Don’t forget your homework!” Cheerilee called out to her young students as they left the classroom. Everyone was excited for this particular weekend, for it marked the beginning of Spring Break! Of course, on this happy vacation, she hadn’t given them any REAL homework. Homework: Have a wonderful spring break! What teacher would she be if she gave them some essay, or something that took more than a few minutes? One that they wouldn’t like, that’s for sure. As the last of the fillies filed out of the room, she lay her head down and let out a sigh of relief. She could finally get some rest! She loved those students to death, although they could be quite the hooffull! Of course, it was all part of the job. She closed her eyes for a few moments, letting her imagination wander as she prepared to go home to get a well deserved nap. Although they just took a test, Cheerliee needed sleep. Forget the test!Cheerilee let out a sigh. “This spring break couldn’t have come soon enough…” She spoke aloud, although no one could hear her. Eventually, she gathered herself and her supplies, and headed back into town to make her way home. The beautiful scenery passed her by as she walked back. Oh how she loved Spring! The flowers everywhere filled her with delight and she cantered towards the town square. It really was quite inconvenient, but her house was located on the opposite side of town from the schoolhouse. Cheerilee, however, didn’t let that bother her. She was more of a glass-half-full pony. As she passed by the fountain that marked town square, she noticed a pony with a purple coat and maroon hair. She immediately recognized her good friend Scarlet Moon staring off into the distance. “Scarlet!” Cheerilee called out. She hadn’t spoken to her in quite a while. She’d been so caught up with teaching that she hadn’t been able to talk to many of her friends lately. “Scarlet Moon! It’s me, Cheerilee!” Although Scarlet Moon continued staring into the distance for another few seconds, she eventually turned and gave Cheerilee a grin. “Hey!” She called back excitedly, “what’s up? I haven’t heard from you in a while.” Cheerilee gave another sigh. “Teaching over at the schoolhouse has just been a complete hassle. I’ve barely had any me time.” “That sounds awful!” Scarlet frowned at Cheerilee. “It’s really a lot better than I’m making it sound,” She quickly tried to remedy. “The students are just a delight, although quite the hoofful at times, and I mostly get the weekends to myself, but I just haven’t had much time to talk with my girls.” She gave a quick wink to Scarlet. “Anyways, how have you been doing? Anything exciting happen?” Scarlet Moon instantly blushed. “Well, uh… I met a stallion…” She blushed even harder. “Oooooohh, anyone I might know?” Cheerilee pressed. “Probably not…?” Scarlet answered, slowly. However, this didn't stop Cheerliee from asking. “Well come on dear, spit out his name!” Cheerilee continued to press. “Crescent Moon.” Scarlet replied, hoping to satiate Cheerilee’s hunger for information. However, more questions were to follow. “How did you two meet? Have you already gone on a date?” Cheerilee gasped very overdramatically. “Have you two done the naughty already?” She whispered in Scarlet’s ear. “What? No!” Scarlet almost yelled. “Dear Celestia you’re nosy!” She pouted. However, underneath that pout was a grin. “Although we have been going out for quite some time...” “Oh? How long?” Cheerilee wanted to know everything. She actually did like to know the details of her friend’s personal lives. However, she somtimes got a bit carried away. “We met pretty soon after the last time you and I had talked. I was just sitting at the bar on the weekend, getting a few drinks with the girls, and he just came up and asked me out. I wasn’t currently seeing anyone, obviously, so I decided why not?” Scarlet shrugged. “Oooo~” Cheerilee thought about how nice it would be to have a stallion just up and ask her out. Scarlet was so lucky! “Anyway, he took me out on a few dates, we got to know each other, and… he’s really nice. Honestly, I like him a lot more than I’ve liked some of my previous coltfriends… and that’s saying something, honestly.” Cheerilee knew that, definitely. She remembered a few of the ones that had broken Scarlet’s heart, and how she had been in bed for a few days before showing herself again. Despite her jealousy, Cheerilee truly felt bad for her. Although she hadn’t the time to date anyone as all of her time was taken up by school work, she could guess how heart-wrenching it was to lose somepony that one cared about and loved. “Well what’s he like?” Cheerilee finally asked? “Well, he’s a pegasus like me; he has a light brown, orange-ish coat, a crimson mane, and a compass rose for his cutie mark. I think he mentioned the cutie mark was because he’s exceptionally good at reading maps, but he got his name because he loved the night sky and the comet that he saw one night. Personality wise, he’s funny, kind, he always cheers me up, and all around he’s a fantastic stallion.” Scarlet blushed a little at the thought of some of the things he had done for her. “Actually, we have another date tomorrow night.” “Oh, well I hope you have fun.” Cheerilee winked. Scarlet blushed even more at the joking intentions behind Cheerilee’s eyes, whom proceeded to have a hearty giggle. “Of course, I’m only kidding, dear. I honestly do hope you two have a wonderful time.” “Thank you, I really hope it goes well. I really like him…” Scarlet trailed off thinking about him. Cheerilee took notice of this. “Well, I won’t keep you for much longer, as it’s starting to get a bit late.” The moon was starting to peak out over the horizon and Celestia’s sun was sinking low. “I must be getting home now, I’m simply famished!” To prove her point, her stomach let off a fairly loud growl. Scarlet gave Cheerilee a smile. “Very well, hopefully I’ll see you again soon. It was nice seeing you again!” “You as well, dear, have a good time tomorrow!” Cheerilee waved as she resumed the path to her house. It sounds like she’s found such a nice stallion. I’m sure they’ll have a wonderful time!
