Twilight Sparkle yawned as she woke up in her bed in her brand new castle. It didn't quite feel like her old home, the Golden Oaks Library, but she was getting used to it. Spike also woke up from the sound of Twilight's yawn.
"Good morning, Twilight!"
"Good morning, Spike," Twilight replied to Spike. Spike was her number one dragon assistant and one of her very first friends. Spike has always, always been there for Twilight Sparkle, especially in times of doubt.
Suddenly, Spike looked worried.
"T-twilight..." he stammered in fear.
"What is it, Spike?" Twilight Sparkle added. "Did you have a bad dream? Do you have a stomach ache?" Now that Twilight was an alicorn princess, the Princess Of Friendship, complete with her very own castle and kingdom of her own, Twilight needed to help whomever she could.
"There's snow outside, Twilight..."
"What a silly dragon you are, Spike! It is November! Of course it couldn't-"
Twilight Sparkle walked over to a window and glanced outside.
"-snow."
All of Ponyville was covered with a thick blanket of snow. Twilight could see the Cutie Mark Crusaders making a snowpony outside.
Twilight gasped. "This isn't natural, especially for November! What are we going to do?"
"I don't know! I was the one who told you in the first place!" Spike replied.
"Well, I'm coming outside to see what in Celestia's name is going on here," Twilight Sparkle replied. "Are you coming with me?"
"Of course I am!" Spike happily answered.
Spike and Twilight Sparkle started down the stairs and exited the castle.
Immediately after exiting the castle, a giant pile of snow fell on Twilight Sparkle and Spike.
"Oof!"
Twilight Sparkle's head popped out of the snow pile. Her wings popped out afterwards, and she flew out of the pile. She levitated Spike out of the pile.
"Sorry guys," a blushing Rainbow Dash apologized from above them. "I was trying to get this snow off of this tree. I didn't mean for it to get all over you guys."
"It's okay," Twilight Sparkle replied. "We are out here to investigate why it snowed today."
"It is in the middle of November!" Spike exclaimed. "Something is totally wrong here!"
"I agree," Rainbow responded. "Catch ya later!" Rainbow Dash sped off into the sky.
Twilight Sparkle and Spike started through a heavy path of snow.
"Gosh, Twi," Spike commented. "How thick is this snow?"
"It has to be at least five inches," Twilight Sparkle replied.
Twilight Sparkle and Spike suddenly stopped in their tracks. A large figure loomed over them. The figure was Discord, a draconequis who was recently reformed and apologized for his wrongdoings in the past. What answers could he have to this mysterious occurrence?
"Gosh, Twi," he spoke, "look at all of this snow! Looks like Hearth's Warming Eve is going to be here early this year."
"Why would it be here early?!" Spike asked. "Hearth's Warming Eve traditionally begins on-"
"Spike," Discord explained, "I was just joking. I think I may have an explanation for what is going on today. Come closer."
Twilight Sparkle and Spike inched a little bit closer to Discord.
Discord's neck grew shorter. "Closer."
They came a little bit more closer to him. Discord's neck grew a little more shorter. "Closer."
Twilight Sparkle and Spike came a little bit more closer to Discord. Discord's neck grew even smaller and his voice grew high-pitched and shrill: "Closer."
They came a bit more closer when Discord's normal voice spoke: "Stop."
Discord's neck grew long again and he was very dizzy. He shook his head and he brought it down really close to Twilight's face.
"Um, what are you going to tell us?" Twilight Sparkle asked.
"I think," Discord whispered to her, "that the pegasi messed up in the Cloudsdale Weather Factory."
"How could the pegasi mess up in the Cloudsdale Weather Factory?!" Twilight shouted. "They are a very highly-trained and elite team of pegasi. How could they mess up?"
"Perhaps the boss's calendar was wrong," Discord suggested.
"Impossible," responded Spike.
"Is that the best explanation you can come up with?!" Twilight responded to Discord. "That's ludicrous!"
"I don't know what that word means, but I agree with Twilight!" Spike agreed.
"Oh really?" Discord responded. "I actually kind of think that theory of mine isn't holding up too well, now that you mention it. I now think that Princess Celestia is the one who is responsible for this snow."
Twilight Sparkle growls angrily.
"First the pegasi from the Cloudsdale Weather Factory, and now you're saying that Princess Celestia is responsible?! That's even more ludicrous than your last theory!"
"What she said!" Spike responded.
"Well, she raises the sun," Discord stated. "She could have some knowledge in weather."
"Then she wouldn't be just raising the sun!" Twilight responded. "She would also be in charge of the weather, meaning that the Cloudsdale Weather Factory wouldn't even exist!"
"Um, maybe she just likes winter?" Discord peeps.
"I know what you're hiding, Discord!" Twilight Sparkle exclaims. "You used your chaotic powers to conjure up snow! You are responsible for this!"
There was a long period of silence.
"Yes...it was me," Discord sheepishly admits.
"I knew that all along!" comments Spike.
Suddenly Twilight Sparkle smiles.
"Oh no," Discord peeps.
Twilight leaned over and whispered into Discord's ear.
"Oh no..." he peeps even more quietly.
"You'll have to shovel all of this snow!" she whispers.
"Noooooooooooooooooo!" Discord yells.
Twilight Sparkle levitates Discord a shovel. "Better start now," she says with a smile.
Discord holds the shovel in his arms and starts shoveling snow.
"This is why I hate Winter Wrap Up..."
