Vortex or who knows what time we’ll actually get there.”
“So, how do we get up there?”
“I cloak the TARDIS and fly it up there in real time.”
With that he trotted over to the console and flipped a lever, then pulled the switch he’d identified as the flight mode control. He then took a hold of the 'wheel' and the TARDIS lurched and began to make the flight noises.
“So, I’m going to half dematerialize it to we can pass through the ships shields. If you look on the exterior scanner you can watch the outside in flight.”
“It looks like one of those third-pony games.”marveled Rainbow.
The TARDIS was slightly translucent and flew towards the now visible spaceship. It looked rather like a barbed arrow head and was just as holey as the Changelings themselves. The TARDIS passed seamlessly through the green bubble surrounding it. It then landed in a large hangar and rematerialized, becoming solid again. The two ponies took their eyes off of the scanner and trotted out the door.
“Hey, my ar-hoof is starting to hurt. Where can I put the Sonic?”
“Your pocket.” replied Rainbow.
“I’m not wearing any clothing Rainbow.”
“No - look.” she stuck her hand into his pocket.
“You know, you pony folk never cease to amaze me!”
The clopped over to a large green capsule and the Doctor led Rainbow inside and shut the door.
“This has quite sophisticated workings for a Changeling ship. It would appear they have installed a Type 78.9.2 atom shifter!”
“Huh?”
“It’s an automatic teleporter.”
“Right.”
The Doctor flipped a switch and everything went green (what was it with Changelings and green?) and suddenly came into focus in a room with a huge intricate machine with a glowing green orb at the center.
Rainbow managed to absorb this in the 5.5 seconds before she threw up and tumbled over backwards - an interesting process to watch in the Doctor’s mind, as she had an entire two back legs and rump to fall over.
“What in the name of Celestia is that?!”
“That, my dear Rainbow, would be the ship’s emotion converter. It is taking on an immense amount of energy...hmmm...I wonder.”
“What is it Doc?”
“Well, if I release the energy the magic burst from Cadense should combine with it and create a miniature rift in the fabric of space and time. Not big enough to do any lasting damage - but enough so that the energy with recognise the Changelings and suck them in leaving the ponies and whatnot alone. But-”
“But what? What is it Doc.”
“Once the Changelings are sucked in they should be sucked back to their planet, but once the ships mental connection to the Changeling Queen/Leader/Admiral/whatever is broken, the ship will disintegrate. So we have to be real quick and make a break for the TARDIS after I release the energy and we teleport back to the hangar.”
“Okay then. Good thing I’m known for speed. And her name is pronounced ‘Cadence’.”
“Okay - on the count of three. One...two...THREE!”
The Sonic emitted a high pitched warble just as the light violet wave passed through the ship.
The two ponies rushed to the teleporter just as the ship began to make sounds that sounded like a ponylance. They teleported and ran (messely at best) towards the TARDIS, and just managed to get through the doors when the outside floor disappeared. They collapsed on the floor and the Doctor asked Rainbow if she’d like to come with him.
“How about it Rainbow Dash. All of time and space! Anything that ever happened or ever will.”
“What about my friends? Won’t they miss me?”
“Time Machine.”
“Right. TOTALLY!”
The Doctor flipped the demat’ lever and the TARDIS began to dematerialize.
Then suddenly there was a loud bang, a flash and a grey pegasus with black spiky mane and tail appeared on the TARDIS floor.
“Oh, not again.” said the silky voice of Discorded Whooves, the reversed Doctor.
Next time
The Doctor meets his past self to find him Discorded! Not only that but this is not his first time in Equestria.
The Doctor, the other Doctor and Rainbow Dash must stop the Weeping Pegasi, restore the Discorded Doctor to his old Derpy loving, pear hating self, and if that wasn’t enough they also must return the regular Doctors memory.
